I think this team has potential to be special, especially if Hagans gets back to playing defense the way he did early on last year. I thought at the end of the year his focus was more on offense, maybe trying to “up” his draft status? If he will hound the ball on defense and distribute on offense, we’ll be good, maybe great.

If Quickly has changed that much our backcourt will be scarrrrryyyyyyyy.

Now if Sestina can keeping pulling defenders by dropping 3s and either center plays to potential I see a team that is going to be tough to out in the tourney.

Our backcourt is going to give teams fits. Ashton is the best passer on the team. He should be better at knowing when to run and when to slow down which should reduce his turnovers. He will still be a menace defensively and I expect his scoring to go up from 7 to 10 or 11 PPG. IQ is less of a facilitator and more of a shooter and defender so he will probably spend the bulk of his time at the 2 spot. We will have to see what Tyrese brings to the table but the thought is that he can do everything well. He might lead the team in scoring.

Hagans will be the difference in UK being a really good team and a special team. If he plays anywhere near what he did for those two months, look out. I do not think anyone can sustain that for a whole year, but just be that guy most of the time, and steady the rest, UK will be one of the few in the end.
