LaVar Ball is an awful person, take 85

lavar-ball

LaVar Ball is by far the most talked about name in the 2017 Draft Class even though he’s 48 years old, 320 lbs., and won’t even be drafted. The outspoken dad of Lonzo kept his family’s name in the news today when he went on Colin Cowherd’s show and was incredibly rude to the cohost Kristine Leahy. Throughout several exchanges, Ball demeans and chastises Leahy, telling her to, “Stay in your lane,” and “Don’t even talk to me.” Ball even refused to look her in the eye:

And by far, the worst of all:

It is impossible to like this guy.

I agree he is a very dislikeable person. However by printing and drawing attention to his antics, you are giving him EXACTLY what he wants and craves…publicity.

He does it for exactly this reason. That’s what trolls do. He’s a really good troll.

Even if you are having him on your show to cuss him out or blogging about how much you hate him… you are still talking about him and that’s what he wants.

Forbes estimated he got millions of dollars of free advertising by people talking about how ridiculous the shoe was.

And what better show to troll than that of the king of trolls…

Listen, I understand that this guy makes for good radio/TV/whatever because he’s such a nasty person. But if people would just stop giving him a platform, he would go away. It’s a complete shame that he has stolen all of the attention away from his own son. Lonzo is probably a decent kid that will be a great NBA player, but the Lakers are freaking CRAZY for wanting to inherit all that mess. With that said, Go Cats.

    1. JusSayin

They don’t want to stop giving him attention. Look at the ratings of segments he’s on. Look at the clicks you get when his name is in the title on article.

This is what they want. It’s his heel turn and they are allowing him to play the boogie man. He couldn’t do it without them.

I can’t wait till the draft is over and his son is in the NBA. His other two suck and he won’t get near the publicity. Hearing his name is more annoying than hearing about, sorry Brits, Princess Diana or OJ Simpson (both outdated but were talked about non stop forever)

    Kristine is hot as hell…

Here is what led up to this. I saw this coming next time Cowterd had him on.

I wonder if having Lavar in the studio makes Cowturd feel inadequate as a jackass.

  7. Corder

As much as I can’t stand this guy not sure he was that overboard with what he was saying considering what she said prior to this conversation. She tried to make something news worthy just like Turd does everyday and get her name in the headlines just like Ball does. Saying he’s going to have to have women to be successful is alittle crazy for the simple fact that maybe that’s not the consumer he’s marketing to. There are a lot of successful business out there that market to men only or women only. Wouldn’t say either one needs the other.

    1. Corder

He does tell her she’s a great reporter but she tried to dish it out couldn’t take it and then tried to play the victim. If you want equality then don’t get offended when someone dishes it back to you just as you did on the show prior to him coming on. He didn’t threaten her either he was saying if you talk about him that way to expect it in return.

    2. blackmilk23

Yea this isn’t as bad as the slow white guy thing.

    3. Corder

That’s exactly what I was thinking. What he said about lonzos teammates was way out of line and racist at that. This was just two people going at each other with one not being able to back it up and went to playing the victim.

    4. binarysolo

“she tried to dish it out couldn’t take it and then tried to play the victim”

Where do you see Kristine Leahy playing the victim? This buffoon completely disrespects her by not even having the decency to look her in the eye, then goes as far as saying “if you act like that, guess what, something’s coming to ya” in the last clip.

She held her own fine. Big Buffoon Brand’s the one who couldn’t take it so he responded with the threat of physical violence.

  8. blackmilk23

As long as people insist on talking about him on their websites and having him on their shows he will continue to do this. And at this point the media is complicit to anything he does because they give him a platform knowing how he is.

    Another reason to hate Cowherd.

  9. zanraid

    BIG BALLER!

  10. Nahforrealdoh

He is painful to listen to and was incredibly rude here, but on the other hand, the show is an awful format. He has two people, one on either side of him, in booths, and cowherd is bad enough, but the producers seem to give the lady the green light to interrupt at will. So he’s supposed to field all of their concerns swiveling his head 180 degrees every time like a puppet?

He’s an entitled numbskull, and this wasn’t required to prove it. But when you put him in situations like these, even if his reactions are way out of proportion (which they were), it looks like intentional goading for ratings.

I mean, is the point of this format to create as much irritation as possible for the guest, and then call them sexist for paying more attention to cowherd (the famous host) than the random woman interrupting from the back of your head?

Even if he’d done it in a polite way (which he’s incapable of), it’s always gonna be a bad look. Lavar is a joke, and so is the new direction of ESPN.

    1. Corder

Spot on. The format of the show is one of the oddest iv ever seen. I don’t think this is ESPN though. Either way this would be something ESPN would do.

    2. Nahforrealdoh

Good catch. But yeah, the general trend is not going to help any of these networks.

  11. ukgags86

I would have liked a comment from the female reporter in response to Lavar’s comment about “if you have a women’s company” to be something like ” well if you did have a women’s company, then you have the prefect pitch person in your son since he played like a scared little girl against UK when it counted.”

  12. catsarerunnin

    LaVar who???

  13. bbnboy2012

Have never defended Lavar until right now. He did nothing wrong. You left out the earlier videos where she insulted his parenting abilities and said Lonzo was afraid of his own Dad. He has every right to then refuse to acknowledge her criticisms after she personally attacked him. For her to act offended after what SHE SAID FIRST IS RIDICULOUS.

  14. bbnwestky

Quit giving that dbag the press that’s all he is out for

  15. ghost of whackamo

But John Wall is what’s wrong with basketball right Colin? Lol

  16. TheBigjMan55

    What a douche.

  17. Shoulderstrap

what an asswad. it’s a shame the kid has to suffer for his dad’s ignorance.

  18. blueballs80

takes a turd to know a turd and bring a turd on his show. Colin Cowturd brought this clown on for publicity. Its a shame people are giving this phony any airtime. His son will be violated in the NBA,

  19. WildcatCam

Not a Lavar ball or Lonzo ball fan…but she’s ridiculous lol “Are you threatening me?” Dramatic much?

  20. playmorezeppelin

Any major news outlet that is willing to put this man on tv deserves anything that comes out of his mouth. He was incredibly rude, immature, and obnoxious, but that is a fitting punishment for anyone who gives him attention, especially Cowherd.
