In the first step toward a peace treaty between Matt and Mr. Photogenic, ESPN’s Joe Lunardi has placed Kentucky in Washington, D.C. as a five-seed in this week’s edition of Bracketology. The Cats, coming off back-to-back losses, still have the dreaded red arrow pointing down and a first round matchup with the mustache of Old Domnion coach Blaine Taylor. With the field Lunardi currently has, the Cats hold a 4-5 record against tournament teams.
Here are where their opponents fell:
2 – Notre Dame
3 – UConn
4 – North Carolina
4 – Louisville
5 – Florida
6 – Vanderbilt
6 – Tennessee
7 – Washington
10 – Georgia
11 – Alabama

Who cares about rating the brackets in March. Let’s talk recruiting – that’s the real measure of a program under Cal.
We gonnna be sick next year!!!

3- you are the biggest troll in the history of trolls. You are so troll-like that even a full fledged troll thinks you’re a troll.

Record vs. NCAA field is a pretty good indicator. I’d like to know UK’s record vs. the field since the Pitino years. I’d say it would tell us a lot about our potential this year.

Just glancing at this bracket, I do not mind the draw, think it looks like a decent chance for uk to make a run!

This Bracketology is crap. It’s meaningless, and a waste of time. In 5 weeks we’ll see where we stand.

Texas in the Sweet 16…goodbye!
February 7th, 2011 at 5:15 pm
Texas would crush us
February 7th, 2011 at 5:27 pm
Roughest draw yet. Every loss makes it more difficult to make a run to or beyond the Sweet 16. Gotta get two W’s this week to make a move.

I hope we get Notre Dame as the 2 seed and we get bumped up at a 3 seed.

Bracketology is the first cousin of bullsh%tology. Get a life or go have an adult beverage. Geez.

-15-yuk yuk. remember everyone, there well be a new bracket next week, and the week after that, and the……and finally on that sunday next month–the only one that means anything

Just wait, when these three freshmen get drafted in June, it will be the second greatest day in UK history.

I would assume a 2nd round loss to Syracuse with that draw. That would be a tough region if it really happened. Prob won’t tho, ND won’t be a 2, Syracuse will be better than a 4 and cats won’t be a 5 (either better or worse).
February 7th, 2011 at 7:01 pm
This squad will have at least 9 or 10 losses before the NCAAT. Cal has really s@it the bed with this team.
February 7th, 2011 at 7:35 pm
5 seed is being very generous right now. some things have to change and quick. yeah, cal put all his eggs in one basket trying to get kanter and not going for atleast one other true big man. i know its a tough pill to swallow, but fans need to realize that every year, especially the first few years, isnt going to be a 35-3 final four/elite 8 year. there will be bumps in the road once in a while. this is one of those years. after all, we should be used to it after tubby and billy g. things will turn around. maybe not till next year, but they will

Getting a team like ODU in the first round would be a nightmare… Their conference is surprisingly good this year. I really hope, for this teams sake they’re able to push back to a 3 or 4 seed.

Not to be negative, but we are toast in a bracket with Syracuse and Texas. Old Dominion might be a test. We really do not want the dreaded 5-seed!
