Cmon Furman?? The AP poll is such a joke.

    1. Parker_UKFanNC

      They beat Penn St

    2. runningunnin.454

      No, they beat ‘Nova.

    3. UKLugo

That doesnt mean theyre a Top 25 team. Almost all those other teams receiving votes are better. Who else does Furman have on their schedule? Now theyre gonna go to conference play…how far up are they going to vote them? Too soon to be ranking a team like Furman (and Buffalo, for that matter) that high.

This isn’t Football lugo. A few players can make an instant difference in a team. They won’t get in the top 20 probably but a good coach , style of play , effort an playing can make for a pretty good team. Remember 2010. Pretty big difference in just one year I’d say. Now if this was Football there’s no way Because it takes to long to build, but basketball, in can be done quickly. Thank and I do agree with you that they probably can’t stay there.

How long has it been since the SEC had the most teams (3) in the top ten of any conference in the country?

  3. Rise

Surprised Louisville didn’t make the top 25. They look the part.

  4. Kat4Life

Furman in the top 25 !!! Holy moly

I was at the UNCG game. They showed fight for last 8 minutes, but the first 32 was concerning. They still can’t stop a straight line drive, and offense goes stale because we don’t (yet) have a PG. Struggling at home against mediocre talent, seton hall just lost to Louisville by 5 at home. This game will tell me more than cupcakes at home. I’ve heard all the UNCG is legit, NCAA team etc. they’re projected to finish 3rd in the Southern conference.

    1. Booby Petrino

we’ve heard similar from you, all you do is complain. We get it, you aren’t sold on this team blah blah blah

    2. Jiminy Crickets

Where did I complain Booby?? I said seton hall will prove more than UNCG. I said we have struggled against low level competition. That’s not complaining, that’s stating my opinion

    3. Jiminy Crickets

Ok, what exactly is saying the best team we’ve played since losing to duke is UNCG which is ranked #70 in sagerin?? I said the offense goes stale because we don’t YET have a point guard. You guys get butt hurt when people don’t get excited over struggling to beat #160 Winthrop AT RUPP.

    4. Booby Petrino

your opinion is a complaint, always is. “they can’t stop a straight line drive” “offense goes stale” “struggling at home against mediocre talent”. Always complaining…always.

    5. WatchutalkinboutWillis

Maybe not a complaint as much this time, but always negative “observations” and opinions. You don’t say positive things when the time to say them is appropriate.

This team has a loooong way to go to be a legit FF/NC threat. I’d gladly trade them not being ranked now, for knowing they’d be ranked in the top-10….and worthy of it….in late February.

    1. Aar

Agreed. IMHO, this team is performing and growing the way a talented, young team should. They’re growing every game. I’m enjoying the growth.

One thing I’m starting to realize is that coaches of heavily favored teams use the first 30 minutes of games to extend practices, then go for the win in the last 10 minutes. Thus, I’m not concerned about the Cats “only” playing well for the last 4/8/X minutes of games. I find that blowouts teach teams nothing and the last 30 minutes of blowouts are wasted learning opportunities that give teams and players false confidence. Just another reason to enjoy the struggle that comes with growth.

    2. bigbluebanana

      That’s a great point Aar.

    3. JASUN74

Aar. That was a very good point that I haven’t even thought about. I do believe you’re right I mean I know he was using these games to learn, but the way you said it makes a lot more sense. I just people could see the seasons like some of us. I truly enjoy the first games and the struggles and learning. It’s a process every year. I know every one in the country talks about the process. Lol. But really our guys need ten games just to figure some of Cals looks and demeanor. Hahaha. I honestly would get board with any other coach in the country. Lol. Luckiest fans in the world and half of them here don’t appreciate it. Anyway I almost went on a big long speech. Lol I do that way to much. I do like the way you put that and I agree 100%. Thanks bud

Calipari subs too much. We might shoot the ball a little better if our guys could get in to a flow. His teams are very hard to watch. Not very entertaining!!

    1. WatchutalkinboutWillis

Look back at UK in 96! Non stop subbing and it was awesome.

    2. JASUN74

Does anyone make you watch? Really? Asking for mash tater.

  8. BigolBlue

Fringe top 25 team at best

    1. UKPROF

Thank you. You are correct. Hopefully this team can improve, mature, and gain confidence between now and late February. Right now, as you stated, we are fringe top 25…at best.

    2. BigolBlue

But they could improve. Not title contenders, but possible top 15 talent
