Grayson Allen is coming back to Duke, so get ready to hate him some more

Good news for everyone who loves to hate Grayson Allen: he’s returning to Duke for his senior season. Duke just announced the news, and personally, I’m pretty excited about it, because few players have been as fun to slam as he has. Also, if you look at it in terms of Duke’s roster, it may mean Kevin Knox will go elsewhere, which could be good for the Cats.

To celebrate, let’s watch some of Allen’s best trips from the 2016-17 season:

This is great for everybody. The worst-cast-scenario was dUKe getting Duval, Knox and Bamba. With Jackson, Trent Jr and Allen now in the fold, I think that eliminates Bamba and Duval from being dUKies. Too crowded for Duval, and now Knox moves over to the 4 with Carter and Bolden sharing minutes at 5; meaning it’s too crowded for Bamba. Hopefully Knox decides he wants to play the wing, commits to the CATS, Bamba follows suit, and Duval goes to Arizona. Duval and Ayton become best friends, find out they are ineligible together, and rent a room together somewhere near Moscow to play professionally.

Why is it that Duke can get one of their best players to return, but we can barely get Briscoe and Humphries to return? Lol #succeedandproceed

    1. Luether

Maybe because Coach K doesn’t push them all out???

    2. Booby Petrino

Because Allen is afraid he’ll get his ass kicked in the NBA

    3. catsarerunnin

Choice is simple. Become a dUKe fan and your life will bliss.

Because Allen isn’t that great? He wasn’t projected to get drafted.

He is a world-class tripper….too bad it’s not an Olympic event.

  4. 8xchamp

Should have went when he was a non lunatic, non tripping lottery pick. But dukies gonna duke

    Dick!

One more year that none of our guys have to be teamed up with him at the next level.

  7. Catcasey1

He’s afraid he’s going to get his clock cleaned

Eh, honestly this probably is the best thing for him. Coach K has effectively gotten him to throw away his chance at being a first round draft pick, he might as well get a degree to fall back on.

  9. Bluebloodtoo

Does the NBA combine have a maturity test? I’m sure he’d fail that one if they do…

  10. Underdog

Honestly, if you owned an NBA team or were in charge of drafting, would you really want him on your team? Or would you say absolutely NO to his attitude and the potential cancer he would become?

It’s not just the upper management you have to convince, it’s the players too. Each team undoubtedly has one or two players that have a say in who gets drafted. There are probably a fair number of these players who also would take a pass.

It’s best for Peckerwood if he went back to Duke and prove he’s matured to at least a 12 year-old’s level. He’s got so much baggage though, I’m not sure a pristine final year of college can erase the damage he’s done to his career.

He may have to go play in China whenever he goes pro.

Him returning to Duke guarantees Duke will not be special next year. He’s at worst a cancer to team chemistry, and at best a special motivation for opponents to play harder against Duke..

The only player in the NBA that has a say in free agency is Lebron. And even that is a damn shame.

Besides getting a degree, this is a head scratcher. He came in as a 5* star recruit and I don’t think his plan was to stay all 4 years. He should have left after his freshman season, when his stock was hot. 3 years later, his game has been exposed and not to mention his maturity or lack thereof. Not gonna improved his NBA stock any more than what it is today by returning. Maybe he realized the NBA men won’t tolerate his tripping. Maybe he enjoys tripping too much to leave right now.

    1. Luether

Get you facts straight. GA was a 4 Star player in HS – NOT 5 Star. For those who don’t know, there’s a big difference…

    2. dballrb

No diff, between a high 4 and a 5,maybe one aspect of the 5s game is better, that’s about it.

    3. Booby Petrino

Luether always has her panties in a wad. It depends on which service you use. He was a 5 star here, loser… http://www.espn.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/_/id/168682/grayson-allen

Luether has “sources” and granny panties….

Looks like he’s taking a crap in the picture

And not succeeding; what, no doctors at Dook? A bran muffin in the morning would help that.

He’s not a tenth the player Laettner was but we hate him just as much. Well, maybe ALMOST as much. Stomp, trip, it’s all about the same.

    1. runningunnin.454

I don’t remember Laettner setting the NBA on fire; 13 point career average….not exactly Karl Anthony Towns.

  15. Lip Man 1

Of course he’s returning…if he tried tripping someone in the NBA he’d actually get fined and disciplined for it (besides getting knocked on his ass)

  16. catsarerunnin

He took dUKe a long way last season…

  17. keiths

Phony Coach K has cost this kid MILLIONS of dollars talking him into coming back. He was a projected first round pick last year, now wont even get drafted

  18. dballrb

Dook can get there players to stay longer, wish Cal would stop pushing them out the door every year. 1 or 2 players Stay over the last 3 or 4 years and #9….MAYBE #10 in the rafters.Meeks leaving the year Walls class came in would’ve been almost a lock,Teague leaving hurt bad since Cal said they all thought he would come back,Johnson, etc, etc, those were down year in D1 ball 09′-10,/10′-11/,12′-’13/13/14,willie gets hurt. All a S+×T storm…

    1. catsarerunnin

      Uhm…..ok?
