I don’t think basketball polls in mid-November mean anything, and I don’t believe UK is currently the seventh best college basketball team in the country. All along, this has been about development leading up to February and March. We start five freshmen. With Vanderbilt and Baker being out with injuries, we are at far less than full strength at the moment. By February 1, this will be a different basketball team.

agree with all said. However, even though it will be a different team it will in no way be a title team. Hate having a season knowing from day 1 we have no shot at a title, this is NOT Kentucky Basketball.

    This means nothing.

Less than nothing; like that idiot on ESPN with his brackets for March.

Should have dropped lower imo. Beat Kansas and change my mind.

      Lol

Players do pay attention to polls, though, so maybe this will help the guys get motivated to get their crap together. Learn to communicate on D. Learn to move effectively in a half-court set. Learn how to guard the 3.

and they will learn all that in 1 day? These stupid polls are for tv so they can advertise #2 vs #4 etc.

It shows that we barely beat no names at home

Polls mean nothing….like when, for no reason, they ranked Georgia #1 ahead of Bama.

    2. AGSlater

I agree with you. I like how bcs doesnt come out till later in football. Bball should wait until atleast mid december to make a poll. But even if you do that for AP espn will make their own poll or SI. They should do an official poll like bcs

Still, ranking an SEC East team over Bama made no sense.

    4. AGSlater

Yep. Most ppl knew Bama was the better team, but their pole is based on strength of schedule and more mathematical formulas compared to ap that is human voting. I still think Georgia could give Bama a good game. They would have to win out now to make playoffs
