[Moderated by Matt Jones]

The song was put up by Matt about a week ago, when it first came out, but the ‘official’ video is now here and it’s worth a look too. Never would I have imagined that there would be clips of kids in Kentucky uniforms dancing in a rap video. But that is a reality now, and I love it. As a fan of rap, I actually think this song isn’t that bad. Throw in some shout outs to Calipari, the rhymes he makes with Patterson, Bledoe, Liggins and Cousins, plus the fact that he says this line “J-Wall, what’s happenin little homie? I see you,” and the song is working its way into my heart.
At the least, it’s worth a watch.

Looks like the video was shot at a city park picnic shelter.

People are talking about KY basketball again and that can only mean one thing, we are BACK! The last two years we were a non-issue with little mention anywhere. Thanks Coach Cal.

February 25th, 2010 at 12:51 pm
no ncaa violations here, right? wall gets no money from this? right?
February 25th, 2010 at 12:52 pm
the song is straight, but the video is just not good. They never even do the dance right. I guess they don’t want to start a cross border beef with Kenzo
February 25th, 2010 at 12:52 pm
I have never been a fan of rap music. I am, however,
a fan of UK. This is very cool. I don’t listen to
rap music often. But when I do, it’s “Do the John Wall”
February 25th, 2010 at 12:53 pm
that’s actually a pretty good song. better than ice cream paint job, frankly
February 25th, 2010 at 12:53 pm
I love this video and the lyrics are pretty on point. As a african american UK fan, YEAH I SAID IT,
I’m def cool with this. I’ll be there tonight with my girlfriend, SECTION 12 lets get hyped up!
Hope the blue hairs are ready for sum real cheering!!! JOHN WALL AND CO. GONNA GO HAM!!!
February 25th, 2010 at 12:54 pm
Have you guys checked out this one? I think it’s a little more catchy and more mainstream. http://tinyurl.com/trevyyy
February 25th, 2010 at 12:55 pm
Not bad for being filmed in a park with a park shelter and picnic tables as a background.
February 25th, 2010 at 12:56 pm
10. he said, “yiggy, yes y’all” UNACCEPTABLE
however I do love the black Kool-Aid reference

February 25th, 2010 at 12:59 pm

February 25th, 2010 at 1:02 pm
If they’re going to make a video about the John Wall dance somebody needs to show them how to do it right. Still pretty fun though.
February 25th, 2010 at 1:02 pm
I’m going to latch onto John Wall like I did with Jordan and try to resurrect my career.
February 25th, 2010 at 1:06 pm
If I was Mark Krebs, I’d be a little miffed about not getting my shoutout.
#13 — You know the Louisville fans will counter with Luke Whitehead (aka BIG LOTTO): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PG5MdCXS5SQ
February 25th, 2010 at 1:09 pm
Did he say, “gone from living by a crack-house to dunking on Stackhouse”?? brilliant!..and was that Johnny Cueto dancing in the background? VERY cool, even though not a big rap fan (since Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five retired)
February 25th, 2010 at 1:11 pm
Somebody needs to get the audio for this and put it on limewire.
February 25th, 2010 at 1:11 pm

February 25th, 2010 at 1:17 pm

February 25th, 2010 at 1:18 pm
20, isn’t there a “rally” you need to get to? Moron
February 25th, 2010 at 1:21 pm
#17, Good point my friend. I was sooooo mesmerized by Luke’s ‘flow.’
BUT, I don’t think it counts if the RAP is about yourself…
February 25th, 2010 at 1:23 pm
Hi, ‘blueballs14.’ Your “joke” wasn’t funny in post #22 or #23 (I do however appreciate you rewording the second post).
February 25th, 2010 at 1:23 pm
#10 Where can you download that mp3?
February 25th, 2010 at 1:26 pm
Yeah, I got a rap and a video. Coach P just is a little sore about it - when I did the video, I didn’t realize one of my backup dancers (Karen Sypher) was one of Coach’s old girlfriends.
February 25th, 2010 at 1:36 pm
#10- Blows Cash’s video out-of-the-water. I would feature it on my show but no one under the age of 63 will watch it.
February 25th, 2010 at 1:39 pm
10) That video and song suck
February 25th, 2010 at 1:43 pm
Check out the guy in the Cincinnati Reds hat! WTF is he doing there?
February 25th, 2010 at 1:43 pm
I think I saw some of those guys on one of my favorite History Channel shows, something-land. They did a show on the Carolinas you should check out. Why would they be wearing Cincinnati Reds hats? hmmm
February 25th, 2010 at 1:44 pm
#30) there is a reason
February 25th, 2010 at 1:54 pm
I will be playing this video at Bakers360 tomorrow night for sure. probably play the other one too just for good measure. That’s right!!
February 25th, 2010 at 1:56 pm
This video is amazing. I’ve never heard of this guy but he just got a new fan. Excellent references to all things John Wall and a pretty good beat to boot.
February 25th, 2010 at 2:00 pm
groovy man.. they need to hook this dude up with the mingy (sp) brothers kid (the ad that is running non stop, and now controls my brain)
February 25th, 2010 at 2:00 pm
I think Wall is dreamy!
February 25th, 2010 at 2:00 pm
straight cash homey!!
February 25th, 2010 at 2:07 pm
I don’t listen to rap music that often, but when I do…..I prefer “Do the John Wall” Stay thirsty my friends.
February 25th, 2010 at 2:08 pm
Wall is dreamy, but my heart belongs to Krebs!
February 25th, 2010 at 2:13 pm
This song is awesome, video blows though. This should be the new intro music to the last 2 home games. Imagine what it could do for recruiting during the Florida game.
February 25th, 2010 at 2:25 pm
After the game I will be enjoying a DVDA with the Gamecocks!
February 25th, 2010 at 2:28 pm
#26 - You can download the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PG5MdCXS5SQ song at http://t-rev.one3productions.com. The song and the ringtone should be available for download today.
February 25th, 2010 at 2:38 pm
The team plays this in the locker room to get hyped… Imagine being 18 and having a pretty decent rap song mentioning at least 5 players on the squad…that would be awesome
February 25th, 2010 at 2:52 pm
This one is better: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFPpKoTpURM
February 25th, 2010 at 3:03 pm
Well they’re both at least decent… Which song is better I guess is matter of opinion.. I enjoyed that 2nd video a lot more though thanks for the link
February 25th, 2010 at 3:21 pm
This isn’t the first time UK jerseys were in a rap music video dancing around. Back when Shane Boyd was the QB at UK the Nappy Roots did a video that featured Shane Boyd along with others that had UK football jersey’s on dancing around. That video was actually shown on BET on a regular basis for a couple of months.
February 25th, 2010 at 3:35 pm
#44 That guy is waaay too old to pull that tone off….
February 25th, 2010 at 3:47 pm
I may be an ol’ white chick, but I enjoyed this, thought it was catchy…sending it out to all the Dook and UNC friends who’ve been emailing me all day about Laettner getting into the HOF….ugh!
February 25th, 2010 at 3:50 pm
I was waiting for a line like “yeah there’s an alley oop, but it be ice cream that they poop.”
February 25th, 2010 at 4:09 pm
can someone PLEASE teach me the john wall dance, just thinking anything could help my game
February 25th, 2010 at 4:12 pm
Wouldnt it be cool to have this song play in rupp, and everybody in the stands do the the john wall dance?
February 25th, 2010 at 4:54 pm
I want the lyrics to this bad boy.
February 25th, 2010 at 5:00 pm
It’s funny that most UK fans think John Wall invented this dance. He has even admitted that he stole it from noted rapper and U of L fan, Kenzo. It’s from his song Do The Shizz. Isn’t ironic that UK fans all get fired up over something that a U of L fan came up with. They are all just too stupid to realize it.
February 25th, 2010 at 5:08 pm
Yeah, too stupid, that must be it. Thanks, Lil’ bro, we know how smart you are.
February 25th, 2010 at 5:22 pm
Im gonna be bumpin this shit rollin up to Rupp tonight haha
