Kentucky currently 3.5 point favorite over Wichita State

Depending who you ask or where you look, Kentucky opened somewhere in the two to three point range as the favorite out in Las Vegas. That number now seems to be 3.5 in most books around the internet, so get your money in quickly if you like the Cats. The total is 153.5.

I guess I’ll use this space to give my Saturday picks because I’m on Struggle Street this morning and can’t muster the energy to write a big post with explanations. In case you missed it, the first two days of picks here on the site went a healthy 7-3 with a stupid, stupid pick on UK to cover as the third loss of the run. Really dumb play by me, but here are today’s picks (which I don’t love so be careful) to get that one back:

West Virginia/Notre Dame Over 147
Florida State -6
Virginia +2
Arizona -4.5

Reminder: Please don’t put your kid’s college tuition on these because I’m an idiot. But if you decide you want to partake in a little NCAA tournament action, use my referral code at Bovada to sign up and we’ll break the bank together.

I just hope we can keep it respectable, cal is going up against a superior coach , our only chance for a win, will be if we got 15-20 3s.

    1. maximumscott

Haha. Are you serious? Haha. 15-20 3s to win against Wichita St? How about shoot 44% from 2s and 35% from 3s and 75% from FTs. Then just play some above average Defense. Some fans are priceless.

What have you been smokin’ JT?

    3. AGSlater

I agree. Wichita should be favored

    4. CatesDuncan

      Really bruh they’re a 10 seed for a reason

    5. Booby Petrino

That settles it, if Slater agrees that we’re doomed, we’ll be just fine!

    6. AGSlater

      Thanks. Glad I have supporters

Superior coach, my a$$….the guy who looks like an accountant at HR Block.
He’s not in the Missouri Valley now.

Wichita State has played no one, beating up on teams in the truck stop league. We’ll be fine. They barely got past Dayton.

Their mascot has the facial expression of a shocker recipient… not a coincident.

We must give it to them just fast and hard. Leave them no moment to enjoy it.

    1. KYcats11

That last part sounds so messed up

    2. Willis Wolf Tattoo

      That’s what she said

  4. Memphis UK Cat

We win big against them so take the points. Kentucky is ready for them and the hype.

  5. henderblue

Thank you Memphis Cat. Our only chance to win according to #1 is 15-20 3s… They’re not on our talent level#1and #2 if we have to hit 15-20 3s we’re not beating anybody. But we don’t have to do that, especially against inferior talent. But it would be nice to get Monk going. Watch how he moves without the ball. If he’s cutting hard and working to get open, then he will have a good game. Lately he’s been lackadaisical without the ball

A lot of hating in the comments sections last night/this morning. No win in the NCAA tournament is embarrassing. We just went on cruise control too early & NKU made some plays late to make the score look a little closer.

Just remember, in 2011 we needed a last second shot to win the opening round before going to the Final 4. In 2005, Eastern KY gave us all we wanted in the opening round before we lost in OT to Michigan State in the elite 8 (that’s the Sparks shot to send it to OT). In 2004(?) when we lost to UAB in the 2nd round, we cruised in our opening round game.

Moral of the story…don’t read anything into it. It was a win. When they throw the ball up tomorrow the score will be 0-0. Might be a good thing we struggled in the 2nd half last night. I think we’ll play well. It’ll be a battle but I think we’ll win.

The same ol crybabies have been screaming the sky is falling all season. Pay the no mind, they have zero credibility.

Im tired of everyone comparing previos lucky teams. Princeton was much better than NKU. That 4 seed team would beat this years team by 10

  7. SanDiegoDave

Even if the Cats get by WSU, there is no way they’ll beat UCLA. I hope I’m wrong. Frankly, I’m tired of the one and done crap. Winning the weak ass SEC every year and getting rolled in the tournament is getting old. It would be nice to see a lineup chocked full of juniors and seniors rather than NBA lottery pick freshmen who can’t win when it counts.

    1. runningunnin.454

Ask Bill Self about AD, MKG, and Marques Teague, freshmen who couldn’t win when it counted.

    2. syrin23

You mean our team that had one loss? Yeah, they couldn’t win? Such idiots.

    3. SanDiegoDave

Yeah, that ONE time. Anthony Davis is the exception. He will be in the basketball hall of fame one day. There isn’t another Calipari freshman who will. One championship since 1998. Expectations NOT met.

    4. AGSlater

well said. People dont realize 1 title in almost 20 years. Weak

    5. runningunnin.454

So you don’t think John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, and Karl Anthony Towns will get to the HOF?

    6. catsarerunnin

I’m glad I’m not an UCLA fan because I would be really pissy over winning all those titles in the 60s and 70s but hardly any since. Weak weak weak….

  8. henderblue

One ‘weak ass” SEC team just beat a mighty ACC team on their home court. Ole Miss over Syracuse. We’re 4-1 through the first round. So there’s that

    1. runningunnin.454

      Go Rebels!

  9. CatesDuncan

A dude predicted 83-64 Uk. I hope it’s somewhere around there!

  10. CatesDuncan

    They’re a 10 seed for a reason ( I don’t really know why )
