This year may not have been the best for Word of God on a team level (17-8, 4-2 in conference), but CJ Leslie had a pretty good year himself (19.9 ppg/over a quarter of his team’s average points). This video from One Entertainment chronicles some of the highlights from CJ’s senior year, including the ridiculous alley oop from the playoffs. On the recruiting front, ESPN.com recently reported that CJ is down to UK, NC State and Florida.

I saw where Quincy Miller said on Twitter that him and Deuce Bello will be in Louisville, KY this weekend. Is that for a visit to UL?
March 4th, 2010 at 12:31 pm
Leslie will choose N.C. State, mark it down. Of course I’m just guessing.

I want this kid in blue bad!
Is the Cousy Award decided solely on fan votes?
March 4th, 2010 at 12:35 pm
It’s about time we get one of these studs on board… We need at least Knight or Selby + Leslie or Ross or Kanter.
March 4th, 2010 at 12:37 pm
If we lose out on a Raleigh kid to NC State, I don’t think we or anybody else were ever really in it.

Can he shoot Dustin?
March 4th, 2010 at 12:49 pm
I would hope that with our success this year, and Wall being a former teammate working on him too, that if it is between these 3 schools then we have this guy no question. Why on earth would he go to Fla or NC State if he wants to be in the spotlight and be seen for what he is. Not to mention the best coach and the best program in history, hello?!
March 4th, 2010 at 12:51 pm
21 I hope this kid comes also, but sometimes the spotlight has to be shared and no all the kids can handle not being the stud on the floor, It is just amazing we landed 3 this yr plus the one we had, it takes a special kid to share the rock and the lights with his team.
March 4th, 2010 at 12:52 pm
WOW!!
March 4th, 2010 at 12:54 pm
18)Cousins move at 3:45 and then Wall’s ensuing crossover, Nice!
March 4th, 2010 at 12:56 pm
Leslie’s awesome…….but….why in the hell would someone of his caliber choose to go to Florida where they don’t even fill their game seats……or NC State, which is considered here in NC as the low-class, redneck, bottom of the rung school? Makes no sense to me!
March 4th, 2010 at 12:57 pm
One thing I have heard all yr was these guys would wait to see how all the talent we have would bond, I have to say with the stars we have I don’t see anyone saying you can have to many stars these guys are great together and when you get to the NBA you will have to work with superstars so all I can say is if I was a NBA scout I would list that high on my list, These guys are team player not just out for there own.

IS THAT A 8FT GOAL?
March 4th, 2010 at 1:02 pm
22 – Good point, and I agree. But, like 26 said, we have shown this year it can be done. Also, I was thinking more along the lines of Leslie wanting to go to a successful program because we win. Can you imagine someone like him going to NC State and having to get used to losing on a regular basis? I’m not knocking any school, but it’s the truth. He would be miserable; and if he has to go to college before he can go pro, he might as well have fun and win big in the meantime.
March 4th, 2010 at 1:06 pm
28 As for me I would rather go to a great school and have my shot at winning, I think thats how Cal has had success with one and done kids, he picks kids that want to win as a team instead of just a player who wants all the fame. I love to watch our guys play but what I love the most is how good they play together,
March 4th, 2010 at 1:11 pm
22–I agree, but remember that just last year this kid was teammates with John Wall, so I think he’s used to having other superstars sharing the spotlight.
March 4th, 2010 at 1:17 pm
30 Sorry I did’nt mean this kid by his self I was just talking about players in general. Not all can handle that kind of cituation.
March 4th, 2010 at 1:18 pm
29 – Same here, I would much rather watch our “all-star team” we have now play together and crush people than to watch Wall or any other player we have do it all themselves. That’s not nealry as impressive. What is, however, is how Cal has managed to get all these big names to share the rock.

kids UNREAL….cant wait to see him in blue and white!
March 4th, 2010 at 1:50 pm
Worried sbout a guy who can’t lead his team to anything better than a 17 – 8 record. We r kentucky we don’t need guys that can’t even lead their high school team!
March 4th, 2010 at 2:34 pm
NC State sucks….child please..
March 4th, 2010 at 4:28 pm
How did a HS ball team with Wall and Leslie loose that many games last year? Unbelievable!
March 4th, 2010 at 6:51 pm
I would think UK would have a great shot here. Florida has everyone back (nobody going pro there) with Macklin, Tyus, Parsons, Kadji..etc. Their front line is stacked so minutes there would be harder to get. NC State stinks. They are in last place in the ACC, and even if he goes there chances are they would stay in the celler behind Duke, UNC, Tech..etc and the other ACC powers. Can’t imagine he would want to play in such a situation where the coach is walking a tight rope, and where the NIT is a stretch, where no cover on espn, no NBA scouts going to the game..etc. Best of all is the appeal of Calipari. He is a tremendous developer of talent and players. He will get you to the next level a lot quicker than Donovan or Sid Lowe.

Am I just being optimistic here or….?
March 5th, 2010 at 12:09 am
The kid’s got great physical tools no question. Glad he can dunk. Would have been nice to see what else he could do –yeah I saw some ballhandling nonsense on the perimeter. I think he’s got a lot of growing to do as a player and I’d definitely like to see what Cal could
accomplish with him. Hope we get him.
