Bracketology: Kentucky still a five-seed

Our friend Joey Brackets is back with another Bracketology update, and for Kentucky, not a lot has changed. The Cats are still a five-seed, this time in the East Region playing opening round games in Boise, Idaho.

Lunardi has eight SEC teams in, moving Auburn down after their loss to Texas A&M last night and Missouri, Tennessee, and Florida up after wins.

  • Auburn (3)
  • Tennessee (3)
  • Kentucky (5)
  • Florida (7)
  • Missouri (8)
  • Alabama (9)
  • Texas A&M (9)
  • Arkansas (10)

Think what you will of Lunardi’s projections (not sure why he moved Auburn down and not Texas A&M up), but on Sunday afternoon, we’ll get a sneak peek of the actual Selection Committee’s Top 16 teams. As NCAA Director of Media Coordination David Worlock joked last night, the parity in college basketball this season hasn’t made it easy:

What? That’s crazy. The experts on the KSR boards say we’re NIT bound, so this guy is just full of nonsense.

dumb ass-his projections are based on current record. If he projected UK to lose 6 more he would prolly have them out. If he projected UK to win the rest he would prolly have us a 3 seed. I’m sure the KSR fan base are seeing we could lose alot more games and NIT is possible if that happens.

I think he was moreso making fun of the members of BBN who think the sky is falling just because The cats are struggling right now (like we usually do this time of year). But congrats on letting that completely fly over your head and then calling him a dumb ass-for you missing the joke.

Some people shouldn’t be calling other people dumb ass. Especially if you give any credence to Lunardi.

callit: NIT is not happening. Can’t wait until you see you’re wrong. the “KSR fanbase” these days consists of a bunch of idiots like you who think we shouldn’t lose any games just bc we have 5 star players. KSR was a lot better before you nincompoops signed up for an account.

KYJ: you’re correct about most of you post, but I am female.

      runnin: I’m with ya! lol

Looks like Booby threw a rock into a pack of dogs and one yelped.

Mitch is on the committee!! YAYA

I would take this tournament draw and like it! Can we just go ahead and lock this in right now? Not saying it’s easy, by any means, but it could (and likely will) be much worse.

loyola chicago beat Florida at Florida. IF we get by them we lose to WVU in rematch. Their big guy is now fully back and in shape {was njust back when we played them}. Sure you are basing Nova on their loss yesterday, well they were without 2 starters and one of them was their best 3 point guy {over 50%}. Take 2 starters off any team that plays 6 to 7 deep and that hurts.

Any bracket will be tough this year with the way the season has been going. EVERY game seems to be competitive

    3. ClutchCargo

callitlikeiseeit – comparisons of which team beat whichever other team this season are pointless. This tournament will be up for grabs like no other we have seen in a very long time. I’ll still take this bracket and not feel like we got screwed by the committee.

  4. luke_emberton

okay for now what’s is gonna be after we lose to A&M and Auburn?

  5. dismore

Let’s just hope we win enough remaining games to get in the big dance. It could go either way.

AM just beat auburn, and has a 80% predicted likelihood of beating us. They’ve finally got healthy and are winners of 3 straight. Looking at our upcoming schedule that also includes @auburn, @florida and Missouri who could have porter jr back, even if we split those 4 @ 2-2, unless we make run in SEC tourney, a 7-8 seed is more likely.

    1. Jiminy Crickets

That said, beating Arkansas at Arkansas won’t be easy either. Losing last 2, if we go worst case and finish reg season 2-5, or 3-4, an early sec exit could put us out of NCAA tourney. There’s not a lot of wiggle room from here out

  7. KentuckyRob

Yeah, I don’t like our chances at Texas A&M, at Auburn, at Florida
and even at Arkansas. As far as the home games I can see either Bama or Missouri beating us. It’s not looking good in my opinion. It is what it is with this team.

  8. BigBlueNationDude

I would mark us down as losing to loyola in that bracket. Cats wont win 1 game in tourney this year. #calisoverrated

      You hope. Troll

I hope you join my office bracket game this year and donate your entry fee, BBNDud.

lol Slater is still Slater, even when he changes his screen name

  9. bobfromcincy

Jiminy is right. 4-3 to finish conference play or we leave ourselves at the mercy of the committee. The committee will laugh as they exclude us. I personally think we finish 3-4, but I hope I am wrong. Need to steal a win at Arkansas or A&M and then take care of business at home.

Geeze that looks terrible. Boise?!?!? With WVU again.
