WATCH: Buzzer-beater creates Mountain Classic Miracle

If you weren’t one of the fortunate souls at the WYMT Food City Mountain Classic in Hazard last night, you missed a miracle.

Down 46-44 to Harlan County, Perry Central’s Dylan Cornett threw up a 3/4-court prayer at the buzzer…and it went in.

If you’ve got some more time this morning, I recommend watching the entire 12-minute clip of the final moments of the game over at WYMT.com. It’s totally worth it.

That was the longest 1 second that I have ever seen.

I am always amazed when the coach doesn’t order the player to intentionally miss the second free throw.

Or the player can make a wise decision by himself and intentionally miss the second free throw. That means you have to rebound the ball about 8 feet from the baseline and turn around and shoot the ball almost the entire length of the court, and you’ll probably have two defenders with their hands up to distract.

Oh also the HC player was fouled at half court attempting to shoot yet only gets two shots…that’s was the longest 1.6 seconds of my life…
