Kentucky set a record for most tickets sold to a college basketball scrimmage

If the play on the court wasn’t impressive enough, John Calipari reported after the game that Kentucky set a record for tickets sold to a college basketball scrimmage. The announced attendance was 15,035, which is the best Blue/White game attendance of the Calipari era. Cal was so pleased about it that he said they’ve contacted the Guinness Book of World Records about it.

Records on records.

Technically couldn’t the scrimmage at madness count? Then we’d have the record by a long shot?

I believe the record would be for most attendance at a paid scrimmage – In that case Big Blue Madness would not count since the tickets are officially free.

I get the feeling that Cal, in the last couple days, has stepped it up a notch or two. Sort of a response to the hullaballoo targeted at Nick Saban. Just seems that way.

Tom Crean just added this to his crazy IU “bucket list” of “Things to Achieve Before I’m Fired”….right after “Cut down the nets after a really great practice”.

That’s still a lot of empty seats. The other 9,000 had something better to do?

Not to be a downer……but, when “smell” opened the Yum with their intra-squad scrimmage the attendance was over 21,000.
