We are all John Calipari in this picture

@MeganteCalipari

If you’re reading this, you’re probably not very happy right now. Kentucky lost to an unranked Seton Hall team — that Louisville beat by five last week — prompting us all to check our expectations for this squad once again.

John Calipari’s taking a lot of heat tonight, and judging by this picture by his daughter, Megan, he feels just as crappy as us all.

The look on Ellen’s face reminds me of the look my friends who don’t follow Kentucky give me after the Cats lose.

Man our fans are literally the worst… unreal how much crying there is everytime we have a bad game. Yes it sucks… it also happens to every single team in the country. No wonder kids don’t want to come here, get blasted whenever they don’t do what the fans want. Fans calling for cal to be fired (LOL) everytime we lose, get a grip people

    1. Bobbum Man

And before I get slammed by the Cal haters, yes I know he makes mistakes and yes I’m aware he isn’t the best in game coach in the country. But who do u guys want? U know coach k, Stevens, Wright etc aren’t coming here. Annoying how many bandwagon fans we got that want everyone fired when things don’t go how they want

    2. StuckinLville

The North Carolina game will tell us a lot.

    3. Kat4Life

Ha !! I think the Seton Hall game told us a lot !!

    4. henderblue

I’m with you Bobbum Man. Also on board with az1006.

It seems that way, but I think the crybabies are overrepresented online. The comment section, facebook, etc. just give them a way to get attention. And that’s not even counting the trolls who just come around here to stir up drama.

    6. BigolBlue

You are the worst bobbum. You are the reason Cal has lost his drive and become content. Everyone pats him on the back for everything

    7. WatchutalkinboutWillis

      Exactly right Bobburn!

  2. cmelvin

My thoughts exactly. You learn from a loss , we will be fine.

    1. ScoggDog

Not always. This team won’t learn a thing.

Losing just doesn’t bother them all that much.

    2. henderblue

What a dumbass comment from SoggyDog.

The guy is paid a lot of money. I’m sure he can take criticism. People seem to forget that Cal has voiced what his priorities are many times. He is there to help kids, which is code for get guys to the league. He won’t play zone or make many adjustment to his styke because he feels like it hurts players’ stock at the next level. The fans on the other hand want to win championships. I wonder how long this marriage can last with such differences. Personally, I would like to see him move on. We need a coach that wants to hang banners as bad as he wants his players signing massive NBA contracts.

It’s got more to do with his decline in recruiting coupled with the disappointing season. Fans were fine with a down year because normally the next year he was bringing in elite talent, that’s not been the case in recent years. He is now missing on the top recruits and it’s translating to ehh seasons that are kind of boring. I’m a huge fan and I can’t even stay focused an entire game because it’s so boring and pathetic at times.

  4. az1006

The hyperbole that I have seen today is almost shocking, even by Kentucky fan standards. We shot as poorly as we have all year, and they had a guy that couldn’t miss. And this wasn’t like earlier in the year when we weren’t defending guys. We did today. Kid makes a double-clutch 3, and there’s nothing you can do.

Thing is…We aren’t far off. If Herro makes just 2 of the 6 open looks he had, we win in regulation. He missed one in OT too. What if that last 3 by Seton Hall rims out?

I’m frustrated and disappointed. But count me out of the sky is falling nonsense after every single damn loss (and a lot of wins). Why even watch the games?

    1. WatchutalkinboutWillis

      Amen

  5. Dildo Baggins

Let’s see one championship in 10 years….unacceptable. Cal doesn’t get the number 1 guy anymore which means we will never win another title. Why keep him around? He will leave once Brad coaches on his staff and gets some experience. I wouldnt hesitate to make a move if the opportunity presents itself. Cal is a good coach but hes great at sending kids to the NBA not winning rings for the fans.

    1. bigblue2284

I’m ready for a change, I think Cal is ready also.

    2. unbridled

You call one championship in ten years unacceptable? How ignorant of you. Just a dumb statement which illustrates how little you know about college basketball.

    3. WatchutalkinboutWillis

There are plenty of other teams for you to go cheer for if you want a change. I’m sure you are the same cry babies that complain about players and coaches having “no loyalty”. Get over yourselves. Cheer for this team or don’t.

  6. Shively1978

I wouldn’t bet on Jay Wright not coming here. You don’t think UK can pay him more than Villanova can. Cal will retire eventually will be interesting to see who they go after and who they get. The guy at Virginia would be ok. People font like the style but he has done well despite last years tournament disaster.

    1. henderblue

Yeah let’s bring in the guy at Virginia. We will have 51-50 games all the time. Then bigblue2284 will know what boring basketball truly is

    2. CATandMONKEY

      No thanks on both

  7. Shively1978

They’d never hire him even if he would come but I’d love to see Bruce Pearl rocking a UK blue suit. He would dominate people at UK he’s been good everywhere he’s been.

    1. EdC

Yea who WOULDN’T want to return to the good old days of Eddie Sutton and probation. SMH

  8. KYCat4EVER

Wha? “We are all Coach Cal in THIS picture”???
I’m not making the millions of dollars HE is and failing to win National Championships!

  9. Catlogic15

He looks tired, defeated (well he did just lose). But not the “we’re figuring it out” or “we’ll be fine” Cal. I’m concerned it all might be getting to him. But maybe it’s more than we know. Perhaps it’s the questionable tactics of other teams without repercussions that has become his biggest obstacle.

  10. letsroll76

Great family,we very thankful to have.
    GO CATS!!
