Who wears short shorts?

by @ 1:21 am. Filed under Bomani

Apparently, the Lakers do.  They should not.  It’s bad enough that the NBA continues to force throwbacks upon the world as though they’re still in style, but the short shorts?  I don’t need to see all that.  And I ain’t talking about nobody’s legs.  This is bass ackwards, Jack.  The Lakers deserved to get mollywopped just for this atrocity.

First to say that maybe if Lamar would just put on another pair of socks there wouldn’t be anything to worry about. It would cover up to the compression shorts I do believe.

Yeah those things don’t need to come back. It is bad enough that I have the image of Isiah Thomas wearing them I don’t need to see any more from anyone else thanks.

  2. Dragonophile Says:

Sorry, but I like the look. I have always preferred playing with short shorts, even playing tennis. I can’t stand the shorts that hit halfway between the knee and ankle. Looks dorky.

short shorts rule. i am wearing denim cutoffs as i sit at my computer. they are no good unless u cut them short enough for the pockets to show, like tobias on arrested development.

  4. Japrick Says:

Maybe they thought the only way to beat the Celtics was to distract them with their junk.

  5. Japrick Says:

Why didn’t Rondo play in this game?

    Surely there’s a happy median?

#5 - Apparently he had a tight hamstring. It’s not supposed to be too serious.

  9. buddylove Says:

As long as they stay south of Lt. Dangle I’m OK.

Short shorts are cool. They should come back in style.

This has nothing to do with the subject matter of this thread, but I just read this post from an “aggie fan” (at least he said so) and wanted to share with this site:

    1) You got a good coach, but, it’s probably fair to say that he is/was not seasoned enough for the pressure that comes from running a program like Kentucky’s. He’s got the biggest ego of anyone to come through College Station in years (and we have some real big egos there), he’s got some personal habits that are not the most helpful, and, he doesn’t have a real good understanding of his own weaknesses.

    2) That being said, that doesn’t mean he is worth throwing away at this point. Our success was directly related to a) his recruiting abilities, and b) his smothering, aggressive defensive style. His style works, but it requires complete buy-in and 100% effort and teamwork on the behalf of all the players, plus players who are in peak shape (that’s the reason for the long practices). To get that, he completely breaks the individual player egos and builds the team from the ground up. He’s learning - and many of you have accurately stated - that this is tougher to do with a bunch of McDonald’s All Americans. You are going through a rebuilding process now, and it’s not pretty or fun, it was easier for us because our teams sucked before BCG - but we went through a period where several of our best players thought about leaving.

    3) It’s probably not going to get any better the rest of the season, but I bet you will have a couple surprising wins against big opponents. It looks like several of the upperclassman are not buying in; and the only thing to get them onboard is for them to finally realize that BCG isn’t going anywhere and it’s his way or the highway, and he’s ok with losing to the USD’s of the world in order to get this team where it needs to be to have real long-term success. His plan is to win a national championship sometime in the next three to five years; not this year or next.

    4) You the Kentucky fans have a big part to play in this - if you continue with the harping to get rid of him; you are going to do two things: a) you will create an impression that he’s on thin ice, which causes the existing players to dig-in and not buy-in to the new system, because, hey, they can outlast the new coach; and b) you hurt yourself on the recruiting trail because you create the impression that the coach doesn’t have a lot of support - so why would anyone want to go there if the coach is on the way out.

In all, BCG is a mixed bag, but he’s in no way someone you want to discard through the rough transition. It will take this season; but next year you will be contending for the conference championship and a prime seeding in the NCAA tournament.

They took the short shorts off at halftime, didn’t they?

I like the word “mollywopped”. I am now a Bomanihead.

    Come on Bomani.
Anything that might humble Kobe a notch or two, even if it’s just for one game, and even if it means that the viewer might be exposed to some horrendously short knickers, is well worth the price of admission for me.

    Verdict: shrinking seam line=shrinking Kobegoism=good.

Now if they could only add some pink trim to the Lakers’ uniforms….

#11. I completely agree with that post. I have a great friend who is an Aggie and has told me pretty much the same thing. Like
I’ve said, once BCG gets his type of player in, one that isn’t scared to work his tail off and play 110% every possession, we’ll
    be contending again.

It would have truly have been a throw-back game if they wore the Minneapolis Nuthuggers logo on hose short-shorted unies. You know, the squirrle snuggling the twins with the state sillouette in the backgraound. I know where K.I.G.E. stands on the short shorts issue. Don’t ask, don’t tell.
