A 4 seems about right in my opinion (at least the way we look and the way we’re playing right now)… Our schedule provides ample opportunity to earn a 1 or 2 seed – that is for sure. Quick glance at this bracket – no way (in my opinion) is Michigan anything less than a 1. They are VERY good and the Big 10 isn’t exactly full of world beaters. I could definitely see them in the 26-4 range to finish the regular season… and yes i know they only won last night by 2 points…

Hello everyone. This is my first post here, but I have routinely visited this site for years. As much as I despise the super early bracketologies,I have to grudgingly admit that a #4 seed for us is not a crazy guess. I personally think we will lose about 10 games this year maybe a couple more. We are going to lose a lot of away games. I hope I’m wrong. It is really early, we will get a lot better.

It sort of feels like we’re two years out from a coaching change (lest anything happens differently). Tubby deposited years in advance by winning the NC in 1998 and it took many okay-but-not-great tourny finishes before enough was enough. I don’t think it’s really Cal’s fault and much is left to chance, but if we don’t make a Final Four before 2021, I think Cal will be forced to move on.

Outside of back-to-back losing seasons or scandal I don’t see Calipari ever being FORCED to move on.

“but if we don’t make a Final Four before 2021, I think Cal will be forced to move on.” One of the dumbest things I’ve read. Forced to move on? Do you realize we were in the FF in 2014 and 2015? Hell we’re just short of making it 50% of the time he’s been here. So far we’ve made it to the FF 4 times and missed it 5 since he’s been here. Cal will not be forced to move on. Cal will choose to move on before he’s forced.

I agree, Alabamacat. I think we are a bit overrated in the polls at #10. We are probably more accurately a #15-ish team, so a 3 or 4 seed seems about right. The problem is that we lost badly to Duke and have played a string of cupcakes, and haven’t exactly overwhelmed the cupcakes.

I think if we struggle the next couple of years, Cal will leave of his own accord. I don’t think his ego will tolerate a fall from grace for too long. If he can transition away from the OAD model and find a new approach, that could help extend his tenure. If not, I don’t think the fan base has the patience for what we have been seeing this year and the past two years.

Cals always said he wasn’t coaching forever he wanted to enjoy retirement and that UK was a 10 year job. I think once Brad graduates he will retire. No one knows for sure but that’s my prediction.

Just a horrible waste of time projecting seeds in Dec. disappointed you would post this. Lazy Nick, Lazy.
Also, relax people Cal is amazing and we are fortunate to have him.

We’re a NO SEED because NOONE cares about seeds in DEC

Shocked, SHOCKED that any possible 1st round game would include uOFsmell! Go figure.

As evidenced by #15 Virginia Tech currently stomping VMI — it’s safe to say this bracketology is hopeful. We are awful defensively, we can’t shoot consistently and our inside guys are skinny and will get manhandled by any team with actual big men – say UNC, Michigan State or for example – taking away the only advantage we have against most teams. I foresee Tennessee rocking these guys.
