Jody Demling reports today that Justin Jones of South Carolina has officially decommitted from the UK football team. The decommit has been rumored for a number of weeks, but is now official and opens up another scholarship for the football Cats, the fifth opening as of this moment. Some room to play for the program, and they still have 18 commitments at this time, a record for recent UK classes.

I believe he is from Georgia, not SC.

More reason to destroy Spurrier in a few weeks.
seriously, why does it seem like football players decommit so much more than basketball players? Is football recruiting that much dirtier? Or are basketball players more disciplined and stick to their word?

3) He’s going to commit to South Carolina though

#4 I’m sure it’s pure volume. So much more football players but relative to % I’m sure similar. In addition, so many more offers in volume from schools so kids have chances.

Off the subject but I was wondering if TN would fire Fulmer and hire Lane Kiffen. Young coach (I believe he is 31/32) with ties to the NFL and coached in college at USC under Pete Carroll. Not that I want him to go to TN because I would prefer Fat Fulmer to truly run them in the ground before leaving.

7 - Kiffin will replace Petrino at Arkansas when he weasels his way out of there — possibly before the UK game even, ha.

Football decommitts are more common because there is no early signing period like there is in hoops. Also, if this guy is the best player that decommitts then we will be just fine. Have fun with the Gamecocks Justin, they seem to be a real program on the rise. [roll eyes]

#10 Judging by the number of first place votes Kentucky received just shows how much the Big Blue Nation loves to support our Cats…..even in meaningless polls. We never met a survey that we could not overwhelm.
Give the ESPN poll a couple of more hours and Kentucky will be clearly ranked number ONE!!
