It’s easy to look forward to what Malik Monk may do to Arkansas tomorrow, but let’s not forget Mike Anderson is bringing one of the league’s best players to Lexington in Moses Kingsley.
A 6-10, 230-pound big man, Kingsley was named the SEC Preseason Player of the Year and he is the league’s active leader in double-doubles. His production is down just a bit from 15.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in 2015-16Â to 11.1 and 8.8 this year, but he is still a beast nonetheless. Defensively, he is ranked ninth in the country with three blocks per game.
A lot of the talk at today’s UK press conference was about Isaac Humphries’ solid practice yesterday and how he is poised to play well tomorrow. That’s good to hear because he will definitely be needed in countering what Kingsley brings to the table, especially if Bam Adebayo were to get in foul trouble. (Knock on wood.)
Kentucky’s key to the game: Contain Kingsley.
Unless, of course, Malik Monk goes off; then I’m afraid Kingsley can’t even save the Razorbacks.
Big day for the SEC POY race tomorrow.
