[Moderated by Matt Jones]

Its late and I am exhausted so we have a short update. Aaron Boyd, the all-everything Wide Receiver from Henry Clay and brother of former UK QB Shane Boyd will be making his decision in the next week. This much you know. You also likely know that Boyd is a 4-star guy and likely the most important UK recruit of this 2008 Signing Class. You could know that he is down to four schools, Oregon, Missouri, Arkansas and Kentucky and is assuring all reporters that he has no leader. If you are an observant viewer, you know that Kentucky has done a phenomenal job to get on this list after Boyd told us this summer he was barely even considering his hometown school. So you know the background for Boyd and if you are a big Kentucky football recruiting fan, you are on the edge of your seat to see what he will do in the next six days.
What you may not know however is that the place to get the latest news is a source called Educk, a site covering Oregon football. Apparently Boyd told EDuck, after ignoring calls from Oregon St’s EBeaver and South Carolina’s ECock, in a Portland Airport that he would be a Duck. However he has now apparently backed away from this and says he will make the decision this week. Those who have followed Boyd’s recruitment know that he has made lots of comments through the months and that this doesnt necessarily mean that he will end up in Eugene. However it does show that those convinced that there is no way Aaron will go far from home may be somewhat mistaken. While the true amazing legacy of this story is that there is a publication called EDuck and that those who work for it, do so with no apparent self-doubt as to the fact that they are in their 40s and they introduce themselves as being a part of “EDuck”, for UK purposes, the news just means that Aaron Boyd’s saga will likely come down to the wire.
For those of you that missed it, Rob Gidel is back writing during the Signing Day Period and his news below is chocked full of tidbits.
And our man Tom Leach has a great podcast interview with Larry Conley who gives his reasons for why UK has improved in the last few weeks. A must listen….
More throughout the day…..

Join the Cats Aaron. For God sakes Oregon plays on Rich Brooks Field. Don’t play on his field, play for him. Tell Oregon to Duck Off!!!(Sincerest apologies for that horrendous joke)

I just don’t comprehend why Boyd would NOT sign with UK. There is loads of plaing time available, we’ve led the SEC in yards the past 2 seasons, we are his hometown, his brother played here. Going elsewhere would be assinine bordering on traitorous.

Knight (Nike) has contributed a ton of money to the Ducks - they have a super facility, plus Aaron can avoid the pressures of playing at UK.
I fear our prized recruit will be playing for/at Coach Brook’s legacy.

#2 I thought the joke was funny. I really hope we can get most of these recruits were after so we can become a football school not just a school that had a few good years. I have watched Kentucky football for a long time even all of those delayed games that I knew we lost by 30 or 40 and still loved watching my cats. The last 2 years has been great for us and I hope we can keep it up. GO CATS

O.k. Matt, the podcast with L. Connley a must listen? I didn’t hear anything new, however as he thinks Washington St. is as good as anyone I am now expecting them to be in the championship game.

EBeaver and ECock … lol

A couple of things to consider with this Educks story.
A. There are a couple of UK websites (not this one) who are trying to make a name for themselves who have been caught red handed CREATING and LYING about stories in which they say players have commited when they really haven’t. Think McCadoo…
B. Also consider that this is a big time Oregon website. They could take, “I really liked the visit. I can see myself playing here” and turn it into, Boyd says he will be playing here.
If I had to bet UK vs. the field, I’d take UK.

In Boyd’s interview with Gabe last night on Sports Nightly, I inferred that he really liked the idea of playing for Petrino at Arkansas. He said he would get the ball a lot in that system. He also said that Petrino would get that program back competing for national honors. If I was an Arkansas fan, I would feel good about Boyd following that interview. We’ll see…

“He also said that Petrino would get that program back …” I’m sorry but I wouldn’t put much into what Petrino said. That man has two mouths and forked tongues. If he stays at Arkansas three years - I’ll be shocked. If I was Boyd - I’d be afraid of that coach.

You gotta think the uncertainty at QB for the Cats is weighing on his decision. I don’t recall Pulley being a great passer. I hope Boyd signs but I’m not counting on it.

#11-When Pulley filled in for Woodson three years ago AS A TRUE FRESHMAN he actually looked pretty good on a TERRIBLE team.

I believe Pulley will be better than Dre - plus he’ll have the ability to run like current Duck QB Dixon. I recall Pulley gave all Dre could handle his Freshman year - now - he’s older, wiser, and better.

If we end up missing on Boyd and McAdoo after losing Bohannon RB should reevaluate his recruiting procedures. This would be a terrible end to a season of promise.

8 For God sakes shut up about people making up stories. Sometimes information is wrong. Your agenda has grown oldf with me and many others.

Over the next four years, I think UK will be fully as good as these other programs, and the system at UK is good for a receiver. No question, he would be a top offensive option at UK. His pro prospects are as good at UK as any of these programs.
I think bottom line, how does he feel about Lexington as a long-term home, and how important is it for family and friends to be able to watch him.
In college, you make a lot of connections that help you in life after sports, and if he likes, and plan long-term to live in Kentucky, he will be at UK. If he really does not care, then it is a toss-up between UK and all 4 programs!

I’m sorry I know I am a crazy fan, but it just makes me want to kick the ass of kids from Kentucky who don’t want to play for Kentucky. For me it would be an absolute No Brainer. I probably would have committed to Kentucky in Kindergarten. Scotty Hopson, Jon Hood if these two guys end up going somewhere else I will absolutely boo the shit out of them every time they play or anytime if I ever saw them in public. I will even personally go their parents homes, or places of work since they live close and give them a piece of my mind. The talent in the state of Kentucky is finally rising in football and basketball, but we can’t get the best football player and the second best basketball player. This shit really ticks me off.
