If we take into account the number of Kentucky fans who a) read this site b) have a smart phone and c) are actually in Nashville, I’m going to say there’s about a 15% chance you can actually look up from your screen and see this building. Easily Nashville’s most well-known edifice, the AT&T Building (better known as the Batman Building) was built in 1994 and at 617 ft. is the tallest building in the state of Tennessee. I really have nothing else clever to add to that. On to a quick N&V…
-Biggest news (at least to Kentucky fans) was UK got past Alabama and Tennessee beat Ole Miss to set up a rubber match tomorrow at 1pm EST. I think Brett Dawson said it best on Twitter when he said that the atmosphere at UK/UT should hearken back to the 90’s SEC Tournament battles between UK and Arkansas. Atmosphere will definitely be electric and I am excited for the opportunity to hate Steven Pearl even more. And, via Beisner, we see that when it comes to class, UT fans are who we thought they were:

-In case you haven’t seen this, it’s video of Evan Turner wrapping up the Player of the Year award.
“>
-Dan Werner is still terrible at basketball. Nothing more, nothing less.
-Soccer WAGs (Wives and Girlfriends) will be all the rage this summer during the World Cup. Do yourself a favor and spend some time studying these ladies.
Like I said, it was a quick and dirty News and Views tonight. Lots of good basketball played today and tomorrow will see even more. Check back throughout the day as we follow all the action from Nashville as the bracket picture starts to become a bit more clear. Go Cats!

hey michigan. guard the inbound pass stupid!!! was thad motta about to smack a b*tch?
March 12th, 2010 at 11:43 pm
Evans was 5-14 from the floor, and scored 18 pts. So, how can he be consided to have won POY, just because he hit a lucky 35 ft. shoot over the whole game Wall had?
March 12th, 2010 at 11:45 pm
2 My thoughts exactly!! Also watch it again, It takes a full second after he touches the ball for the clock to start.
March 12th, 2010 at 11:46 pm
Evan Turner for #2
March 12th, 2010 at 11:47 pm
3 I noticed the same thing– never mentioned on ESPN.
March 12th, 2010 at 11:50 pm
Thinking about going to work for Joanne Gair…
March 12th, 2010 at 11:52 pm
5 I’m not surprised, If that would have been wall the would have timed it to the nanosecond.
March 12th, 2010 at 11:53 pm
#2 Because a lot of people saw it. It was clutch, it was awesome, it was Kobe/Bron man move type stuff comma
He was like ” ah h*ll no, we winnin this ” I was jumping around yellin: Manny Harris! Yeah Boiy!!! “because he scored like 15 points strait or something”. Then when he hit that shot I was I like, man that’s cooolld blooded. =
March 12th, 2010 at 11:54 pm
Is anyone else as nervous/worried about the game tommorrow as I am? I just don’t want to lose to the Vols EVER, but especially after we just lost to them 2 weeks ago. Please guys, so up ready to play from the tip until to final buzzer.
March 12th, 2010 at 11:56 pm
8 So you were watching the Ohio St game instead of the UK game???
March 12th, 2010 at 11:59 pm
I hope the Cats have gotten all the sluggishness out of their system and will come prepared to exact revenge from those smuggly disgusting Orange PsOS tomorrow. I’m looking and hoping for a total beatdown. I want to see UK come out with fire in their eyes, ready to play 40 minutes of the toughest best basketball they’ve played all year. No mercy, guys — give ‘em hell!
March 13th, 2010 at 12:00 am
#8 That would make it the shot of the day, not make Evan Turner POY.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:02 am
#10 Hey man I’ve got like 7 TV’s and a 1080P 125” Projector. So not instead
I was watching all the games. I watch like 400 NBA games a year btw lmao
March 13th, 2010 at 12:03 am
And it came on at 12:00 if I recall.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:10 am
Beilein for Anti-Coach of the Year. No one on the inbounder OR Evan Turner. They had a timeout too. Oh my GOD. Beilein should lose his job. That is the cherry on top.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:10 am
#12 I guess your rite, I just get crazy when I see buzzer beaters : D
That one was as cold blooded as Wall’s first one IMO.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:11 am
UK had better come out a little hungrier tomorrow and play like they’re on the bubble or else they could get crushed. Just because they’re the Top team in the SEC and #2 team in the land doesn’t give them the right to play soft and lazy. And Darius Miller couldn’t throw a ball in the ocean from an airplane. What’s wrong with that kid???
March 13th, 2010 at 12:12 am
Voters are easily swayed. It’s the cool thing to do now to call Evan Turner POY. That shot just fuels their argument. “Look how clutch and awesome and totally ballin’ he is!” If he doesn’t win it at this point, I’ll be shocked.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:14 am
Also, that was not a knock at #8, I just noticed after I clicked “submit” that we said almost the same thing lol.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:20 am
It’s obvious that ESPN has done their best to promote Turner as the POY. Each analyst has given their reason why he should be and they even call him the POY when doing his highlights. They don’t even mention Wall as a possible candidate anymore. That shot sealed it for him today. He deserves it, but I would take a trip to the Final 4 over getting knocked out in the Sweet 16 like OSU will anyday.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:21 am
#19 Hey, I like getting knocked.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:21 am
You looked at it wrong. The clock was right.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:23 am
What do u got against steve pearl? He was a walk on that wanted to play for his dad and got the opportunity. I am a true uk fan but ur jealousy towards the guy is crazy. I respect him.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:23 am
“Hey, 19!” was a good Steely Dan song.
The only thing I like gettin’ knocked is my boots.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:25 am
#22 It was off .47 secs almost half second. My screen is soo big, the guy that starts the clock is lifesize….I saw him.. he was .47 late
lol
March 13th, 2010 at 12:29 am
#24 “Oh god, until I saw :”The only thing I like gettin’ knocked is my boots.”
I thought you were my dad..
He’s crazy and rocks Steely Dan like it’s rap, ghetto style downtown Lex.
lol
March 13th, 2010 at 12:31 am
17) i dont know who you have been watching, but miller has been playing great the past couple of weeks. he had a bad day today, but lets give him the benefit of the doubt
March 13th, 2010 at 12:31 am
It is not just ESPN that is pushing the Evan Turner for POY, KSR is running post for him after a 5-14 shoting game. But personally, I would take a NCAA title over Wall getting a POY.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:32 am
#23 I have no respect for him, just because he looks like Bruce Pearl.
Boom Roasted
March 13th, 2010 at 12:32 am
wow they dint start the clock on time he caught it then when he dribbled they started the clock not when he touched it wow lucky asses.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:40 am
17: I was nervous today dude. Please give me a chance to prove to you that I’m the best “3″ player on the team. Dodson looked lost today and Harris just can’t play at this level. And my boy Hood is the best shooter out of all of us but Coach won’t give him a chance so I guess I’m going to have to step it up tomorrow.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:41 am
I can’t believe the clock failing to start when Turner touches the ball isn’t getting mentioned by any of the talking heads on tv. You see it every time they run the replay, he catches it and has time to take one bounce before the clock starts. That error gave him the cushion he needed to get the shot off.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:42 am
I don’t know what you guys are smokin’ but I want some of it.
KSR Army, as much as you and I know that Wall is the player of the year, Turner’s incredible 3, luck or not, gives him the POY, period.
He was probably already there, but that just sealed it.
And if you can’t accept how awesome that was in a darn near ultimate clutch moment, then you’re nothing but a fan with your blinders on.
That was one freakin clutch shot that only studs make. Let’s give credit where credit is due, people.
And you’re talkin’ to an ultimate homer here - a ‘93 blue blood grad if there ever was one. Turner deserves it just as much as JWall. The guy played through a BROKEN BACK for cryin’ out loud.
I just turned 40 yesterday, and I know how difficult it is just to WALK around with a busted back. Please people, be a fan, but don’t be stupid.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:43 am
#31 He had a chance! He was in there for 13 seconds ! Whats he do? Holds the ball until the buzzer.
/sarcasm

We are at the SEC tourney and this has to be the most fun I have had as a Cat fan. I heard Mississippi State fans grumbling after their game because most of them do not have and probably will not be able to get tickets for tomorrow. I heard one bulldog fan say “Damn, UK owns this town”. We left the Vandy game early and my celebrity moment of the weekend has been seeing Oscar Combs standing on the corner looking lost. We asked him if he needed a ride and he says “nah, i believe my hotel is right up the street”. Poor guy is probably up way past his bedtime. Another fun celebrity moment, Jeff Sheppard sitting two rows in front of me in the nosebleeds. You know tickets are hard to come by if one of our most beloved Cats is sitting in the nosebleeds watching his former team play. Tomorrow is gonna be incredible, im betting on a 85-15 pro UK crowd tomorrow. Great tournament, Great Weekend, Great time.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:46 am
#33 “I don’t know what you guys are smokin’ but I want some of it.”
I know this guy Brian Williams that can hook you up in TN rite now.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:48 am
#35 - Wish I was there with you brother! Go Cats!
Oh, and Cats by 15 tomorrow. Revenge factor - Book it, Dan-O.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:50 am
I must add, the basketball has been very mediocre so far in this tourney. No team looks great so far. Mississippi State shot lights out in the first half tonight, then kind of let up in 2nd half. Doesnt matter, the environment for this tournament has been epic. The sea of blue on broadway before and between games will be an image that will be etched in my memory for a long, long time. GO BIG BLUE!!
March 13th, 2010 at 12:51 am
BPsycho, please give me the address! I’m currently trapped inside the house with my non-basketball-loving-excuse-for-a-wife!
And to think I actually agreed to “for better or for worse”….
What a fool I was.
March 13th, 2010 at 12:57 am
I forgot to thank Mr. Barker for the laugh!
“Easily Nashville’s most well-known edifice…”
Yep. Very few people know about Ryman Auditorium.

Hope the cats kick UT back to Knoxville tomorrow and send them out with the entire team doing the JOHN WALL dance as they leave. GO CATS.
March 13th, 2010 at 1:10 am

March 13th, 2010 at 1:16 am

March 13th, 2010 at 1:19 am
Thanks, dude.
It’s gonna be a 5-hour drive to get away from this psycho (no offense) hosebeast, but it’ll be worth it to hang out with the cream of UT drug culture.
Damn, why didn’t I think of this before? I’ll bogart their drugs, then watch the Cats destroy their very being!
I’ve been resurrected.
March 13th, 2010 at 2:40 am
2.2 seconds did elapse before the shot went up, but you have to blame the Michigan defense as well…No man on the inbounds means you should have everyone guarded, right? Turner didn’t see a man within fifteen feet of him until he left the ground.
March 13th, 2010 at 6:35 am
this comment section is screwed up.
March 13th, 2010 at 8:19 am
48 quit crying its not like he is calling Tennesse players and calling them explict names or threating them,
He is saying it on a uk site if they are on it reading this then thats there problem
March 13th, 2010 at 8:43 am
Did anybody see Bobby Maze’s “Floorslap” on defense yesterday ? Was Duke one of the schools that was recruiting him ?
March 13th, 2010 at 8:46 am
I saw drew frank’s eyebrows at the wildhorse saloon yesterday.
March 13th, 2010 at 8:57 am
When Scotty gets to Iraq to play ball next year, the ‘Scotty Hopson Dance’ will cover the middle east like a burka…
March 13th, 2010 at 9:22 am
51- Got any pictures of Lisa G’s poop?
March 13th, 2010 at 9:38 am
WHAS TV in Louisville will have a live pregame show starting at 12:30 from the SEC Tourney.
March 13th, 2010 at 9:43 am
Evan who? I’ll keep saying it until I’m blue in the face: Evan Turner is just another proper subset of “we” in “It’s John Wall’s world, and we just live in it”.
March 13th, 2010 at 9:45 am
Go to ESPN and search for Karen Sypher. You got to see what comes up
March 13th, 2010 at 10:02 am
Who was Thad Matta yelling at?
March 13th, 2010 at 10:02 am
Look people, he got the shot off with at least .4 left on the clock, could be by .5 but hitting pause on the video post you just can’t tell. I don’t think he gained that much time by the clock not starting anyhow.
I don’t give a sh** who wins POY as long as we win the NC. We’ve never had a POY and have 7 so why change it now!? GO CATS!!!
