While the rest of you were dallying outside and going about your Sundays, the UK Women’s basketball team beat Vandy, 80-71, marking the first time the program has won in Nashville in 25 years.
Keyla Snowden, who has been slumping as of late, was the high scorer with 22 points, 12 of those coming from behind the arc. Other high scorers include freshwoman Bernisha Pinkett with 14; A’dia Mathies with 13; and All-American Victoria Dunlap with 10 points and 8 rebounds. This win was huge for the Kentucky women, as it keeps them in the hunt for the #2 seed in the SEC Tournament.
You go, girls.

Nice post Tyler. The ladies deserve some recognition. When was the last time they were ranked higher than the men’s team? Mitchell is getting it done.

For reals — yes, you’re hatin’. Check out one of their tourney games in March (which should be on ESPN) – they play an entertaining pressing and uptempo style, and have been doing very well the past few years in the SEC, one of the best (if not the best) women’s b-ball conferences. Wish our football team could say the same. Nice post Tyler – the ladies definitely deserve some recognition for what they’ve achieved the past few years.

I went to the game and i have to say that vandy fans are book smart,but they are the dumbest basketball fans that i’ve ever seen.I had to change seats to keep from telling this one particular older man that he didn’t know the difference between a good foul and a bad foul.Their fans continually booed the most obvious calls.They do have one of the hottest girls on their dance team though.Blonde and one killer rear end.
