The football Cats will try to make it 2-for-2 on the day when they hit the field in a couple hours against the Florida St. Cheatin’ Seminoles in Nashville. Rumors are swirling that with the depleted roster, Bobby Bowden is looking for some eligibility for Burt Reynolds and his hard hitting mustache. No matter who plays, the Cats should be able to take care of buisness against the Noles. With most of the skill players for UK playing their last game, there should be no extra motivation needed. But, Florida St. will probably throw everything and more early in the game, so if UK falls behind early, we could be in trouble. Rich Brooks team must play better than it has the second half on the season to secure an easy win like most predict. This game probably stays close for 2-3 quarters, but the fact FSU is playing with a smaller roster catches up with them in the 4th quarter, where the Cats run the ball for large chunks of yards. I see this game playing out much like the Arkansas game, Cats are sloppy for a half but gut it out in the end. Cats 31, FSU 21. Use this thread to put your money where your mouth is…KSR does not approve of illegal gaming, so use monopoly money.

FSU’s O isn’t very good but our D, although improved, isn’t either. Watch special teams, it will be the key. If it comes down to a FG…..well let’s hope it doesn’t.

Is it a requirement for FSU kickers to have a beer gut?
December 31st, 2007 at 5:58 pm
Disappointing to have your seniors making these kind of mistakes. Hopefully they will cut out the turnovers in the 2nd half. It’s obvious that UK does things the right way and FSU is a classless bunch of cheaters. It’s good vs. evil.
December 31st, 2007 at 6:04 pm
Has anyone else grown tired of listening to the color commentator mention Florida’s 36 player handicap? Every other sentence out of his mouth is related to Florida’s penalty. Geez, give it a break dude…
Kentucky should be up 3 touchdowns instead of tied at the half… uggghhh.
Go ‘Cats
December 31st, 2007 at 6:04 pm
Did the commentator graduate from FSU or something … seems like he’s rooting for FSU .
December 31st, 2007 at 6:06 pm
What a joke… Woodson hasn’t played well in the last 5 games. We’re sleep-walking out there. Give me Derrick Locke over Rafael Little any day. Without Stevie Johnson, we’re down 2 touchdowns right now. Now, all we get to hear about is how great Bobby Bowden is. Without the FSU botched punt, we wouldn’t be tied.
This team has usually been a much better ball club in the 2nd half of games this year, so that’s something we can hope for today. Our defense can’t do much more than they already have, though. Our offense is going to have to decide to come to play for us to win this game. We can’t afford any more turnovers or wasted possessions.
December 31st, 2007 at 6:09 pm
JoeB, I agree. The defense has been stellar!!! A great goal line stance only to have the offense negate that effort by turning it over on the next play via an interception for a touchdpown.
Come on offense, get it together!!!
December 31st, 2007 at 6:24 pm
It should be 21 or 28 to zip.
Get it together guys.
December 31st, 2007 at 6:31 pm
If we keep playing with no fire we are going to lose this game!
December 31st, 2007 at 6:49 pm
What the hell is wrong with this team!!! Take a timeout and fumble the ball! Yes we scored, but it will soon catch up with us if we keep it up!!!
December 31st, 2007 at 6:50 pm
That was scary, we are lucky to have scored there.
December 31st, 2007 at 7:18 pm
Who let the cats out…
December 31st, 2007 at 7:19 pm
Not trying to be a pessimistic turd, but San Diego got blown out today by Marshall.
December 31st, 2007 at 7:46 pm
This is about as crappy a game I’ve seen us play all year.
December 31st, 2007 at 7:57 pm
This is my first post on the site. UK grad out in Denver but I like the site. I would like to point out that if you go to Rivals.com, and look at the recruiting classes of FSU vs UK during the 04-07 period, you’ll see that FSU has 52 four-star recruits and 9 five-star recruits during the period. UK has only 5 four-stars and of course 0 five-stars during that time. So I am tired of hearing how shorthanded FSU is for this game. Yeah, some of their guys have less experience, and they are not as deep for this game, but they are replacing their starters with four-star guys. I don’t have much sympathy. At the very least, FSU’s disadvantage is being overplayed here.

This is hard to watch
December 31st, 2007 at 8:10 pm
I knew that Dixon was going to fumble!!! He does not know how to hold the ball!!!!
December 31st, 2007 at 8:14 pm
If we play prevent defense on this final drive like we did against Tennessee I will lose it!!! They need to go for it!!
December 31st, 2007 at 8:14 pm
Go for it! Do not punt!
December 31st, 2007 at 8:16 pm

We should have at lest scored 50+ points in this ball game but overall a good effort. Thank god the refs were terrible and called offensive pass interference on that reciever or we could have possibly got beat. The BBall team played fantastic today. Derrick Jasper is such a must have player and I think Deandre Liggins is the same kind of player. Can you imagine both of them on the floor at the same time with Miller and Patterson and Meeks. In all reality though we need Jasper,Meeks,Miller,Patterson, and a Juco center that is mean and nasty down low and can rebound like nobody’s business we will never win with the likes of Mark Coury. Im not even sure if we can win big games against great teams with him as a backup.
December 31st, 2007 at 9:01 pm
I’m happy for the win but you have to wonder a tad about the fact that with two minutes left, a team that was missing 36 players STILL had a shot to tie the game up.
Not exactly the “statement” me thinks that UK was looking to make this afternoon.
Oh well…a win is a win is a win.

Congrats, CATS!!! They should’ve won by more, but who cares! Two bowl W’s in a row! Now time to celebrate and usher in the New Year!! Happy New Year to all!!
December 31st, 2007 at 9:34 pm
For all its squirelliness the fact remains that UK has now won back to back bowls for only the second time in its history and the first time since ‘50-’51. If you can’t appreciate that you aren’t a true fan.
December 31st, 2007 at 9:40 pm
It was a great win for this program and those seniors. You play and call plays to win games…if we don’t turn the ball over in the first half it would have been a totally different ball game. Rich, Joker and Steve had to play it a little closer after the half given the score. I am so happy for those seniors as they may have helped start a firm foundation in building a football program. Here is hoping we can keep this staff together for one more year.
December 31st, 2007 at 10:25 pm
Good point #29- the commentators enjoyed reminding us of FSU’s loss of players at every possible moment today, but I agree with your interpretation.
December 31st, 2007 at 10:49 pm
Thank god, go UK

Rich Brooks needs to send Woodson a Xmas card for the rest of his life. AW is still learning how to play QB and it shows. I have always said he will be a better Pro QB than Brohm but he needs to figure it out soon. He didn’t progress like I thought he would this season. I don’t know if it was the terrible play calling by Joker Phillips or if AW really has insurmountable issues in his game. I believe he can really progress at the next level in the right situation. AW will be a huge success if he can go to a team that has time to fine tune his mechanics and has an offense that fits his strong arm and touch. AW has proven he has the intangibles - he won big games at UK and that hasn’t legitmately happened since Bear Bryant (sorry Fran Curci). UK should have beaten Tennessee but that was Brooks’ fault with the conservative crap and not playing Locke at the end of the game. Bring back Guy Morris as the OLine coach. There I said it. Happy New Year to all.

I was yelling “take a knee! take a knee! Don’t pull a Marty Moore!” after the interception with 29 seconds to go. I just knew that was going to backfire on us like in ‘93. Thankfully, we’ve made the football gods happy this year. Great season, Cats!
January 1st, 2008 at 1:35 am
why has nobody made a bigger deal out of the fact that Woodson just set the SEC record for most TD passes in a season? His 40 passes Wuerfell’s 39 in ‘96. Very impressive

#49 - Because he doesn’t play for Florida and his name isn’t Tim Teabag Tebow.

I would love to have seen somebody pull a Shane Falco on Micahs ass.
