With one week to go until the NBA Draft, Wenyen Gabriel continues to work out for teams across the league in hopes of snagging a late second round pick or summer league spot. Today, he was aiming for the latter in Toronto, where he worked out for the Raptors, who do not have a pick in this year’s draft.
According to Adam Zagoria, Wenyen also has workouts with the Philadelphia 76ers, the Detroit Pistons, and Charlotte Hornets coming up. Previously, he’s worked out for the New York Knicks, the Sacramento Kings, the Phoenix Suns, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Memphis Grizzlies, and the Los Angeles Lakers. In case you missed it over the weekend, Wenyen turned heads by tying the highest score (28 points) in the Lakers’ Mentality Drill, which tests prospects’ stamina and shooting at the end of each workout:

Earlier today, The Athletic’s Michael Sotto projected Wenyen to go 58th to Denver, his first appearance in a major mock draft. That would be the best draft night surprise of all.
