Because I will be away from the computer after the game, your postgame coverage will come from the hilarious Turkey Hunter who is representing Kentucky Sports Radio well at the game. Because of that, some thoughts on the first half…..
(1) Jodie Meeks looks pretty damn good, dont ya think? He is going to be an absolute star folks…..
(2) Lots and lots and lots of movement on offense….that will be the biggest change you will see on this team this season…..very little standing around on offense
(3) Joe Crawford handled coming off the bench very well…..that was very good to see….I was concerned going into the game at that very issue and he handled it smoothly
(4) If you didnt believe that the Coury Flurry was going to get some playing time, I hope you do now. Did some nice things….not a great athlete, but high basketball IQ and a banger inside
(5) Great to see the togetherness on the team that we have been hearing so much about….player falls down and the entire team is there to pick him up. These guys like each other and it is obvious.
(6) The guys working the scorer’s table this year will be busy if tonight is any indication…..guys come in and out left and right….Billy Clyde told me this summer that he likes to play a lot of guys and use players in diverse situations….we saw that initially
(7) Kyle Macy puts the “mono” in monotone voice
(8) I cant help it….I miss Woo
(9) Nice debut for Patrick Patterson….I like the way he makes smart decisions and is usually in the right place…..intelligent well beyond his years from a basketball perspective
(10) I like how the Cats are up 25, give up a three pointer needlessly and Billy Clyde calls timeout to scold them. Then a few minutes later, they give up another three and there is another quick timeout….that is intensity folks
(11) I hope you saw the blond girl after warmups…..I really hope you did

Ramon Harris on the ball defense right before the end of the half… in an exhibition! He was on both their guards just giving them fits with his length.
Stevenson needs to get past that hesitation. It plagued him last year as well.
Patterson was a HUGE recruit folks. Without him we would be in serious trouble.
I’d like to see Legion fit himself in better. That should come with time.

God Bless Jodie Meeks!!! What an example he sets for his teammates. All the guys look like they are hustling. I am sure whatever we wanted to see and didn’t first half, we will the second!!

Patterson was planning to commit to UK in March but just delayed until May. He was UK bound after MM in October 2006.

I’m more impressed with the focus BCG is putting on defense.Granted it’s Pikeville,but if it were TLT ball the halftime score would be 35-28.Also Bradley has what, 5 assist and 0 turnovers?

After hauling my butt to Grevey’s in Falls Church, VA in DC rush hour traffic, I got to see the pre game show on FSN South. But by hell they blacked out the actual game! What kind of reception did BCG get in the introduction? Before they blacked it out, it looked like a very slim crowd. Did the crowd pick up any for the game?

the last time i went to a game was 2001 versus Maryland, great game, they were ranked second and we won. I have been yelled at by UK fans for being too loud

GoCats the UK fans that should be getting the season tickets are the
ones who go to the SEC tournament. A bunch better UK fan base. I get
yelled at all the time for standing up and yelling. I use to care but
about 3 years ago I said screw it, if you don’t like it stand up or look
at my butt all game, I really don’t care

#32 completely agree, I was one of the most abnoxious fans while I was there. Its only 2 hours, its ok to stand the entire time. My proudest moment was sitting in the arkansas section during the 95 sec touney and outyelling the pig sooey chant

If your a UK fan and you haven’t been to the SEC tournament I recommend
going. It is nuts and every UK fan stands they whole time. The game against
UT a few years ago was crazy. Rondo and Keleena get the fans on their feet

34. I was at that SEC Tourney! I was sitting behind the goal in the student section (I was a junior at UK then). The best thing about that Ark game was when some little jerk kid who kept heckling us the entire game left crying. I flicked the back of his stupid plastic pig hat. Then, going back to Lexington getting to pass all those Hog fans and give ‘em hell. Those were the days!

we were at UK at the same time I graduated in 96

The best was being at Bud Walton Arena last year. UK was done by 16 with
17min. Before that Hog fans were screaming Pig Sooey constantly. The
Crawford and Bradley started hitting some crazy 3s. When UK took the lead
I was all in the Hog fans faces. One old man started crying. He said all he
wanted to see was the Hogs to beat UK again. My little six year daughter kept
waving her pom poms in his face.

I do have Vandy seaason tickets and I won’t be able to go to alot
of games that I normally get to go to. By the way that reminds me, UK
always plays Vandy in Nashville on Sunday. It has always been that way but
for some freakin reason it is on Tuesday this year

Courey isn’t to bad, he didn’t get any PT last season and isn’t very
athletic. The more he gets to play the better he will become. He has the

I feel Legion played at 50% speed. Some players do that to let the game come to them, however, it won’t work on this team. Billy G. wants hustle and Jodie Meeks gets it.

74. Email me offline and we can discuss. Short of it - I’m an officer in the DC alumni club so we’ve discussed this before. Grevey’s gives us preferential treatment and makes sure we have tables together and the games (well, except last night when FSN decided to black it out). We’ve tried other places closer to metro stops but they won’t reserve us tables and are usually always packed with the other area alumni clubs. I don’t know if you were at our USC watch party at the Crystal City Sports Pub, but after them telling us they’d reserve 40 seats for us, we showed up and they said, “A reservation doesn’t mean you have seats.” So we had to scramble. Kevin makes sure we’re always taken care of at Grevey’s…
