Tweet Beat: #hoodmemories

As part of the never-ending quest to bring you University of Kentucky news in the most ridiculous manner possible, I comb the Twitter-verse each week for the funniest, oddest, and sometimes, nearly illegible tweets from your favorite players and personalities. Basically, I read Twitter so you don’t have to. Without further ado, here are the best tweets of the week.

This week, your favorite Kentucky players shared their “#hoodmemories,” which to some meant memories from growing up in the ‘hood, or to others, simply moments from their childhood (personally, I was hoping it meant memories about Jon Hood…#lakehairdontcare!):

Hey Gillie, I hear that Boogie still creeps into the Lodge at night and does that to people’s beds.

By far, the best:

Even Larry Vaught had to make a little fun of that:

Of course the big event of the past week was Big Blue Madness, and of course, everyone had to weigh in on Twitter. You could literally feel the Big Blue love through the computer:

The love didn’t stop there. From Anthony Davis‘ Twitter feed today…

#nohomo?

This has to be one of the more random pictures ever taken, but I love it (and so does Larry Vaught I bet!):

Having a blah week? So is Stevie Johnson:

I know everyone is down on the football team and all, but can someone please go fix Josh Clemons some food??

Danny Trevathan too, while you’re at it.

Seriously, that is just gross, even if he sprinkled the seasoning packet on top. #smdreads

Wayne Turner went to trusty McD’s to find food, but unfortunately they had no idea what he was talking about:

Apparently Aaron Boyd did something to piss his grandmother off…maybe dropping a pass?

Hey, Halloween is almost here and you know what that means…aside from girls turning innocent things into slutty costumes. It’s time for the neighborhood kids to start pulling pranks, right Jacob Tamme?

What a gentle and generous twist on a flaming bag of dog poop.

Josh Hopkins decided to add “twitter recruiter” to his resume this week, trying to tweet Shabazz Muhammad into coming to Kentucky:

Keep it up, Josh.

Speaking of Hollywood, our old friend Enes Kanter returned to Twitter this week after almost a four-month hiatus. One of his first tweets was a picture of his agent, who I can tell is a character:

I’ve heard of butt dials, but apparently there are butt retweets now?

I miss the 90′s.

Think you’re a good cornhole player? You’re obviously no match for Nazr Mohammad and Rajon Rondo:

Looks like Darius Miller and I share a pet peeve: people who wear shorts in cold weather. Flip flops, too.

Awww, our boy Perry Stevenson is all grown up now:

But luckily, this adorable child wearing tiny John Wall ZigTech shoes is not:

Our Bookie Tweet of the Week shows a softer, smoother side to Mr. Theltus Cobbins:

#ItsBusinessTime

Finally, happy happy birthday to KSR alum and Tweet Beat superstar Fake Gimel Martinez, who has a special message for everyone from Rick Pitino:

Enjoy it you must, Fake Gimel! Until next time, RT plz?
