If you’ve traveled in and around Ashland, Paintsville, Louisa, Salyersville or Pikeville lately, you might have noticed the new roadside beautification projects. Capitalizing on what could be the greatest day in the history of Commonwealth, Morehead State has placed six billboards reminding everyone of what they certainly can’t forget. That’ there’s a hierarchy of basketball powers in this state.
And we all know the order.

April 21st, 2011 at 10:54 am
would be money well spent if placed somewhere near a main street going in to UL campus.
April 21st, 2011 at 10:55 am
Awesome!
April 21st, 2011 at 10:55 am
Wish they’d put one on I-65 here in Loserville…. or maybe on 64 next to the KFC Yum Yum / Sypher Memorial Planned Parenthood Bucket. “L-YEAH”

Anything that rips UL is funny to me, but this is a classic little brother move. I’d expect UL to do something like this after a meaningless victory in the 1st round of the tourney. Yes, Morehead doesn’t win in the tourney often, but it only shows their akwardness as a legit team that they put up billboards for a victory that will be forgotten in three months.

The order is:
1. UK
2. They rest of you all fight for this spot.

I’m very depressed today to hear of the alledged allegations that my father is a homosexual. When I heard this story, I couldn’t help but cry. I always knew Daddy was “different” but I never had a clue he liked tube steak.

….not so fast 14. I don’t think KY fans will let anyone forget that victory. I’ll bet my next wedgie on it!
April 21st, 2011 at 11:21 am
Wish they’d put on in Louisville…that would be classic.
April 21st, 2011 at 11:23 am

April 21st, 2011 at 11:27 am
Wouldn’t it be great if you found out UK paid for the billboards? But if they did they would be closer to Louisville
April 21st, 2011 at 11:29 am

Morehead State, that’s my alma mater….Just takes me back to the old days when we heard opposing fans chanting, We Want More-Head, We Want More-Head

I am a longtime reader of this site. I have been a fan of uk since I can remember and always stick with them. I still, for the life of me don’t get why so many of you hate Rick piton sooo bad. He saved our program from the dumpster. Do any of you remember our last two titles. I give credit for both to pitino. Tubby won in ’98 I know but Pitino brought in the players. Not Tubby. I’m not saying root for him but have a little class and think about who youre talking about.

As a Morehead graduate in Louisville, I remind every Cards fan about that great day. I still have Pitino and that crying bird picture hanging on my office door. Morehead recently held an event for alumni in Louisville…

28- Rick is a traitor! He could have gone to just about any school and still be loved by Kentucky fans. Instead he went to coach our in-state rival. That was just wrong. No different then Farve being hated in Green Bay. I still cheered for him with the Jets, but the second he put on that purple jersey he was dead to me.
April 21st, 2011 at 12:17 pm
Tobias: Maybe they should look into giving credit where it is deserved.
I know I’d appreciate it! (:
April 21st, 2011 at 12:32 pm
So you are saying the”greatest day in the Commonwealth” didn’t have anything to do with the Wildcats?
April 21st, 2011 at 12:45 pm
Can we start a KSR “donate $1″ campaign to Morehead to help pay for this billboard to be placed in downtown Louisville? Please?
April 21st, 2011 at 1:05 pm
In this comment section: Outdated and unfunny Pitino jokes. LOLOLOL PORCINIS. But, I digress. These signs are awesome, I’m sure there will be on on 64 soon enough. Also, “L Yeah!” is the worst thing I’ve ever heard.
April 21st, 2011 at 1:24 pm
I effign hate Kyle Kuric. Mainly because the Dirty Birds call him “King Kyle” because he won the homecoming king. Worst. Nickname. Ever.
Don’t forget to vote for Elisha Justice as the sexiest man! It’s the only thing Louisville fans can look forward to winning.

#35 I am with ya all the way. I would bet that most of us would at least go 10 dollars.
April 21st, 2011 at 1:40 pm
if i ever had terminal cancer….i would cut down the “miles ahead” billboard outside of frankfort….but im healthy:(
April 21st, 2011 at 1:40 pm
Kentucky Sports Radio stole this picture from the “Trail Blazer” a Morehead State news paper. They own the rights, so you need to credit the staff writer Sarah Beckelheimer and the Trail Blazer.

Thank you, Mr. Virgil! (:

Hey #28, do you suppose Coach K would coach at Carolina? Do you think Coach Smith would coach at Duke? The answer is NO. They have to much respect for their programs to ever go coach at the rival school. And how do you suppose the fans at the respective schools would think after their former coach, who has a court or arena named after him, would feel if they coached at the other school? We have his name on a stupid banner. It would not hurt my feelings if it disappeared. I sure as hell would not take it with me into a new facility.
I lost a lot of repect for Pitino when he chose to coach at UL, the rest when he banged the bimbo in Porcini’s. His arrogance and the talk of joining a new conference, the Big East, brought him back. His pompous ass fits in better with his big city, East coast attitude. Just because he was our coach 14 years ago doesn’t mean we have to give him a pass here in Bluegrass country.
