Only $120 per person?! Let’s pack up the family of 4 and spend $500 for tickets, $20 for parking, $50 on food and add in hours getting in and out. Wait I could just get a new __________ with that $, never mind I’m good.

    1. Alex90

I still attend games but Ticket prices for most sporting events are just ridiculous which means I attend less. These athletes aren’t getting paid and the arena is 50 years old so why are ticket prices so high if the demand isn’t anymore? Our crowds at Rupp suck because those are the only people that can afford to go most games.

  2. Racerr11

Been many times and usually out and on the bluegrass in 15-20 minutes.

    1. KayutsBy90

Sorry racerr but I’ve also been many times and parked in many different locations around the arena. There’s no chance you’re on the bluegrass in 20 minutes if you’ve stayed for the entire game.

The price of tickets is usually commensurate with how well the team is playing, the opponent, and the time and location. The fact that lower arena seats are being discounted suggests that attendance and interest are both down.

      SPOT ON V-CAT…

It says a lot about WHERE the UK FAN interest is headed… and we ALL know who is ACCOUNTABLE….

I may be very wrong, but I don’t remember the FAN DISCOUNTS occurring in this manner when Pitino was coaching here and bringing our CATS back from the ashes… even during his first year!

    “Discounted tickets” LOL.

  5. BigolBlue

They should be discounted. Also sitting in upper arena is miserable. Even an average sized man cant even move a muscle.

  6. Righteous1

I would agree that interest is down. Seats are available at every game in Rupp Arena which has become the norm instead of an aberration. I am sure that there is a logical explanation for this. Maybe the reality of another double digit loss team which will be 6 out of the last 10 years and the 8 million that the current coach is being paid to produce these results may be correlated to the lack of sell-outs and interest. I am staying home and watching the Cowboys play myself. God bless those folks who want to go and see this team be lethargic at Rupp Arena as well as on the road.

    1. StillBP

you and BoB definitely need to stay home. No one needs your negativity around. You two should hang out with each other, you can be grumpy old men that hate Cal together.

    2. BigolBlue

      Old? Nahh.

    3. BigolBlue

6 out of 10? Wow. Good stat to know. I figured it was bad. Overpayed!!

    4. RealCatsFan

      StillBP, BoB is actually 13.

I LOVE going to games, but I just can’t. I don’t buy food or drinks, but unless I want to go alone it’s just not in my budget. Even then it’s a stretch. It has become a treat for me now, not a regular thing. Paying off the house, saving for kids college, etc. is more important and the prices are just too incredibly high.

  8. CB3UK

Besides those absurd prices, NFL playoffs are on Saturday evening. Im just DVRing this game and watching football. In what world could I justify spending $120 to watch us play Vanderbilt?

  9. StuckinLville

120? That’s not a discount. In 03 #1 Florida came to town and lower was $22. And they wonder why arenas and stadiums aren’t selling out.

  10. luke.emberton

“Only” $120 that’s so ridiculously overpriced I’ll never go to Rupp arena the environment sucks and I’d rather stay home and eat pizza

  11. VirginiaCat

In fairness, I think that attendance is down overall, not just Kentucky. It doesn’t help that mostly cupcakes are scheduled for home games prior to league play. That said, if Kentucky were the juggernaut projected prior to the start of the season, attendance would be higher. The combination of high ticket prices, weak competition, and lackluster play has resulted in open seats.

  12. RealCatsFan

Attendance is down across the nation. Radio just said it is down 26% for University Six. It’s about dollars and cents, people. Average middle class folks simply can’t swing it anymore. There are only so many one percenters out there willing to blow money in an uncomfortable seat. Make the tickets affordable, and people will come back. Maybe.

  13. michaelb

Only 120 huh? Lol that better be a seat on the bench for that much . It’s funny how the prices went way up and people just aren’t going for it . It’s pretty simple – gonna have to lower the tix 50$ ain’t worth upper level . 100
Wasn’t worth lower 4 years ago even .

  14. michaelb

It should be just general admisionized . Starting at tip.. they just need to help fill up the stands at 15$ upper 40$ lower. That would get people going.

  15. michaelb

If Elvis , Tupac , the Beetles & Abraham Lincoln suited up to play the cats I wouldn’t pay 120$
It all seriousness I hope they get this worked out , I’d like to take my daughter someday .

    1. RealCatsFan

Abe was pretty tall, I would put him at the 5. Tupac for PG, and John, Paul, George and Ringo playing positionless ball with the rock, er, pick n’ roll. Elvus would stand in for Cal. Has great hair, just ljke Cal.
