Utah Valley plays Kentucky tonight, Duke tomorrow

You’ve gotta give it to Utah Valley; they’re clearly not scared of competition.

Tonight, the Wolverines play No. 5 Kentucky at Rupp Arena and tomorrow night, they play No. 1 Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Talk about a tough 24 hours. Utah Valley is the first team in AP poll history to begin the season with road games vs. AP Top 5 opponents. What was head coach Mark Pope thinking?

“Is this the dumbest thing in the history of the world or is it going to be really good for us?” Pope mused in an interview with ESPN. “We still actually argue about that everyday, whether this is really, really good, or not very smart.”

ESPN is following the Wolverines on their #Toughest24 road trip, which started with shootaround at Rupp Arena yesterday:

And continued with dinner at Castle Post (aka “The Castle”) on Versailles Road, where Pope was dubbed an official “knight of the castle” and presented with a ceremonial sword:

Regardless of what happens tonight, Pope and the Wolverines have my full respect.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Duke really blows them away due to fatigue
