These pictures of the team volunteering for Samaritan’s Feet are amazing

Earlier today, I told you how the team spent their morning volunteering with Samaritan’s Feet, an organization that distributes shoes to impoverished children around the world. The players visited a church in Nassau to meet local Bahamian children, wash their feet, and help them into new socks and shoes. CoachCal.com has a story up about the experience, and it’s too good not to share with you. Check out this quote from Andrew Harrison:

“It’s humbling,” Andrew Harrison said. “It actually makes you want to drop a couple tears because you see all these kids and then you think about what we complain about every day. It just makes you think about what you have and what you’ve been blessed with.”

Chet White also has an amazing photo gallery, with some of his most powerful work yet. The one of Dakari above and the one of Calipari below are two of my favorites. Be sure to go check it out at UKAthletics.com.

One of my faves was the Poythress one. I hope it makes it to a ‘Poythress the type of dude’ tweet.

What a great article. Cal really gets it and he wants to make sure the kids he coaches learn something other than how to play basketball. Stories like this about Calipari don’t come around nearly as often as they should. What a great group of guys we have this year, not to say the other teams haven’t been just as charitable, but seeing this so early before the season even starts is inspiring.

I am just overwhelmed at our guys and what they do. Aaron hit it on the head with his comment. I love the hug pictures.

That last pic needs to be a “Caption This” challenge.

Chet is a hell of a photographer. He’s an even better person. If ksr wasn’t forced to credit his photos, they wouldn’t even think of giving him the credit he’s due. I can’t think of how many times i have seen his photos of this site and cringed because they were not credited to him.

I am so proud being from BBN with the way Cal and all our teams have been so humble and giving their time and raiseing money for charities and tragedies. You never, never see and will see Ricky P and the ul kids do anything like this.

These guys are a special group. Refreshing after being inundated with the awful news of all the atrocities happening to children in the rest of the world as I write this comment.
