It has been a sad year for area icons. Me being from Kentucky and growing up seeing what Mr. Keightley meant to the University of Kentucky. Now I live in Hamilton Ohio and even though I had always know Joe Nuahall I did not have a full grasp of his importance to this area until I moved up here. It is crazy how they both passed away so close together and the irony that Mr. Keightley died at opening day when the Reds were Honoring Mr. Nuxhall. This world has lost two truely great people. They both were as genuine as they come. They treated everyone like they were important no matter who they were. I know they were different in that Mr. Keightley was never a player but both showed tremendous commitment having combined for over 100 years of service. The world will never be the same.

You know what would be cool? The largest crowd in Rupp Arena’s history to be for Mr. Wildcat’s funeral. I can’t think of anything more fitting.

I’m leaving from Columbia, SC in the morning. I have a feeling I won’t be the only “family member” comming back to say good-bye.

Wild horses couldn’t keep me away…
…on the lighter side of things, I think I’ve heard something to the effect of Adam Delph commiting to walk on with the team…

I just like what it is going to do for basketball in the state of Kentucky on the highschool level. Lots of kids are going to see that they will have a chance to play for the Big Blue and elevate their games accordingly. I think that Gillispie is making a talent pool right here at home.

Which, of course, is remarkable because it insinuates that he wants to be here for the long haul.

If the weather is warm, could this be moved to Commonwealth? Honestly, I think more people will show up than they think. I don’t know if I will be there. In my heart, I will. But I don’t know yet.

#14 Seating will be a problem but I think Rupp is the right place.

I think this is a great show of class by the University to have the Services at Rupp and allow as many people as possible to pay tribute to a wonderful man.

Start up the BCG to Okie State rumor bandwagon now (though I don’t think he’ll go–>neither will Self.)

Was reading through some of the guestbook entries, saw where Brandon Stockton signed, but was really impressed that Digger Phelps signed and left a comment.
