sounds pretty selfish, because the only reason someone that good would go there is to rack up some points and step out of the college game. Only out for himself, why else?

Hawaii over UK? WTF,you can’t compare the two as far as scenery but in two years he’ll be forgotten and will be working for Dog the bounty hunter.Billy has been missing out on a couple of recruits lately and he’s supposed to be a great closer when he gets in these homes.Harrellson,Mc Coy and the Serb looks like the last few remaining.Sutton is not UK caliber,BCG needs guys that can come in now and play not sit next to Carter and talk about Loaded Potato Soup.Please let the weekend end with some good news.

Still not as bad as losing Tyrone Nash two years ago to a prep school. Not pretty however. UK’s recruiting struggles since the great 05 class are almost unbelievable. Plenty of PT available, especially in the front court and we can’t get seem to get anyone to fill the spots.

^ Maybe I should clarify…this isn’t as embarrasing as losing a recruit to a prep school. Obviously Flemings is a much higher caliber player and his talent would have helped us immensely.

Putting a negative spin on this assumes he was being welcomed by the UK staff will all out open arms.
My guess the interest was there, but it was more lukewarm as if he was a back up plan.
Granted he’s going to paradise, but it’s basketball Siberia! How good could he be to end up there???

Come on folks put two and two together.
Red flag #1: He a juco guy. A really, really good juco guy, but a juco guy nonetheless. There are some good ones that come via that route from time-to-time. But it’s a longshot every time. And every time it seems to amount to a eighth or ninth guy at best.
Red Flag #2: He was down to UK and uh! Hawaii…
There are still lots of really good basketball programs out there looking for good talent for next season. And none of those were beating his door down on the final days.
Come on folks, think about it logically.

Since the season ended the only good news has been Galloway commiting other than that it has just been rumors of bad news or actual bad news over and over again. Really really frustrating. Hopefully we will hear some good news soon with Majok, Harrellson or McCoy although I am really starting to doubt it. Especially with Majok.

Think about it logically. We need someone who can put the ball in the basket, and there aren’t many left. If BCG wanted the kid, that is good enough for me. He wasn’t going to be our 8-9th guy that I can guarantee. Look at Harrellson. He is down to St. Louis and UK for the most part. Does that mean he sucks too? No.

Look folks…..Flemings was a long shot at best to qualify academically….rumor has it that Hawaii was really the only choice he had because even though Coach G wanted him, he could not get in school….that is the only feasible explanation. Coach G is not above criticism….but this one can’t be hung on him…..

Read the article. There are direct quotes, included that he signed and cancelled a UK visit. No jumping the gun on this one, unless they made up the quotes. Even by Hawaii standards, that would be a stretch.

No clue on the Serbian guy’s talent. But I do know he visited UK last Sunday and Monday and could wind up a Cat. But the way things are going, he’ll sign with someone else. We’ve lost Pattillo, Flemings, Hopson and many others!!!! Galloway is the ONLY good thing to happen since Miller and Liggins signed.

Hillbilly Slim– Have you lost your mind? Usually you make some good points but on this one, you missed the boat. I am not a jilted UK fan, only a reasonable one.
Let’s break this down.
Patillo was never a serious candidate, he only rode along with Galloway for a free trip.
Flemings is a nice player and would have helped but all indictations were that he needed 21 credits to qualify. Deduct the 9-12 he is getting this semester and that would have meant 3 to 4 classes of summer school. He took the easier road at Hawaii.
Hopson, while a home grown player, he was never really interested in KY and you could question how much BCG was interested in him.
I am sure there are a few that we would scratch our heads at, but not out of these 3 you listed.

There is not one person that posts on here a bigger UK fan than I am. That being said I think we have a serious problem going on at UK. You can give your best thoughts and spin it any way you like. When a ball player turns down the chance to play at UK when they know they will start and most likely play over 30 min or more everyone should be concerned. I think it is way beyond who we have coaching. It has to do with the media trying to kick us in the face every time they can, and all of the negative loud mouth fans that always put our players down even before they get here. (example) Dickie V on ESPN saying you would be crazy to take that job. All of the negative media kills some of our recruiting chances, and some of you ass holes that always talk smack when you are suppost to be a UK fan. We need to get a better national out look about our programe so kids wont be scared to come and play without being dragged through the coals for missing one shot or making a bad play. I hope we all can learn to cheer on the guys we do have. Players will come here if the know we will love them through thick and thin. GO CATS

D-1 stage fright….. some of these JUCO kids subconsciously fear the spotlight/performance pressure they will be under at major universities and take the easy route, the route that will give them an out or maintain their big fish status.
