Wow! Two legends is an understatement.

Dan, I remember watching you when I was a kid. Just awesome. I had an ABA basketball with you and Artis’ autographs mimeographed on it. I wish I still had it!

Thanks Benny for all you did for UK football. Selfishly I wish we had you back for one more year, but go make your money! Just take care of it and keep being your down to earth self. Good luck and God bless!

Me too Chris.. in reference to #44. He’s still the man.

In fact your comment triggered a memory… Big Dan autograph with a crayon I gave him as a kid. He smiled and signed a program with a blue crayon. It’s in a document protector but fading bad over time like me… hehhhhh

At least you still have it man!

It’s ironic that Issel and Gilmore wound up winning an ABA championship together after they were on opposing teams in that big upset that Jacksonville had over the Cats.

Still have it – I gotcha, yes sir. Ironic indeed with those 2 facing off and then taking off so to speak together.

Some of my fondest memories, (and I assure you there wasn’t many) as a kid,was sitting with my father listening to the games on radio, then watching it on tape delay after the local news..Dan was just 3,4 years before my time, but watched him plenty in the ABA….Denver nuggets.

Yes sir.. great memories we have.

The Great Dan Issel and The Great Benny Snell UK’s leading men in their own sport. It’s crazy as a kid I’ll never forget Big Dan and Little Ronnie Lyons man what memories, then as an old man Benny helped give me memories I thought would never come from the football program
