Alabama DC Jeremy Pruitt expected to become head coach at Tennessee

Did the Vols finally find someone to accept their offer?

According to Bruce Feldman, Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt is expected to become the head football coach at Tennessee.

ESPN’s Chris Low reported Tennessee is currently trying to finalize the deal with Pruitt.

Mind you, this is the third or fourth time a coach has been “expected” to become the next head man at Tennessee, so nothing is official until pen hits paper. Or in Greg Schiano’s case, when the fanbase scares the administration into backing out of signed paperwork.

One of the most mind-blowing coaching searches in sports history could finally be over.

What do you guys think?

Looks like ol backstabber Fulmer finally got a coach for the pukey orange team . If things don’t go well with this coaching hire , I bet Fulmer will wash his hands of it . I still think Fulmer had an old axe to grind with Currie as Currie was second in command when then AD Mike Hamilton fired weasel Fulmer the first time .

I think it sucks that AL will play in another playoff game with either a new DC or one that will be to involved with his next job. This reeeealy gives Clemson a huge advantage.

The optics are terrible. Pruitt is a good DC on a good team, but the situation at Tennessee has imploded. Tennessee has talked with more than 10 candidates and Pruitt probably wasn’t even on their list until this week. I doubt he could hold their recruiting class together.

I’m fine with whatever negative effect this has on Alabama. I don’t give 2 shits about Alabama and I don’t just automatically cheer for the SEC team.

I think Pruit would be a good get for UT considering the circumstances. UT has alot of talent.
