  3. Bulldawg Says:

good to see the OL stacked and a lot of jr’s and sr’s on defense. That could bode well for big blue! I can’t wait to watch my Cats play this year. Thanks for graduating Hartline I really appreciate it! I can get fired up for football again! GBB!

  4. Give'em Hell Cats Says:

  7. RUPPS_rhetoric Says:

8-4…Eternal Optimist, I think this team can be good.

  8. Baby Fatt Jones Says:

Wake me up when basketball starts.

  9. MtnCat Says:

    freshmen have made an impact

  10. Kemp's Gold Chains Says:

Our defense should be really good this year! Especially if we get to have 12 starters on the field like this list suggests.

But seriously, who’s the player that doesn’t start in our base defense? Donte Rumph?

  11. Ollie the Weatherman Says:

Aaron Boyd continues to make a huge impact on Kentucky Football.

  12. UKGirl Says:

Woohoo! Glad to see Miles Simpson working his way up. He came from my HS alma matter.

  13. C-Bone Says:

    I’m with 1. Where’s Faulkner?

  14. bigbluedude Says:

    12. mine too, but please represent us better, its mater, not matter….lol

  15. abray4uk Says:

Where is Michael Bailey??? I figured he would be atop the depth chart at FS!!!!!

  16. BillDozer Says:

#10…its either McDermott or Rumph. I’d guess McDermott based on size alone. Need a large body there at Nose Tackle.

  17. Mr Schwump Says:

Cobble couldn’t beat out a walk-on, Williamson couldn’t beat out the slowest LB in the SEC. Wow.

  18. J A Brooks Says:

Ya where is Faulkner? He got hee late so he may be learning the system still. Interesting tidbit… did u know Donald Russell out performed Sanders in RYds RAvg RecYds and RecAvg? Didn’t know that.

Also where is Baily? What happened to Qua? Why is gainer still our 5th string RB? Are we just really solid there or has he not progressed like they hoped?

  19. Mr Handsome Says:

What happened to ole Aaron Boyd

  20. When Doves Cry Says:

    This is amazing!

  21. Wakecat Says:

Several Questions after seeing the two-deep: (1) Is Mychael Bailey on the team? (2) I thought Justin Henderson was tearing it up at the hybrid DE/LB position behind Ridge Wilson; but not listed. (3) Wasn’t Sam Simpson like the 3rd best center in his HS class? Can’t even scrath the two-deep at C or G; yet a true Freshman has nailed down the back-up LT spot, moving Woods to a back-up Guard. Huge let-down for the Lexington Henry Clay guys, Boyd and Simpson.

  22. correction Says:

    6 –
I will be surprised if Cobble isn’t starting by game 2 or 3. I think his being behind McDermott at this point is just continued motivation by Joker and Co. By the time the SEC slate rolls around, the DT starters will likely be Cobble and Rumph followed by Crawford and McDermott.

    21 –
DT Mark Crawford and S Mychal Bailey are suspended for the first game relating to activities at the end of last season.
Jake Lanefski is considered the best backup interior lineman on the team. So, he will probably be the first sub in for either center or RG.

  23. Jaws2 Says:

We’re going from Cobb to Winston Guy as a returner? Wow. We’re in a heap of trouble on the return team.

  24. GummyBear Says:

Guy has been good as a returner. I remember him taking one to the house as a freshman.

  25. GummyBear Says:

    22. Thank you.. I was wondering about Crawford.

  26. Where's Bookie? Says:

    Will he redshirt?

  27. cracka Says:

our secret is that we have a third safety … that 12th guy will really help us

  28. CincyUKcat Says:

Is it safe to say yet that Aaron Boyd may have been the most over-hyped recruit in recent memory? Still can’t find the field.

  29. Hoss Says:

Aaron Boyd is just getting a free education at this point. What a sorry ass. That dude will turn 40, finally grow up and realize what he pissed away by being a lazy, hard-headed bum his whole life. What a shame.

  30. chief_cat Says:

It’s great to see Mikie Benton’s name appear. I know Kige is gonna have some love for the kid from Russellville!
