GREAT thing having Patrick at UK - he will be famous at UK forever

  2. ibleedblue4uk Says:

I think with all the other freshman that are going to leave early
that PPat should at least stay one more season to go up the draft
board. He’s a no brainer lottery pick.

  3. drewky Says:

He could go down as the greatest ever. Seriously.

  4. hymiet Says:

Partick is such an incredible kid! He is truely a class act and we are blessed to have a guy like him on our team. AMAZING!!

  5. LeBowlingAlley Says:

I said it a couple games into the season, and I’ll say it now - he could go down as one of the best to ever play basketball at Kentucky. On top of already being one the most skilled and tough players Kentucky has seen, he has a great head on his shoulders and plays his heart out.

  6. joeyrupption Says:

What a relief. Now I can stop standing outside of the Wildcat Lodge with my boombox blasting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xnhpGvTdFU every night.

  7. hymiet Says:

I think Patrick will get a 4 year degree from UK. His parents made that clear in an interview several months back. They said: The plan is and always will be for Patrick to leave the Universtiy of Kentucky with a Degree in hand. I do not rememeber where I read this but I’m sure Matt and/or other KSR crew members read the same article. He just seems like the kind of guy that knows a 4 year degree will help him before and after the NBA.

  8. cobrecat Says:

You have to think his Mom and Dad did something right, this kid is not an accident. Compare him to some of the spoiled brats that pass thru the NCAA basketball programs, I can see why Coach k cried.

  9. CAnTuckeeBoi Says:

The only problem with that (for Patrick) I think is that stereotypically, players who leave early tend to get a lot more attention in the draft than 4 year players. Take Tayshaun, he had some younger guys go before him that have been really unsuccessful in the NBA, but he took his 2 year pay cut b/c noone wanted to take a chance on him.

  10. knmaynard Says:

Has somebody sent this to Seth Davis yet??? He should have his emailbox jammed with copies of this clip.

By the way, he didn’t have a ton of rebounds, but did anyone else notice how much time he spent at the top of the key wiht the ball? They gravitated toward him, which gave Stevenson more opportunities underneat. McClain is an idiot, busting PP for not having a better rebounding number. I don’t think he even watched the game, listening to him on the way back to Louisville.

When that three went up at the end, I don’t remember hearing anything but a collective sucking of air inside Rupp, then a massive exhale. Unbelievable.

And they do NOT get cheered loudly enough when making great defensive stops. The first half was the best half of defense I have ever seen in person, by any team. It was awesome, and while the crowd is getting better, it should have been much better.

    Just my $.02.

    Awesome News!! Thanks Matt

  12. LeBowlingAlley Says:

9 - i don’t think your logistics are right. it’s not because they play 4 years that they get less attention, it’s because others are good enough that they don’t have to play 4 years to make it into the NBA that they get more attention.

  13. uofkcats Says:

I bet Seth Davis feels like a piece of crap

thats what he gets from getting his information from Tipton

  14. Stmitch Says:

Shame he’s out for the year….

  15. Bryan the Intern Says:

consider this, if Patterson continues on this scoring pace 16+ PPG, and stays all 4 years, he will break Issel’s scoring record, a couple things go into this, namely that he plays more games a season than Issel and also that he will have played 4 years and Issel only played 3, but you also have to consider I am saying this as if Patterson NEVER improves his scoring average, you would assume he would average 20+ points a game his last 2 years

  16. gatoferoz Says:

    yeah right.

  17. gatoferoz Says:

    to number 14

  18. Bryan the Intern Says:

point being he may CRUSH Issel’s recrord if he stays 4 years, which is wishful thinking

  19. Japrick Says:

    6) I needed a laugh and you came through in the clutch. The image of someone standing in front of Wildcat Lodge blaring that song just cracked me up. I’m still laughing.

  20. krebscalledmeagirl Says:

Not that I dont think Patrick is going to stay for atleast one more year, because I honestly do if not more…but of course he is going to say that…what do you expect him to say…”16th in the draft, dang, i might have to test the waters” Once again I believe he will be back, but he was just giving a politically correct answer there.

  21. CAnTuckeeBoi Says:

I agree somewhat, I can’t help but to think that the NBA takes a chance on a younger kid with potential than a proven 4 year plaer. Thats all i was trying to say.

  22. katphan Says:

Is it early to build a statue of 2Pat on Campus?

  23. ragekage Says:

PATTERSON IS OUT FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON!!!!!!!!

  24. jbrady630 Says:

Just because he says he is staying doesnt mean he is staying. Julian Wright and Jeff Green both said that during the tourney last year and guess what….two weeks after they lost both entered. I sure hope he does bec hes not ready yet and seems smart enough to make the right decsion….but dont forget that money talks

  25. andy1131 Says:

well, I guess the ol’ stress fracture solves this mystery…. See ya next year Pat.

  26. cats417 Says:

I love the attribution for who owns this video.

  27. UK’s Patrick Patterson Out For The Rest of the Season Says:

[...] guess this news reduces Patterson’s announcement that he’s staying at Kentucky as a [...]
