1) Here is a really interesting blog entry by the Courier-Journal’s Eric Crawford assessing the John Wall controversy from last week. He takes a unique angle on the whole thing, and that is the player-coach relationship with Coach Caland his players. The idea that UK players have the same relationship with Cal as they did with Gillispie or Tubby is misguided, and Wall’s comments are closer to normal than crazy from a Cal player.
2) The NCAA Tourney Bubbleis starting to get pretty heavy with teams from the SEC, and unfortunately there is not a single UK non-conference opponent this season that is a lock for the tournament, yet. I expect Louisville and UCONN to still make it, but UNC and Indiana are OUT.
3) The recruit who almost was, Xavier Henry, has seen his production drop BIG TIME since, well playing good teams in the Big 12 (last night being the exception). Too bad he didn’t come to Kentucky, where he would have been the 5th best player on the team.
4) I know this website has probably been around for a long time now, but I just recently got hooked on lamebook.com, and its about as funny a site as there is. Mostly because it will only boost your self-esteem when you see how many moronic, low class people there are. You can also get that feeling watching Maury.
5) Say hello to the coolest high schooler in the country (not Brandon Knight), Conner Cordova. He was actually able to convince a Maxim model and UFC Ring Girl to be his date to the prom. If I wasn’t already dating Caroline Wozniacki, I would have pulled the same move in high school too.
6) True or False: Pete Townshend was NOT actually playing during the Super Bowl. Look at his hand during his “windmill” move, its not even close to the strings.

Xavier is the 5th best player on our team too.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:02 am
I got a technical last night and it was probably fair.

February 9th, 2010 at 10:03 am
People pick on me b/c I’m big. Also, why did Cole post that twice?
February 9th, 2010 at 10:06 am
Crap, Skip Bayless just said that we are the best team if Cousins is playing well. We are screwed now. He also said that Aldrich has no chance of guarding Cousins.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:06 am
The Foo Fighters would’ve been a 1000000000000 times better halftime show than The Who.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:09 am
at first i didnt think pete townsend was really playing, but there was one spot where he noticeably messed up. he didnt hit a note, and you could see him laughing about it right after.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:09 am
May be a combo show of the Foo Fighters and The Who
The Foo Who Fighters….
February 9th, 2010 at 10:13 am
The Who will rock the Bridgestone Halftime Show.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:14 am
My free-throw head forward, thrust, arms over the head, chuck is the equivalent of Charles Barkley’s golf swing. It would be the equivalent of Div 1 golfer swinging like Barkley.
It should be illegal due to the fact it draws lane violations. I actually should lower the ticket prices at Kansas games. It is pathetic
February 9th, 2010 at 10:14 am
look, I play and sell guitars for a living. Townsend was playing, there is no reason he would have to “lipsync” on the guitar. He is a very accomplished player, not some no talent American Idol hack. These guys are real musicians and anyone that know music knows that they were playing live.
I heard some clams, why would they prerecord a track complete with clams?
the windmill is just a show-y trick, I am sure there are plenty of times he misses the strings.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:15 am
Lamebook is cool, but failbooking.com is better.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:17 am
11. Also, there was a second guitarist near the bass players that got very little camera time. He was very low in the mix, though.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:20 am
BTI, “unfortunalty” and “mornoic”
and Townshend probably would’ve been better off if he didn’t actually play…
February 9th, 2010 at 10:22 am
DUDE! are you blind?! you have obviously never played the guitar (electric). he clearly nailed that performance.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:23 am
What is it? Ill take it. Who is she? Ill rape it. Got a bet there? Ill meet it. Gettin high? You cant beat it!
February 9th, 2010 at 10:25 am
BTI - y do u continue to worry about what other teams we have beaten r doing. This is pretty clear cut. The top four have separated themselves from the rest of the pack. # 5 through #9 or #10 ranked in the country will have a minimum of 5 losses, so there is no need to pull for L-ville or Uconn to get in. All we have to do is get in with 3 losses (maybe 4) and we r a #1 seed.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:26 am
I’m also a guitarist and there definitely times where townsend was out of sync. I wondered if someone was playing for him too.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:27 am
The Who sucks. There i said it. Never really ever liked them. As far as Townsend goes keep him away from my kids. Anyway , Metallica rules!!!!
February 9th, 2010 at 10:30 am
I agree, The Who suck. Makes me sick just to look at them. Give me Boston or Def Leppard any old day.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:31 am
Wow, cool, Christopher Guest as “Nigel” on drums. Didn’t know Nigel was a multi-instrumentalist!
February 9th, 2010 at 10:32 am
There is nothing unfortunate about UCONN, UL, UNC, or Indiana not getting into the Tourney. These are teams we should want to lose every game they play. And for the people that are rooting for Louisville to beat Syracuse this week, Are you insane? UK fans should never ever root for Louisville no matter what.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:35 am
17) The reason you want a good strenth of schedule is because you don’t want to be the 4th #1 seed and have to play out west. I want the Cats in St. Louis for the Elite eight. And even with the Nova loss, alot of brackets have UK in the West.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:37 am
You are stuck in Billy mode. It doesn’t matter who you’ve played. Keep winning and you get a 1 seed.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:38 am
lamebook.com isn’t real. They can easily be faked: http://fakebookquotes.appspot.com/
While it’s still funny… Not real.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:42 am
Not certain Henry would be our 5th best but he would have been given every chance and most important the motivation to improve himself by Calipari.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:42 am
good for that kid, getting the UFC supermodel to go to the dance with me. Persistence is key. how do you think i got my wife?
February 9th, 2010 at 10:43 am
I figured I would post this again, it is too funny!
Check out Boogie’s expression when he is asked about Cole Aldrich around the 42 sec mark.

BTI you are aware that your girlfriend, Caroline Wozniacki, will always be a second tier tennis player and never have a chance at a real open championship right? Me and Melanie Oudin have a better chance of winning a few open titles before she even makes it to the semis.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:43 am
with him i meant…
February 9th, 2010 at 10:48 am
Cal said on the call in show that we should pull for the teams that we have already played. But #1 is win. I hope UNC-CH and UofL lose every game they play. And we win everygame we play. I don’t care what our RPI is, if we are #1 or #2 then it doesn’t matter. We will get a #1 seed in the east and go to a terrible tournament location. But it all ends in Indianapolis, so who cares if we have to go to Syracuse, Salt Lake or whereever.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:48 am
think of this potential NIT tourney: unc ,indiana, ucla, louisville, arizona, uconn. There could be more nat chamionships in the nit then in the ncaa tourney.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:48 am
I agree with the pic, it was awesome to see him with his son! I disagree about the Who… they rocked! This was the first time I watched the entire halftime show…. loved it!
February 9th, 2010 at 10:52 am
Hey everyone, I am going to my first game at Rupp March 7 for senior night. Does anyone know about how much it is gonna cost to get into Rupp? I need 2 tickets…
February 9th, 2010 at 10:52 am
29) Wozniacki was US Open runner-up last year, beating your girl Melanie Oudin along the way. We took that nice paycheck she made and went on a cruise. Haha.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:54 am
peopleofwalmart.com is the funniest website IMHO
February 9th, 2010 at 10:55 am
If I pull for Louisville or UNC, it will have zero effect on the outcome of the games. I will therefore use my instinct instilled at birth to hate them. I hope they lose every game.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:56 am
Funny site. Check out http://www.FunnyExam.com if you like lamebook.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:58 am
the who performance looked more live to me watching it the second time… watching the superbowl performance the first time i thought i caught roger off a few times, but that was probably the bourbon.
the truth is these things are rarely completely live but this one looks pretty close. if they are playing over a pre-recorded ‘live’ track then they do a damn good job of lip-syncing vocals that come in late. my guess is the who are singing and playing live but they may be playing along to more than a click track.
pete has another guitar player on stage so even if he is off a bit on the windmill someone else is playing along. pretty much impossible to tell from the angles i saw…and yes i’m also a player.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:58 am
I have two tickets to tonight’s game:
Section 23 Row LL Seats 5&6
$20 each-face value is $33 each
I am in Louisville email me at mewh3308@yahoo.com up until 3pm and we can set up a spot for pick up
February 9th, 2010 at 10:59 am
37)perfect answer. Always go with your instincts, and your instincts will not allow you to root for UNC, UL, and Indiana. Its possible to root for UCONN when necessary but it sure doesn’t bother me when they lose.
February 9th, 2010 at 10:59 am
failbooking.com is a good one as well.
February 9th, 2010 at 11:03 am
i’m not sure pete was playing live. i mean, if you look at the neck of his guitar you can see that there aren’t any green, red, yellow, blue or orange buttons. nice try pete!
February 9th, 2010 at 11:23 am
The Who sucks and Metallica is better? you all are nuts, but at least we have one common thing we can agree on, the cats rule!
February 9th, 2010 at 11:36 am
How about you also tell us where the windmill move occurs so we don’t have to sit through a 6 minute video just to see a 3 second clip?
February 9th, 2010 at 12:01 pm
Give me Boston or Def Leppard is the single funniest thing I’ve ever read.
February 9th, 2010 at 12:07 pm
Simon Townshend, Pete’s brother, was on stage playing rhythm guitar and singing backup. He probably doubles Pete on those. No way Pete was faking it. There was one where he completely missed, and there was no sound.
I do wonder if Roger’s scream in Baba was triggered though. I think he sang everything else, but that scream was spot on and had a different reverb on it.
February 9th, 2010 at 12:10 pm
I’m not a big Who fan but Pete was playing. As with most live performances these days there’s an extra guitarist in the back playing as well to make sure to cover any mistakes. I have to admit that was one of the coolest stages ever though.
February 9th, 2010 at 12:15 pm
19. Metallica used to rule. Now they suck balls.
February 9th, 2010 at 12:21 pm
your champion contenders are good, except Michigan St is border line awful
what are you thinking man
February 9th, 2010 at 1:08 pm
he is definitely playing it all, and even if he missed it if you didnt notice there was a backup guitarist playing the same notes so it couldnt be heard, i mean im a guitarist, ive tried the windmill, its not that easy, and you hit your fingers on the strings alot which believe it or not is incredibly painful, but he definitely played the rest, nobody can shred like pete especially at his age, i’ll take the who over any band anyday, plus its only 2 members of the who, cause the other two died for those who dont know much about them, but they found great replacements with drummer, who is ringo starrs (of the beatles) son, and keith moons godson, and for bassist pino palladino.. i thought it was a great show
February 9th, 2010 at 1:38 pm
Whether he was or not it was still a great halftime show!
February 9th, 2010 at 2:19 pm
The Who is still by far the best concert I’ve ever been to. I saw them in Rupp the tour following the Cinci tragedy. They came out and kicked the warm up band off the stage, dedicated the show to Cinci and played their hearts out. They had a back up guitarist then as well. Big deal.. Pete used to rip his hands up making sure to hit every time. I honestly didn’t see him miss and I heard several mistakes in the show. I would much rather see and hear real music with mistakes than to see and hear the bubble gum bs with their pre recorded tracks.
February 9th, 2010 at 2:37 pm
I’ve heard that bands at the Super Bowl and other big events actually play and sing over the recorded music, so if they miss a note or beat, its covered up by the recorded song. That way can cover voice and musicall deficencies and not get accused of lip synching at the same time.
February 9th, 2010 at 4:11 pm
Even half The Who are better than most bands could ever be. Yeah, Pete and Roger were getting help, but that was DEFINITELY live. GREAT performance.
