Back in town for Coach Cal’s ProCamp, former UK point guard John Wall talked glowingly of his one-year home. He also took a few moments to address the pressure that fans seem to be lumping on Brandon Knight and any comparisons to #11. Here is what Wall told Mary Jo Perino:
“I hope people don’t pressure him to do the same thing I did or be like me or anything like that,” said the former UK point guard.
“Just let him come in and play his game and be Brandon Knight. You know, that’s the best he can do because when you try to make somebody play like somebody else and be in their situation that can mess up their confidence. Brandon is a talented enough player, he’s smart in the classroom, so I’m not worried about that part so hopefully he can have a great freshman season.”
Hopefully.

So Huggins took medication, stood up too fast, tripped and fell onto a table in his hotel room in Vegas. Last summer, Huggins got two black eyes when he walked into a door in the middle of the night. In 2008, he was checking phone messages on an airport tarmac when he tripped on a cone, fell and hit his head. So either Huggins is the clumsiest dumbest sumbitch out there, or there’s something fishy with him. Hmmmmmmm

Huggins is a booze hound. These people need help.
What’s wrong with the system is the school administration demands a public statement to make the University Academics shut up with the all the questions and speculation.
That then causes people like Huggins to hide their problem and give a bull$#!+ excuse as to what happened. What happens next time… he loses control of a wheel and plows into your mom and daughter on I-75?
The guy should be able to say he’s an alcoholic without threat of losing his job. He should be hugged instead of compelled to release reality spin press releases. He should seek help without being treated unhuman.

All I want is for him to avergae less than 3 TO’s a game, and 5-6 assists. Hit the open three, and we’re golden. I imagine he’ll far surpass my expectations too.

What I really like about John Wall is that he speaks from his heart as well as his head. There really seems to be no pretense with him. As long as he stays true to who he is and doesn’t embrace all the hype that comes along with the fame and fortune, he will be beloved by the fans, media, and teammates. He has it all in front of him and could become the new face of the NBA in the next few years. I’m banking on it.
