Bryan the Intern’s Picks to Click

by @ 10:00 am. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

1. Our buddies at seaofblue.com talk about the recruiting success in the first year of the Billy Gillispie Era.  We need to let these kids actually play at UK before we call him a recruiting genius, BUT he certainly works very hard and more impressively, he gets kids from all around the country.  Amazing how people jumped ship on Coach after the losses of Roderick Flemings and Ater Majok, and now Gillispie is a recruiting GOD, but thats just how fanbase’s do it, I guess.

2. The 10 hottest celebrity fans, including Anna Kournikova, Elisha Cuthbert, and Eva Longoria.  But, you will find a very familiar name in the top spot.

3. OK, whats worse? 1) Cheating in your profession.  2) Cheating on your wife.  3) Sleeping with a 15 year old you met in a bar.  Did you say no comment, Mr. Clemens?

4. John Daly playing golf shirtless.  This just a day after I link the fat kid in his underwear doing exercise.  I am showing you how NOT to live.  Point being, when you get fat, very few situations come out well for you.

5. HAHA.  Told ya so

  1. GoCats Says:

The only thing better than Gillispie’s recruiting is the obsessive nature of UK fans!

  2. Thomas Beisner Says:

I’m sure the University of Arkansas must be proud of Daly representing their school so well with that hat.

Still, with that being said, I would give my right arm to see our most famous alumni doing an interview in the same attire as Daly. Maybe I could finally get that hockey poster out of my head.

  3. CatFanInDC Says:

Regarding Clemens, I heard a different report saying that no actual hanky-panky happened until she was 18, so that’s…you know…uh…something?

I like how that Daily News story points out that Canseco had not only insisted that Clemens never did steroids, but also that Clemens had never cheated on his wife!

  4. travyork Says:

I could have told ya the Spurs would win before the trade. They just knew they had to do something to get better because they could not make it out of the west. At least they tried to do something.

  5. _Blackhawk_ Says:

Roger is offically done in the public eye. He has gone from a lock as a first ballot HOF’er to we will have to wait and see what happens with all of this. I still think he gets in at some point just not the first couple of times unless he can vendicate himself. Right now not looking so good.

  6. AppalachianWonder Says:

For those of us that have been Suns fans since before the Barkley era (and that’s not many of us), please just let us suffer in peace…no need to rub it in. We can’t help that Steve Kerr is an imbicile.

  7. fuzzyzeller Says:

    4) May as well save it. He’s an intern for a reason. Phoenix had to do something and the reason they lost was certainly not the trade. They lost due to Steve Nash’s 4th quarter performances as well as the fact that Nash is one of the worst defenders in the history of the game. Not to mention they have total control of the series if the Spurs didn’t get every whistle and make fluke shot after shot in games 1 and 2, but hey that’s the NBA for ya and that’s why I watch MAYBE 10 games a year. If I want to watch something with a predetermined outcome I’ll start watching wrestling again.

  8. I Am Not Chris Robbins Says:

“sleeping with a 15 year old you met in a bar”? –calm down and report it correctly…sheesh. what people do for headlines..shameful and pathetic.

  9. teevee999 Says:

Hey, does anyone know how they’re handling autographs for the Barnstorming Tour? Can we bring something to have the guys sign, or do they have stuff to buy?

  10. flipisatrip Says:

BTI — what is different this year than any other? No way were they much worse off without Marion. If they had beaten the Spurs in the past then you have an arguement. Shaq played well at the end of the year as did the suns. That first game was just too much to overcome.

  11. Azubuikebicep Says:

I hate the Spurs. Everyone tries to act like Duncan is such a great guy but when you watch the games he argues more calls than anyone on the floor.
Secondly, its kind of sad to watch Shaq at this point. I think he has had the best career, post-Jordan, of any player but he is mediocre at best now.

  12. GoCats Says:

I might get fired for that Kournikova picture where she is looking for loose change in her swimsuit but it was worth it.

  13. wildcatmatt Says:

    12) is that the one they removed?

  14. GoCats Says:

    13) did they remove it? I am afraid to look again. She was pulling down the front of her bikini bottom for some reason.

  15. CHunter Says:

Since when is it not cool for an athlete to have sex with middle schoolers? Did you guys hear about Karl Malone? Athletes, in my opinion could have their choice of grade-A ass, yet go after the young ones. And our parents say, “they didn’t make them like that when I was your age.” Obviously they did.

  16. GoCats Says:

“That’s what I love about High School girls. I keep getting older, and they stay the same age.”

  17. CatFanInDC Says:

Well, again, the reporting is that they weren’t actually getting busy until she was 18. Not that a married man in his late 20s gettin’ his freak on with an 18-year old whom he’s been romancing she was 15 is exactly kosher, but it isn’t statch either.

  18. BravoBigBlue Says:

So now Clemens admits the affair, but claims no sex until she was 18? Yea, I’m buying that since he’s such a truthful guy. Sex with a 15-year old girl is statutory rape in any state, I imagine. And I understand they were in quite a few states.

  19. CatFanInDC Says:

Actually, going from various reputable sources such as the NY Post, the story as it stands now appears to be this: the singer admitted that the story was true, but the story just said they’d been involved for years, without any precise allegations about when they were or weren’t gettin’ it on. Her dad followed that up by claiming that there was no serious romantic involvement between her and Clemens until she was in her 20s. Clemens denies that they ever had any sort of affair at all.

  20. BravoBigBlue Says:

Well, that clears that up. Hall of Fame, here he comes.

  21. CatFanInDC Says:

LOL…yeah, not such a good story for him. I think one article said he’d been having some other affairs as well, although it didn’t name any names.

  22. I'm Just Sayin Says:

You know, Human GROWTH hormone and all. Had to use the “Rocket” on someone I guess.

  23. Clandestine Says:

“I’m hunting for little Mexican girls.” -Karl Malone

  24. goukcatsgo Says:

No u didn’t tell us anything. The spurs have dominated the suns for the last decade. Nothng new…

  25. Bryan the Intern Says:

i am almost inclinded to repost everything said to me the day of trade after i called it one of the worst trades in history, NOBODY agreed with me, people said the Suns were now title contenders and the like, now everybody backs off that like little girls, i dont give two craps about getting credit because anyone with a brain saw that thing wasn’t gonna work

  26. MuhlenberCountyCAT Says:

    #25 Bryan the Intern,

Man the SUNS did not lose because of the trade. They lost because Steve Nash did absolutely nothing but stink on defense. I think we all know that if the SUNS don’t score over 100 points in a game they are going to lose 9 times out of 10. I don’t think this series loss should be blamed on Shaq. It should be blamed on the SUNS inability to stop just one of the big three in Parker, Ginobili and Duncan. Phoenix also had no bench to speak of. The Hornets are loaded with talent off the bench and will be able to limit the oppurtunities of Parker and Ginobili. If the Spurs do get past the Hornets then they will get beat by LA. LA has all the components to beat the Spurs. The have a great defending point guard in D. Fisher, they have alot of big bodies when healthy to throw at Duncan, they have a do it all player in ODOM, they have the best closer in the game in KOBE and they have an athletic big man that can guard the pick and roll in Gasol. I hate the SPURS and can’t wait until they are taken out. I knew Phoenix wouldn’t be able to do, but please don’t blame this on the trade or SHAQ.

  27. flipisatrip Says:

BTI — wow pal, you time to find a lady or a different hobby?

How was it the worse trade in the world when they were no worse off than before it?
Besides a Timmay Duncan 3 pointer (his first of the season) it would likely have been different.

  28. Bryan the Intern Says:

    26) and 27) I would suggest both of you go back to the day the Suns traded for Shaq, look at my post and look at the comments after my post, I was called every stupid name in the book because I called it a bad trade, and yes it was a bad trade because it didnt improve their team and lost them one of their younger stars, and EVERYONE said Shaq would make them a better team defensively and HE DIDNT, I am so sick of people curling away after they are proved wrong like a bunch of little girls, and 26) maybe you should get a girlfriend because you are on here criticizing WAY TOO MUCH

  29. Thomas Beisner Says:

Now that’s how you put the “MF” in BTMFI!

  30. flipisatrip Says:

I was apart of that thread BTI. However, i didn’t call you any names.
Dude, marion was gone at the end of the year! he wanted out!
    WHy not get some value?

wow you have to calm down haha

  31. Bryan the Intern Says:

    29) damn straight man, nobody sticks to their guns even when they are wrong, if the Suns went to the Finals, I would say I was wrong, but 75% of UK fans, for example, hated Ramel and Joe and Billy in December then when they start winning won’t admit they were wrong

  32. groface killah Says:

bti you are turning into quite the annoying little brat

  33. MuhlenberCountyCAT Says:

    WOW BRYAN,

Sorry for stating my opinion on topics. How was I criticizing? Just simply don’t think it was a bad trade. For one like 27 said they were no worse off after the trade than before. Two Shawn Marion wanted out anyway. Three what wrong with taking the chance on Shaq to make them more of a playoff contender when they can dump him now that the season is over and either draft a center or pick one up in free agency. Sorry though for stating my opinion. Really didn’t know I was criticizing. I haven’t even argued with you for a while. BTW I have a beautiful wife and a beautiful daughter. R u the same guy who is employed by ESPN yet always bashes them and actually said you were going to boycott the station all together after the 25 best college players ever was released. Sounds like your a bit of a hypocrite so don’t be mad at me for that. I never called you stupid when you said it was a bad trade or anything of those sorts. If you don’t believe me maybe you should go back and look at the comments.

  34. MuhlenberCountyCAT Says:

#31 I am definitely not one of those people. I have backed all three of the guys you mentioned from day one. Hope you weren’t reffering to me, since I am such a criticizer.

  35. Bryan the Intern Says:

    34) when i made the comment about the girlfriend, it wasn’t meant for you but for the comment after yours, so my bad on that, second I am not employed by ESPN but an ESPN affiliate (thats being technical but nonetheless ESPN doesn’t cut my checks), third, I don’t know how when I was critical a couple months ago that made me a hypocrite, it may have made me stupid to criticize the company that is affiliated with the radio station but not a hypocrite, and lastly these comments about not sticking to your guns really doesn’t apply to you, you argue ALOT but you always try to back yourself up and I respect that, we dont agree alot but if you stick to your thoughts and try to back them up, I am good, the problem I have is the people who come on here, bash me about my opinions, then we it comes out that my thoughts turned out to be right they say “well, I knew that was gonna happen” what it basically means is people come on here to only fight but not actually present anything new to the discussion, its what matt was talking about several days ago about upping the level of comments
