Tayshaun gets a big commercial….and learns the lesson that three repititions of any mantra engrains it in the listener’s head….

FYI guys….I found a interview with Duece Finch (the running back we are competing with Louisville among others to get) on wildcatblitz.com. If you follow UK football it is a must read.

Lets get him!

Thanks for the link 16. Are you gellin?
Couldn’t get the audio, but the thread gave me some info.
March 3rd, 2008 at 9:56 pm
JESUS i just read on the coach’s call in thread that we are planning a “blue out” for the last game of the season???? PLEASE NO. Can we please leave those gimicks to the gimick programs. Those are the most retarded marketing ploys ever. We have the best fans in the world and we do not need “blue outs” to put fans in the seats or to try to get national attention. We are like the beautiful girl who does not need to cake on make-up to look pretty. I hope we dont give into this or we stoop down to louisville’s level. MATT JONES WILL YOU PLEASE TOUCH ON THIS SUBJECT. i hope this is a rumor. I will be at the game but will boycot blue if this is the case. what do you guys think?
March 3rd, 2008 at 9:57 pm
Honestly, isn’t Tayshaun getting paid enough that he doesn’t have to whore himself out to unknown window companies? He should be asking for a raise.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:00 pm
Robshairgel,
Have you ever noticed that the people that criticize those that post a lot never have anything to add to the discussion? They are not actually fans, the only reason they waste their time criticizing us is they are hoping to generate hits on the sites that their names are linked to.
Any real UK fan has no issues with people that have actual comments to make about UK.
GO CATS!!!
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:06 pm
23) Agreed. You two are cool by me.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:07 pm
21) Has nobody noticed? It’s a “blue-out” every game in Rupp. That’s just what Big Blue Nation does.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:11 pm
exactly so lets not put a name on it like we are any of these other wannabe schools.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:15 pm
23) How many football games did you atttend this year?,baketball games? Sitting on a computer day and night does not make you a fan. Tell me please.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:15 pm
I get my windows installed next Monday!!!Thanks Tayshaun.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:16 pm
The coach shied away from the blue out tonight on his call in show did he not?
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:17 pm
Sorry #21, I see nothing wrong with getting fans involved and pumped up for senior day. Maybe this way everyone will stand for the whole game and get loud and stay that way.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:18 pm
29) This blog is the closest my husband has ever gotten to a game.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:21 pm
Catfanatical, Brianacat, taterball, and my favorite GoCatslonelyolwife all have links through their name to sites that you have to pay to be on. They are on here just to generate hits on their website, and our probably getting paid to criticize people on this site because it is free.
#27 Yes I am a fan, I have not been to any games since the UK-Maryland game in 2001(great game by the way). The last football game I went to was 1996. I am on a computer all day because I WORK at a computer. I get paid to sit at a computer from 2:00 PM until usually 1:00 AM. If you see me on here other than those times I either got switched to days for the week or I am commenting on agame during the weekend.
Get over it, you will never get me to stop posting. I am a true UK fan who does not criticize other UK fans.
Please explain to me how me being on here has any affect on you.
GO CATS!!!
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:23 pm
31) Honey you are a such a nerd. Maybe I will take you to a game next year.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:25 pm
GoCats, God bless you. I never knew there to be anything wrong with being a diehard fan. Dont ever let anyone question your fanhood.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:26 pm
1996 Damn you are a huge fan. What a douche!
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:27 pm
In ESPN’s latest bracketology, it has the last teams in as Florida, Virginia Tech, New Mexico, and Maryland…
They have UK as one of the last 4 out…
I take it they’re (Joe L is…) assuming that they’re going to lose their last two games — b/c as things stand now — none of the teams mentioned above have better resumes than UK.
—————RPI—SOS—vs. Top 50 RPI—-Bad Losses
UK————-52 —10—–4-7————–SD (107) and GW (212)
Florida ——-61 —105—-1-5————–LSU (164)
Virginia Tech –56—51—–0-5————–Penn St. (159) Old Dom (121) Rich. (120
New Mexico—–53— 144—–1-4————-NM St. (126) TCU (188)
Maryland——-64—-15—–1-6————–BC 115 Am. Univ. (106)
I created this table in the style of the breakdowns associated with each team included in the bracket…so…
UK’s RPI is better than every one of those teams, their SOS is stronger, they have quadruple the quality wins of any of those teams and a close amount of losses, so it is unreasonable to think any of these teams would grab 3/4 more wins without losing another game (or 2-3). The only weaker spot of UK’s resume is the loss to Gardner Webb.
So, basically what Joe is telling us is that committee is going to count that loss to GW — the 2nd game of the season for a team with a new coach more than they’re going to weigh the grit UK showed in a close game against the #1 RPI team in the nation and in 4 wins against the Top 50…
More and more ESPN analysts show how much of a bias they have for the ACC and against the SEC.
It’s getting ridiculous…
The saving grace for Joe will be if UK does lose its last two games and gets left out of the tourney — as they should in that case…
Here’s to proving ESPN wrong!
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:27 pm
Yes may God bless you with a few friends. lol! 34) I do like your blog by the way.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:29 pm

March 3rd, 2008 at 10:30 pm
Sorry 36) Good stuff!
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:30 pm
What do yall think of that garbage?
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:31 pm
As the great icon Rodney King would say, “can’t we all just get along.”
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:31 pm
thanks Beezner, I do love your site too by the way.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:34 pm
Too big of a deal was made of the loss to Gard.-Webb. Everybody remembers that game and it is keeping people from seeing how well the cats have played lately. Hopefully the committee will see the truth. Yes, we started terribly, but we became a good team along the way.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:36 pm
#36 #43: We have to win these last two games. Finishing strong with Patterson is the only way we will be able to get past those losses early. The committee doesnt take into account that we are a completely different team now. winning our last two and hopefully 2 in the SEC tourney and there is no way they can keep us out.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:37 pm
^without Patterson, sorry
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:38 pm
That’s true — Gotta beat SC and FL…Seth Davis called that game a play-in…such a douchebag.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:41 pm
If we win the next two or we win 1/2 and Vandy loses to Miss. St. — we’ll keep our #2 seed in the SEC tourney. and it looks like our first game would be the winner of Bama vs. Ole Miss.
Also, like Matt said, it would put us on the side of the bracket away from Vandy and UT.
March 3rd, 2008 at 10:50 pm
im just scared they give us the kenyon martin effect. wasnt cincy supposed to get a 1 seed and kenyon tore his knee up and they gave them a 4 seed for no other reason than they wouldnt have him? I hope not but i do see the logic: we were a bubble team, and now were a bubble team sans our best player.

To this day Tay-Tay is my favorite UK baller in history based on pure college talent. I always liked him because the very first time I saw him play I was like—-REG-GIE REG-GIE. Yes I know that I’m the only one here that liked Reggie Miller. It’s always like that.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:14 pm
Congratulations to Randolph Morris, who got his first career NBA rebound tonight. He now has one more rebound than Shagari Alleyne and Lukasz Orbzut.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:17 pm
Just curious what how many games you have been to this year or last has to do with being a fan??
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:21 pm
for you #50 Just a little poke.

March 3rd, 2008 at 11:21 pm
#52 thanks, If anyone gets me tickets I will be happy to go. I live hours from Lexington and watch four kids every weekend so going to games is not realistic for me but that does not mean I am not a fan.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:23 pm
This is WAY off any current sports subject, but as I was channel surfing Monday night, the NFL Network caught my eye. It was a replay of the 1993 Super Bowl (Dallas v. Buffalo). With about 2 minutes left, the cameras pan to the Cowboy’s celebrating on the sideline. Lo and behold, I see Jerry Jones yucking it up with a B-list celeb. This celeb then runs up and gives Nate Newton a Texas-sized bear hug. His name…………………….Gary Busey!!!!!!!
This explains alot, right???
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:28 pm
Well I live in Louisville, but am a football season ticket holder, and get to lexington for as many basketball games I can get tickets/time for plus I always go to the games they play in Louisville that year (Ughhhh UAB), but I just don’t see what that has to do with it.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:31 pm
#53–You can imagine my emotion as I watched this game live on TV. One of my more awkward sports memories.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:33 pm
Brink,
While I was a student, graduated in 96, I never missed a home game, football or basketball and I saw many games on the road including going to three SEC tourneys and the 93 regionals plus the Marty Moore Peach bowl.
I now work 50 hours a week and watch the kids on the weekend while my wife works but I am still obsessed with UK. Not being able to go games in no way, shape or form does not mean you are not a fan.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:36 pm
Not going to games doesn’t make you less of a fan. However, it seems like you can make it a priority every now and then. Scalpers run rampant at the games. You can find a ticket. Plan ahead. There is nothing like Rupp. There is nothing like the ocean of blue at Commonwealth. I am a student. I have only missed 4 home basketball games (Winter Break) and no home football games in the past 2 years. Going to the games gives you a better insight than watching on television and reading on the internet. People think they know so damn much but they are generally clueless. Rupp=Mecca. UK fans need to visit, even if they just go to the museum.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:36 pm
53 Yeah I share your pain on that one as I too have always liked reggie miller, but I have always loved Prince so it all works out.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:41 pm
58 Thats what I’m saying. I too work alot and have children, and although I reserve my 7 or 8 saturdays a year for football (Make that 8-9, I have been to both bowl games also) there is no set schedule for basketball. I know that if I lived farther away from lex than I do now, that there would be no way for me to get to the games. I just don’t see how that would make me less of a fan.
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:44 pm
I promise there is nothing I would love more than to be able to go to a few games every year.
RUPP Arena is the greatest place on earth. Hopefully I will get to see another game in there, I have never even been since they added the Big Screens in the corners.
March 4th, 2008 at 12:41 am
Great to see that the same old b!tches are still on here trying to belittle other posters. I would much rather read comments by fans who enjoy blogging about the Cats and actually add substance to the threads than deal with losers who feel the need to boost their own self-esteem by knocking on others. Seems like they would realize being mean doesn’t actually make you feel better about yourself.
