Ronnie Sneed

High School Coach Said: “Ronnie’s work ethic will help him succeed in college. He loves the weight room,” Hickman said. “He has a passion for the physical part of the game. He runs awfully well for a 230-pound linebacker. He’s very intelligent and loves to watch film.”

Red Shirt Season Evaluation: Sneed is a prospect that plays with aggression and anger. With over 120 tackles in both his junior and senior seasons in high school, there is no doubt that Ronnie fly’s to the ball and means business once he gets there. Recently name defensive scout team player of the year for the 2007 season. This was a huge under the radar pickup as Sneed will be a star in the future for the Cats. Word out of practice is that Ronnie Sneed has been killing people this year.  There is nothing better in football than a nasty, fast, hard hitting linebacker, and Ronnie fits the bill on all of those categories.

Taiedo Smith
6′0 180-Cornerback

What High School Coach Said: “Taiedo is going to be a great cover corner in the SEC,” Beasley said. “He has great size and speed, with long arms and legs, and can jump out of the gym.”

Red Shirt Season Evaluation: Taideo Smith was discovered by offensive line coach Jimmy Heggins as he was recruiting another prospect last fall. Once he saw the raw ability that Smith possesses, a scholarship was offered immediately. Excellent closing speed will make him a contributor at corner in the future, however look for him to be a kick returner in 2008 as he is explosive in the return game. Coaching staff really loves the future for Taiedo.

Anthony Mosley

What High School Coach Said: “Anthony is a deep ball threat, a player with separation speed who can make the big play,” Ballard said. “He did not drop a ball his senior season, and not many players can say that. He’s a really fine young man.”

Red Shirt Season Evaluation: Clocked as low as 4.3 in the forty yard dash, Mosley displays a excellent combination of speed and sure hands, as shows with zero drop passes during his senior year of high school. With added strength he should be in the mix of the receiver rotation in the spring. Not a big target by any means, but a slippery one who can make plenty of plays as he did this season as a red shirt on the scout team.

Greg Meisner

What High School Coach Said: The biggest thing about Greg is his quickness off the ball,” said Coach Meisner. “He is very instinctive in recognizing blocking schemes and understands how to play the game. He also has a great motor.”

Red Shirt Season Evaluation: Greg Meisner has been a pleasant surprise so far in his young career as a Wildcat. I kind of questioned the recruitment of Meisner last season, but as Brooks has time and time again showed, they can find the needle in the haystacks. Performed well in fall camp and continued throughout the season. Obviously needs more strength that will come, as he has a nice frame to hold extra weight. Opportunity is there with depth issues at defensive end, we will see if he takes advantage of it. Looking good so far.

Randall Burden
6′2 175-Cornerback
LaGrange (GA) La Grange

What High School Coach Said: “Randall has a really big upside,” Pardue said. “As his body develops he’s going to do great things. As a defensive back, he has a great break on the ball.”

Red Shirt Season Evaluation: Tall, long, and athletic, Burden has the ability to become a nice corner down the road. As Coach Pardue said, his body is still developing and will eventually make him a better football player once he gains more strength and improves his speed. It will be a few years before Randall can help on the defensive side of the ball, however he should focus on becoming a special teams star and build on that for the future.
