Auburn still in the driver’s seat for the SEC

Kentucky’s riding a three-game winning streak but to have a chance at the SEC regular season championship, they’re going to need Auburn to start losing.

After holding off Ole Miss last night, the No. 11 Tigers sit squarely atop the SEC standings, with Kentucky and Florida two games back:

STANDINGS CONFERENCE OVERALL
SEC W-L GB PCT W-L PCT STRK
#11 Auburn 8-1 .889 20-2 .909 W4
#23 Florida 6-3 2 .667 15-7 .682 L1
#21 Kentucky 6-3 2 .667 17-5 .773 W3
#18 Tennessee 5-3 2.5 .625 15-5 .750 W3
Alabama 5-3 2.5 .625 14-7 .667 W1
South Carolina 4-4 3.5 .500 13-8 .619 L1
Arkansas 4-5 4 .444 15-7 .682 L1
Georgia 4-5 4 .444 13-8 .619 W1
Ole Miss 4-5 4 .444 11-11 .500 L2
Mississippi State 3-5 4.5 .375 15-6 .714 W1
Missouri 3-5 4.5 .375 13-8 .619 L3
LSU 3-5 4.5 .375 12-8 .600 L1
Texas A&M 3-6 5 .333 14-8 .636 W1
Vanderbilt 2-7 6 .222 8-14 .364 L1

Auburn’s next three games? Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, and at Georgia. The Aggies are playing well and Georgia knocked off No. 23 Florida in Athens last night, so there are some potential upsets, but really, the Tigers’ next big test will come in two weeks when Kentucky comes to town.

Meanwhile, Kentucky’s schedule just gets tougher, with a road trip to Missouri, a home date with No. 18 Tennessee, and another road game at Texas A&M. After a loss to Georgia, Florida hosts Alabama and LSU before traveling to South Carolina next Saturday.

I’d make a prediction, but this season, I’ve learned the SEC just means more…uncertainty.

Auburn hasn’t played anyone good all year. Cupcake non conf schedule. They are like us in that both our schedules get tougher. Their SEC schedule is backloaded. I doubt we catch them still though.

Didn’t Auburn lose to D-II Barry College in an exhibition game?
And aren’t these wins apt to be vacated?

Unfortunately all Sec schedules aren’t the same Auburn plays a much easier schedule.we probably could get a share of the conference with just one more loss as long as that loss is not at Auburn or at Florida it’s not impossible but will definitely be tough
