The SEC Network Shares Wenyen Gabriel’s Story

Wenyen Gabriel’s life has never been easy.

Before Wenyen was a Kentucky forward, he was a South Sudanese refugee.  The rest of his story didn’t get any easier.  You’ve heard it from Mrs. Tyler, you’ve seen it on Inside the Madness, now watch Laura Rutledge tell it (and grab some tissues).

“Bol is not dead now.  He’s alive, because of Wenyen.”

If that doesn’t break your heart, I don’t know what will.

But we don’t want no refugees, right guys?! They are bad for our country. America first! (Unless they play for our basketball team, in which case they’re ok)…Go Cats!

So you watched that video and the first instinct you had was to make a prickly, sanctimonious comment. Neat.

Not to detract from the story, but I would say most people want to be able to control how many people come into the country. Mass immigration and not being able to control the borders is not a good thing. If borders are secure, you can still have immigration and you can better control the flow of immigrants. To think that all immigrants are good or bad is not reality. It’s much easier to get good, hardworking, smart people if you can control who comes in.

With that said, Wenyen and his family seem like a fine family and I wish them the best!

So dropping a turd in the comment section of a great story is ok as long as you follow it up with “go Cats?” Dick move.

Everything is political with some folks. Imagine what fun they are.

OHHHH YOU JUST GOT QUAD-ROASTED YOU CAN CALL ME CAL, HOWS THAT FEEL?

  2. You Can Call Me Cal

I still feel pretty good, especially considering I don’t live my life using the term “quad-roasted.”

You shouldn’t feel good, because you took a great story and made it political, and it’s obvious that you have no clue of what you speak…

    2. Eazy

It’s obvious that most right wingers have no clue what they speak of and have no idea about immigration laws. Drumpf is trying to threaten legal immigration now, too. And most dreamers are five times more productive than your average Americans. Speaking of making things political…it’s usually republicans on this board who do that.

  3. Racerr11

Call me cal total loser. U obviously know nothing about immigration. People who want to come to this country do the right things, hard working and become legal citizens are very welcome but there must be limits. Call me Cal will never understand. Illegals must go.

    1. Eazy

To say all the dreamers must go when they grew up here and were brought here as children by their families is unbelievably heartless. Most of them are doing exactly what you said they should do. You honestly think they should all be forced out? Racist people will never understand. And since you believe that why not send all whites back to Europe? Most of their ancestors came here under what would now be considered illegal.

Regardless of your political beliefs, we should ALL be proud to call Wenyen one our own, “a WILDCAT” for Life! See the positive instead of negative…be a fountain instead of a drain! Go Cats!
