As first reported by Lexington’s WLEX, Scott County’s Bud Mackey was arrested today for alleged possesion of crack cocaine and charged with two felonies: trafficking a controlled substance and trafficking within a thousand yards of a school. Mackey, an Indiana signee, was electrifying in guiding Scott Co. to a State Title last season, and appeared destined to make a name for himself on the national scene. Now, who knows? Crack. Wow.
Now, this is truly sad, and I hope Mackey will eventually see the light and realize he’s blessed with tremendous ability and not continue to downgrade himself into a two bit hustla, but if indeed true, what a horrible mistake. Weed? Maybe you lose your IU scholly but you’re still playing somewhere in a couple of years, ala JamesOn Curry (with a side of asparagus). But the crickity crack? That’s a straight-to-the-NBA narcotic right there. Sad. Stupid.

street cred must be worth a lot more than I realize
September 28th, 2007 at 7:42 pm
thats what happens when you live in “the county”
September 28th, 2007 at 7:51 pm
Damn Scott Co. thugs
September 28th, 2007 at 7:51 pm
I don’t understand the lure for this kid. He does 2 to 4 years in College and on to the NBA if he is that good and applies himself. His parents should be kicked in the ass for not being in control.
September 28th, 2007 at 7:51 pm
I think the news of his arrest is worth reporting, but the picture accompanied with it is tasteless.I understand that when your a college prospect that the light is upon you at all times. But remember he’s only 17 or so and the above mentioned picture is casting a very negative image.Remember it’s not like he’s Willie Williams and has been in this situation before.Classless attack!!
September 28th, 2007 at 7:55 pm
I agree 5
September 28th, 2007 at 7:57 pm
This is just sad. These kids that are high profile kids have to be smarter than this. He will loose his IU no doubt and will be lucky to get noticed again.
Crack? that is just insane right there. And trafficking? Since its a felony it means either it was more than personal use or it wasn’t his first time. Crack at an ounce has a street value of about 1K.
I just wonder how much this kid had.
Hopefully this is a wake up call for him, but sadly it seems to be the beginning of the end for many.
September 28th, 2007 at 7:57 pm
Yeah Intern,You need to take that picture off!!Reporting the news is one thing. But you’ve gone too far.
September 28th, 2007 at 7:58 pm
wow.
September 28th, 2007 at 7:58 pm
Is he 18??
September 28th, 2007 at 7:59 pm
Hey 5, they should cast a very negative image. Maybe if Bud saw what some real crackheads looked like he wouldn’t be screwing around with it.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:00 pm
#5 The picture is tasteless, yet it’s no surprise because the “Intern” has proven himself time and time again to be a complete loser. He’s not funny, and his writing is an example of the kind of smarmy, white-bread lameness that passes for humor among some white college boys. It’s pathetic.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:00 pm
He was, allegedly, selling crack–at school. I don’t think this picture indicts him any further than the damage already done. Kids make mistakes, but I lack a soft spot for crack dealers, especially those with full schollies and tangible futures who have plenty of other logical/legal options.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:02 pm
11- he’s slinging rocks, man. He’s seen a crack head or two I’m guessing. But, I like the pic. If you sell crack, you’re fair game.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:04 pm
Spin it anyway you like it.You should be a above of such immature attacks.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:04 pm
I think the picture is funny..havent you guys seen Chapelle’s Show? Yes its a sad situation, but he brought this on himself.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:04 pm
#5 think about it, he has been arrested with 2 felony counts for CRACK.
That is classes and maybe he being treated more like an adult will wake him up.
Willie Williams is where he is headed unless he straightens up. Besides Willie’s drugs only got him misdemeanors. Bud had enough to get Felonies.
Williams did get a felony this week but for trying to eat the pot not for the amount.
That is more alarming to me, what it was and the fact that it was felonies.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:06 pm
Sad news. Glad we got Darius out of the 3 in-state stars. He seems to be a good kid as well as a talented baller.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:07 pm
Could you imagine the reaction by the public if indeed he did sign with Kentucky?
September 28th, 2007 at 8:08 pm
#14 right! What an idiot!
September 28th, 2007 at 8:09 pm
Ok, I’ll compromise.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:09 pm
15- how would yo feel if he sold to your child?
September 28th, 2007 at 8:10 pm
With the weight these athletes carry throughout the teenagers everywhere I have absolutly no problem with the pic. My only complaint is the picture should have him crying when his scholarship is ripped from his fingers and he watches his dreams go up in smoke.
As of right now, he is beneath the ability to try to “class this up”. This kid is not only ruining his life and those he is selling to, but any kid that looks up to him.
Should show what he will look like in 5 years when he is digging through dumpsters for food… if he doesnt straighten out. Powerful message!
September 28th, 2007 at 8:10 pm
It’s the Chappelle Show people!! Relax and be glad BCG didn’t pursuade him to come to UK!
September 28th, 2007 at 8:11 pm
Can’t believe you caved Intern.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:11 pm
Intern thanks for switching the picture to show what a crackhead looks like.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
Crack is poison for the community, the culture, the city, the children, and the entire country.
He deserves to be locked away for 20 years.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
Me neither, blame my shrink.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:12 pm
Never mind I like the second one better when you click on his name.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:13 pm
Wait, was there a picture of Tyrone Biggums on here before? Put it back! Put it back!
September 28th, 2007 at 8:21 pm
Hopefully when my son is a teenager, I will have raised him with enough knowledge to make correct decisions.I’m in no way trying to defend him,but I’m sure we have all made mistakes in the past that were not to proud of.He’ll have to live with his choice he’s made and the consquences that come with it.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:24 pm
I agree with the Intern that he has already done the damage to himself. Any picture that is posted on this website will have no further effect on his reputation.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:24 pm
INTERN STOP BEING SCARED AND PUT THAT PIC BACK UP I NEVER SAW IT
September 28th, 2007 at 8:26 pm
#33 click on the guy’s name and you will see the picture
September 28th, 2007 at 8:30 pm
All these idiots defend this kid, and we saw how much fun everyone poked at Willie Williams. This kid is clearly an idiot. He got arrested in school, apparently had crack on him in school. How can you defend him? Further, I ask who smokes crack in high school? Its not like Georgetwon is in the absolute middle of nowhere where like in Eastern KY where kids are doing meth and oxycontin. And he is a senior, already going to a prestigious basketball school. Can’t say that I feel sorry for him.

September 28th, 2007 at 8:33 pm
#35 Absolutely Right!
September 28th, 2007 at 8:35 pm
what, 38 posts and nobody has griped that crack ain’t a narcotic? pathetic.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:35 pm
Poor stupid bastard. Poor dumb stupid bastard. God this is just terrible. Who cares if Willie Williams is an animal; he’s not from our own backyard. Even if he was going to play for IU, he was going to be a star and somebody that Scott County could be proud of in the years to come. But he was an idiot, and now he’s humiliated his folks while essentially making a comeback impossible barring a miracle. Pray for him I guess.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:37 pm
# 35
CORRECT!!!!And every county is the same thing. This time someone with a big name got busted. Will they be a drug test for highschool athletics?
September 28th, 2007 at 8:40 pm
#35 - Willie William was #1-convicted and #2-a repeat offender. Bud Mackey has been convicted of nothing and if he his convicted, this is his first arrest. Do we not give second chances in American anymore? And how can you say you don’t feel sorry for him? Is his an idiot if he’s convicted? Yes. Is it despicable that anyone would sell crack? Yes, of course. But he is a kid. Who had a bright future ahead of him. And he pissed it away to live like a king in high school. Very sad. I hope the charges aren’t true. And if they are, I hope people learn from this.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:42 pm

September 28th, 2007 at 8:44 pm
41. There wouldn’t even be a team if they tested high school athletics.
September 28th, 2007 at 8:45 pm
The following flier to be posted in Scott County Monday morning.

September 28th, 2007 at 8:48 pm
42 Willie Williams could get arrested with weed 18 times (he almost has been arrested 18 times) and I’d still feel more sympathetic for him then I would for somebody that is selling crack in school. If this isn’t true, then sure I rescind my comment. But if the police go and arrest him IN school, which is quite humiliating, I’m gonna guess that they have something on him.

Lata Playas
September 28th, 2007 at 9:09 pm
#7 I agree with your statement but your numbers are a little off, crack on the street is about a hundered a gram ( give or take a little) so with 28
grams in a oz it adds up to arounc 3 thousand give or take a little
September 28th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
#51, Is this Bud or Willie Williams?
September 28th, 2007 at 9:13 pm
Another one of my sellers got busted! Damn, now I will have to go back to making gay videos again!
September 28th, 2007 at 9:35 pm
He does look awfully skinny in that picture!!!!
September 28th, 2007 at 9:59 pm
Them do look like crack arms if I’ve ever seen any.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:00 pm
He could probably still get a scholarship at Memphis. Or maybe West Virginia…Huggins never met a felon he didn’t like.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:10 pm
#11. Who Do You Think Buys Crack? Dont “Real Crackheads” Buy Crack. This Kid Knew What He Was Doing, But Ya Gotta Forgive And Forget. Maybe He’ll Learn Something From This.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:11 pm
What is wrong with the picture? He is shooting a free throw.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:15 pm
I am surprised so many people are defending Macky. He is charged
with a freakin Felony. He is using CRACK!!!. What if he was selling
crack to other kids? He is fair game now. Stop defending a crack user.
If he didn’t want his picture shown he shouldn’t have been using crack.
Throw this punk in jail. Bud Mackey. More like Crack Mackey.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:19 pm
Sounds like he’ll be going to U of L now!!!!!!!!!
September 28th, 2007 at 10:24 pm
well i am pulling for this kid to turn it around..hope he can do it..i hearing about these kind of things.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:27 pm
meant to say, i hate hearing about kids destroying their future and just hope this problem does not lead to a addiction…i have empathy for him and his family.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:31 pm
why all the hatta’s? we smoke the stuff all the time in Gtown!
September 28th, 2007 at 10:35 pm
Until a drug test is administered, no proof he was using,
but that means he was for sure dealing. The boy needs prayers
and lots of them. How would youy feel if it was your kid?
Parents can only do so much, if he wasn’t using then there
was probably no signs of use. If he comes from a poor family
he made the wrong choice to make money. I feel sorry for
anybody that gets suckered into the drug game. It’s nothing
to laugh at. When one of your family falls victim, then
laugh all you want.
September 28th, 2007 at 10:46 pm
For all of you apologists, get real! Drug dealers are drug dealers! Colleges are a place for higher learning. Kids selling drugs on back streets don’t even come close to being qualified for college life. This kid obviously is not qualified and it is no loss. He needs to be in jail, not college!
September 28th, 2007 at 10:48 pm
a scholarship to IU, I would of given anything to get that. I was from the projects, didn’t sell crack. Stupid ass deserves everything to be taken away from him. Crack or cocaine, that’s some hard sh#%. TRU!
September 28th, 2007 at 10:57 pm
#65: not defending his actions in the least. he’s an idiot. but there are loads of drugs on college campuses nationwide- and not just with skeevy stoners. Preppy kids, athletic kids, brilliant kids; no clique is immune to bad decisions. but wow. Crack? what a bad decision
September 28th, 2007 at 11:00 pm
If this was my kid #64 I would pull the scholly myself as the parent. There comes a time in each of our lives we
we must learn right from wrong with out making all these excuses. I have read all the post and no one is saying there is personal responsibility and not money/opportunity etc..right is right and wrong is wrong
. Now I agree these boards do no good in making good judgements but fun conversation. This kid is not done with his future career if he finds the proper support system and sucks it up and turns it around..its up to him. not us.
I wish him the best and hope we have more class in helping kids turn the corner for the better.
He is a young man, he is not alone..be kind!
September 28th, 2007 at 11:02 pm
5. Who freakin cares. Don’t care about crackheads. Maybe he’ll see it and think……
“CRACK IS BAD”. People have to stop worrying about people who break the law. PERIOD>
I don’t care if they’re 17, 70, or 7. Good lord. Our country is going to hell quickly b/c
of pu$$ies like you. Thank god for people w/ sense like #65.
September 28th, 2007 at 11:10 pm
Come on down to Scott County Highschool this Saturdy we are having a huge sell on crack to help pay for legal bills. Bring the whole family we dont care about your age, we will screw up everbodys life. Just like Bud says “Never to young to be a crack head”.
September 28th, 2007 at 11:16 pm
Holy Sh*t. There’s your Kentucky Educational Taxes at work. These effing mistakes have already been made. Don’t these kids learn anything.
September 28th, 2007 at 11:34 pm
Mackey…Hangin’ with Willie….cellmates.
September 28th, 2007 at 11:54 pm
^^^^^ Oh nellie….
September 28th, 2007 at 11:58 pm
#74 that is absolutely ridiculous. I know it will get deleted eventually but the fact that you would be stupid enough to type that is incredible
September 29th, 2007 at 12:06 am
whew!…glad we didnt sign him.
September 29th, 2007 at 12:07 am
Why are some showing love for a drug dealer? He is not going to straighten out his life. They almost never do. The easy money that comes from selling drugs will always be there and he will always jump at the chance to be a part of the business.
This dealer was working the high school circuit. He has no respect for his peers and sees them only as dopeheads who need to purchase a fix from him. He is likely to also be a user as that is almost always the way it is. He probably started selling to pay for his addiction. He is just a wasted life and may never have any respect for himself or for others. I have no use for him.
September 29th, 2007 at 12:07 am
I am sorry to see this happen to anyone. I see this happen to people (and kids) all of the time, and so very few really give a rip about them. Forget the basketball part, and hope he finds some recovery….
September 29th, 2007 at 12:18 am
Hopefully he didn’t have 5+ grams, because if he did, that’s 5 years minimum (supreme court will be calling that unconsitutional pretty soon, but not soon enough for him). Add in trafficking and school proximity and, I’m afraid to say, a conviction will net him 10+ years if he’s over 18 (I don’t know how old he is)
September 29th, 2007 at 12:26 am
No firearms involved. Likely less than 10 years on a first offense. 7-8 years would be my guess, providing it is in Federal Court. State courts would have the same sentence +/- but good behaviour and parole will come easy.
September 29th, 2007 at 12:30 am
Bud is 18, BTW
September 29th, 2007 at 12:37 am
Apologists suck.
September 29th, 2007 at 12:51 am
Here is the problem. When the Alpha Male in a High School is dealing it destroys so many impressionable young lives that the ripples are incalculable. With great talent comes great responsibility. Thanks for the read….
September 29th, 2007 at 1:42 am
Bud “Cracky” Mackey… Get you some foo. DOH!
I love these people who say “What if he sold to your kid?” There are many distractions in life, some of you are worse off from your finger pointing than a kid is who made a wrong choice. Donovan McNabb just wants to know why everyone gives black quaterbacks such a hard time. XD
September 29th, 2007 at 1:46 am
I hope he gets his s#$t straight. Bad thing for Mackey is, with Sampson at IU having no choice but to dismiss him he has eliminated one of the few coaches who is classless enough to take him now. Good luck at West Virginia Bud, don’t know what other choices you have.
September 29th, 2007 at 1:54 am
I forgot Memphis, or he can play football for the Tards. Choices will be slim either way.
September 29th, 2007 at 3:14 am
He’s so skinny he looks like a Kenyan. Don’t delete my post this time Matt or I will tell everyone you have a herpes!
September 29th, 2007 at 5:31 am
I thought that all the hype giving this state of our from the sport writer recently was undeserved. But when you see so many people attacking a kid that needs help then maybe we should search within ourselves for some of the answers. He is dead wrong by doing, having, and supposingly selling drugs, but it is a young life that needs help. No one on here can say that thru out their entire lives that they haven’t failed in some ways. Then there are those that are more tickled that our great UK did not persue him now is sickening to me as a die hard UK fan. Our coach himself will be the 1st to tell you young people can & will make mistakes in life. So the ones of you that have never slipped or made a terrible mistake please feel free to pat yourselves on the back. as far as drugs go until our government gets off their azz and takes an interest then there is nothing we can do.
September 29th, 2007 at 6:14 am
Maybe he should call Tom Jurich. He’s big into giving second chances. Maybe not.
September 29th, 2007 at 6:25 am
Hey Bud, I know whatcha goin thru. I got busted on some trumped up charges too, then Tubby jerked my scholly. Call SouthEast Louisiana Northen State, they got a cooool b-ball program.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:06 am
no tix available online - wtf?
September 29th, 2007 at 7:10 am
Anybody able to get tickets online?
September 29th, 2007 at 7:12 am
same problem here. Where are the tix???
September 29th, 2007 at 7:17 am
yeah! whats up with this? Why can’t we get tickets?
September 29th, 2007 at 7:18 am
Same issues here…there’s no way they are all sold out, right??? I keep trying and still no luchk
September 29th, 2007 at 7:19 am
this stinks!
September 29th, 2007 at 7:20 am
I can’t believe the complete morons who are defending and/or showing empathy for a crack dealer. Yes, I’m sure he’s innocent. If he makes amends and comes out a better person, sure, he gets a second chance. But if he is selling crack to kids he deserves to have the book thrown at him. With absolutely no sympathy. Bunch of freakin’ losers all of you who are defending this guy or getting all offended that he is being made to look the fool that he is.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:20 am
I guess I should’ve went to Kroger!
September 29th, 2007 at 7:21 am
This is driving me crazy!! Need tickets like I need my next breath!
September 29th, 2007 at 7:21 am
this sucks….what happened? No way tickets all sold out in 15 sec
September 29th, 2007 at 7:22 am
So no one was able to get tix online? Thats fishy…I thought I just typed slow
September 29th, 2007 at 7:22 am
I would doubt that they are available at Kroger. It has to be a glitch…. No way Scalpers got them all that quick. I was on right when they went on sale at 7 am, and I got nothin!
September 29th, 2007 at 7:22 am
I hear ya #99…I got my hungover arse out of bed for this?
September 29th, 2007 at 7:25 am
Rupp Arena site says they’re sold out…
http://www.rupparena.com/events/2006/20061013_bigBlueMadness.php
September 29th, 2007 at 7:25 am
87- mistakes are one thing. Selling Crack requires a long line of bad decisions. I have no sympathy for him, and neither should you. What if it comes out he’s been dealing for quite a while? Selling to kids, man. Is he still an innocent child who deserves a break? Screw him and every other crack head and dealer. I want as much of and as many examples made as can be out of crack heads. Yeah, he screwed up, but kissing his ass b/c he’s just a kid that makes mistakes is the wrong damn way to go about it. You set firm and just examples as a deterant. Not kiss ass and cover for them.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:26 am
Maybe all the tix went to the friends and family of Terrence Jennings?
September 29th, 2007 at 7:28 am
This ticket thing is ridiculous…I know there weren’t that many people on before me.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:28 am
Were there that many people camped out at the ticket office? I doubt it!
September 29th, 2007 at 7:29 am
#103–is that info for ‘06??? or talkin bout ‘07?
September 29th, 2007 at 7:29 am
I think it is obvious that many tix were gifted out to businnesses and people too important to have to wait in line. Billy G needs to fix this for the fans next year. If he talks, they will listen.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:30 am
buddy of mine says they are still standing in line on campus….i think that info is referring to ‘06.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:33 am
Hey LOD, Is the line moving in Lexington????? Wonder if there is a glitch???
September 29th, 2007 at 7:34 am
there has to be a glitch somewhere…otherwise there would be people on here that DID get tickets.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:36 am
well now he is saying everybody is leaving. something isn’t right. How do you go through 23,000 tix in 30 minutes, with none going online???
September 29th, 2007 at 7:37 am
THIS BLOWS!
September 29th, 2007 at 7:37 am
good call 109. A lot of tickets are handed out at UK before they go on sale
September 29th, 2007 at 7:37 am
hahahhahhahhahhahahahaahhahahaahha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 7:38 am
What up Cat fans? C A T S
September 29th, 2007 at 7:39 am
Tubby—I’m sure you still have plenty of seats left for all your home games!
September 29th, 2007 at 7:39 am
I may be a little consiracy theorist here, but I really believe that most tickets are already given to donors, other athletes, family of staff, big businesses….. The little man is getting the shaft here. This is bogus.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:39 am
What What!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 7:39 am
LOD, did he get tix??? We need someone on the ground… I do not think that is possible! With people knowing the tix were going to be on ticketmaster I do not think more than 1000 would have waited in line X 4 = 4000. I was on before 7, and no tix. Very strange….
September 29th, 2007 at 7:40 am
well that sucks. no friggin tickets after 100 tries
September 29th, 2007 at 7:40 am
they should have had it at Commonwealth Stadium this year
September 29th, 2007 at 7:41 am
Oh well, I was coming from out of state and there were no hotel rooms left anyway. I was gonna ask if I could bring the family to one of your homes.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:41 am
on at 7; trying since; no tickets
September 29th, 2007 at 7:42 am
wtf…this makes no sense…and where are the people that DID get tickets?
September 29th, 2007 at 7:42 am
He didnt get tix!
People have been in line all week.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:42 am
I could’nt get tickets online this year either and I’m a K-Fund doner.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:42 am
that’s insane… been in line for days and no tix!
September 29th, 2007 at 7:43 am
Yeah, it needs to be at Commonwealth next year.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:44 am
anyone got the number for the UK athletics office?
this really sucks
September 29th, 2007 at 7:45 am
I know people were in line, but I wonder really how many. I use to go and devote the entire day to UK BBALL back when it was at MEMORIAL and there were no tix given. First come first serve! It was a lot of fun, but now to stand in line for the opportunity to get tix seems silly. Guess I won’t get tix this year.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:45 am
I called but the after hours machine picked up….
September 29th, 2007 at 7:46 am
geez we sold 23k in half an hour when tubby was hear
with all the buzz from BCG and his inhuman work ethic they should have known that wasn’t enough for the big blue nation
September 29th, 2007 at 7:46 am
a little communication from uk athletics would be nice.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:47 am
This just goes to prove that you never really know a person until you really know him. There are a lot of people in the world that people only think they know what they are thinking and doing.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:47 am
folks…there is NO WAY they sold them all out in .05 seconds. Nobody got ANY online!
September 29th, 2007 at 7:47 am
Come on guys get real. Do you think they had that many tickets for the
general public? Do you think they would screw long time season ticket holders?
I got my noticed two weeks ago that I could get 1 ticket per season ticket and
I could request extra.
I know it sucks and doesn’t seem fair but it would suck to spend all that
money on season tickets and Midnight Madness Tickets go to someone else.
Sorry but that is the way it works. By the way I got my request of 7 tickets.
If you want to get Midnight Madness tickets try donating some money to the K-Fund and I don’t
mean something cheap like $100.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:48 am
138….some people aren’t made of money, nor do they all live around Lexington
September 29th, 2007 at 7:49 am
126…thats exeactly what I keep lookin’ for….No one at all?
September 29th, 2007 at 7:49 am
#139 tough s#$%!!! That is the way the world is, come on man you should
now that
September 29th, 2007 at 7:50 am
138. With all your dollars, can you bail me out? Lata playa
September 29th, 2007 at 7:50 am
139…. i agree some of us aren’t made of money…
this is the only chance we have all year to see them play and take our families without going broke
September 29th, 2007 at 7:50 am
141…go find a man to give you some loving…b*tch
September 29th, 2007 at 7:51 am
then why not just tell everyone you have to be a season ticket holder for basketball in order to get them?
September 29th, 2007 at 7:51 am
WTF I’ve been refreshing on ticketmaster since 6:55. Nice work UK. And they’re goin for 50-100 dollars each on ebay. Wow, those thousands of dollars of tuition really pay off.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:52 am
the people who waited in line and got nothing are much bigger fans than the jerk-offs that gave money
September 29th, 2007 at 7:52 am
aww well… i guess i just have to watch from the couch………..
September 29th, 2007 at 7:53 am
Well I know my buddies you have upper level season tickets didn’t
get offered MM tickets. I think it was certain season ticket holders.
Look everyone it isn’t sold out trust me. I bet if you call the athletic
dep on Monday and ask them how you can get MM tickets, they will tell you
to donate a certain amount and you can get tickets.
September 29th, 2007 at 7:54 am
that sux i’d rather pay 4 game tix 4 that price
September 29th, 2007 at 7:54 am
I am a season ticket holder!!!! I did not get tix!
September 29th, 2007 at 7:55 am
You know how they always say season tickets are sold out?
call the athletic dep and ask them how you can get season tickets.
They will tell you if you donate 20,000 dollars to the K-Fund you can get the rights
to season tickets
September 29th, 2007 at 7:55 am
there’s more fishy going on here than season ticket holders getting tickets early
September 29th, 2007 at 7:56 am
Oh well, can’t go back to sleep, guess I’m headed to the RED lot early. C-A-T-S!!!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 7:59 am
UNFORGIVABLE!!! I’m bout to call Bovice!
September 29th, 2007 at 8:00 am
#151 are you a member of the K-FUND? You have to be at least a All-SEC level member
They still have tickets for people who become K-FUND memebers All-SEC or up.
September 29th, 2007 at 8:01 am
Let me guess: Uofkcats voted for Bush. Power to the wealthy!
September 29th, 2007 at 8:06 am
From ukathletics.com:
THE TICKETMASTER.COM WEBSITE IS EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES distributing Big Blue Madness tickets. We are aware of the problem, and it is currently being addressed. Please be patient, as tickets will be available online as soon as possible. There are no tickets remaining at Memorial Coliseum.

September 29th, 2007 at 8:11 am
ticketmaster.com server is locked up from uk fan frustration
how crazy is that?
September 29th, 2007 at 8:11 am
I experienced the same thing last year. Did anyone else get tickets last year?
I am a K-Fund doner but don’t have 20,000.00 to become an “ALL SEC DONER”
September 29th, 2007 at 8:11 am
#157 I worked hard and earned all the money I have. I built a
company from scratch and lived very poor for a long time. I sacarficed
a lot to get where I am at. I was a 1st generation college graduate and
came from a family you didn’t value education and I was looked down on
by my entire family for many years for going to college. My wife and I
lived saved every penny for years to follow a dream we had. So I don’t feel
bad for being well off. Trust me there are a million more people who have more
than I do but what I do have was earned. I give alot of money to help others and
alot of money to give kids the opprotunities I didn’t have. I never forgot
where I come from
But I will not feel bad for what I have and you have no right to judge me.
September 29th, 2007 at 8:12 am
lol…. they didn’t know what they were getting themselves into
September 29th, 2007 at 8:13 am
Ticketmaster will continue to experience “technical difficulties” until I am given an apology.
September 29th, 2007 at 8:13 am
#166—That’s what’s so great about America! More power to ya!
September 29th, 2007 at 8:14 am
this sux…. looks like we’re gonna be waitin on this server fix until the game
September 29th, 2007 at 8:14 am
166. LOL!!!!!!!!!! I need a tissue.
September 29th, 2007 at 8:15 am
168… more power 2 ya!!!!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 8:20 am
Just got this e-mail from UK:
The Ticketmaster.com website is experiencing technical difficulties at the moment…no tickets have been sold online yet…as soon as the problem is fixed, the tickets will be available online. Half of the tickets were given away at the Coliseum this morning, and the other half will be available online as soon as the issue is corrected. Thank you for your patience…we hope to have it fixed ASAP.

September 29th, 2007 at 8:21 am
166…nobody cares about ur life story. Good for you…you got season tickets and all that!
I believe in the American Dream…I’m young and working on that myself…earned a college
scholarship and everything. The point is that Big Blue Madness should be an event that is made
available to everyone who waits in line or gets online early in the morning. Otherwise, the
ticket office should tell everyone to not waste their time. I’ll shut up now because I’m still
angry.
September 29th, 2007 at 8:22 am
So you’re saying there’s a chance………
September 29th, 2007 at 8:22 am
#169 Thank you. I can’t believe people actually put people down for
having money. You never know where people got their money. More people
than not who have money at my age earned it. People don’t see it from
a money stand point. If you donated alot of money to scholorships and
to fund something like the K-Fund wouldn’t you expect a little extra?
I have been on both sides of the road. I decided long ago I wasn’t going
to live like my family. My parents did everything they could but grew up in
a family that didn’t have much. I wasn’t going to do that. I wanted to make something
of myself so I my children wouldn’t have to grow up the way I did. I also wanted
to make something of my life so I could give back to my parents.
For people on here to judge me just because they didn’t get MM tickets reminds
me why I worked my a## and gave up alot to get where I am at today.
September 29th, 2007 at 8:22 am
I want to make a short statement regarding the technical difficulties experienced this morning by UK fans attempting to purchase tickets for Big Blue Madness on Ticketmaster.com: blame Alan Cutler.
September 29th, 2007 at 8:23 am
#174 it looks like there still is a chance you can get tickets online
if not i’ll see what I can do for you. I may have extra.
September 29th, 2007 at 8:25 am
176–I never had a poor guy sign my paycheck. Yes, I voted for BUSH!
September 29th, 2007 at 8:26 am
we’ll keep trying 178 and i appreciate it…I just have to go in to work later. sorry i was angry earlier.
September 29th, 2007 at 8:31 am
#180 have you tried calling the ticket office (i am sure they are
getting calls left and right). But I would try calling them
September 29th, 2007 at 8:39 am

September 29th, 2007 at 8:47 am
UGHHH Website not available at this time!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 8:51 am
Selling drugs to kids? Nice leap on that one. When the facts come out, it will be nothing like that. He IS NOT a dealer and was NOT selling drugs. Breathe on this a minute before everyone starts convicting him of being a drug dealer. He had very little and will come out that it wasn’t his.
Give the kid a break. Things aren’t always what they seem
September 29th, 2007 at 8:52 am
im section 213….i dont even care tho. I just want to be there!
September 29th, 2007 at 8:54 am
I am not sure why, but I must be being punished for waking up on time!!! I still can’t get the ticketmaster website to even come up!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 8:54 am
192 “it wasn’t mine! I was just holding it for my friend. In fact, he’s not even my friend.”
There are 2 sides to every story, but c’mon. Even if it wasn’t his, then he’s stupid for having it.
September 29th, 2007 at 8:56 am
192 — I also note you emphatically say he’s NOT a dealer and is NOT selling it. I assume by that, since he was caught with it, that he is a USER only. Crack cocaine. How nice for a kid with a (once)bright future.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:03 am
#188 - did you really get section 29 online?!? that’s awesome! I got 2 in sec 231. center court at least.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:07 am
Yeppers…I just kept trying every few minutes. All of a sudden it was working. Couldn’t believe it. After I called my bro to tell him we scored I popped back on to get 2 more ticket and got section 231 as well…they are moving fast!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:14 am
Glad to know you all are scoring…. I still got nothin!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:22 am
Bud was stupid. He chose some wrong people to hang around. I do agree with all of that.
Just wait till everything comes out.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:22 am
spoke to Ticket master, said no tickets…impossible! what a f up!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:28 am
I play ball with Bud — he has been into selling drugs for awhile now. He doesn’t use drugs — he just likes the money from selling coke rocks. I knew that he would get caught — he has gotten too big into it around here,
September 29th, 2007 at 9:34 am
For those of you who didn’t get BBM tix, better hit the streets of ebay:
“As of 9:20 am Saturday morning, all Big Blue Madness tickets have been distributed, and the event is sold out. Half of the available tickets were distributed at 7:00 am at Memorial Coliseum, and half of the available tickets were distributed online at ticketmaster.com at 8:45 am due to technical difficulties. We appreciate your patience with the delay this morning.” — UKAthletics.com
September 29th, 2007 at 9:36 am
got two tickets 5 minutes ago line. Just keep trying
September 29th, 2007 at 9:50 am
definitely sold out–my seats are the very last row
Anyone have a good referral for sherpa?????????
September 29th, 2007 at 9:54 am
I was up at 6:45, on Ticketmaster right before 7am. Worked the internet like crazy until 9:10. I did not get tickets. While those of you were getting through, mine did not. Kinda sad, but I guess I will watch on TV this year!
September 29th, 2007 at 9:55 am
Went down there this morning and got two blocks of four. It was way crazier than last year. This season is going to rock.
September 29th, 2007 at 9:57 am
I already have tickets and I just got on for the fun of it and I got
3 tickets. They are still selling. just keep trying
September 29th, 2007 at 10:00 am
Tim, Rob’s Hairgel, KYone: What you forget to realize is that Mr. Mackey HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH TWO FELONIES. If a 17/18 year old commits “big boy crimes,” then he is fair game to “big boy criticism” and “big boy news coverage.” The intern wasn’t “attacking” Mackey, but merely passing on the basketball news of the day. Mackey is(was) a top Kentucky bball recruit, so his arrest fits within the theme of this forum. The intern noted that he hoped “Mackey will eventually see the light and realize he’s blessed with tremendous ability.” Doesn’t sound like an attack to me. However, labeling the intern’s writing “white bread lameness,” “not funny,” and to label him a loser…well, that’s your “classless attack” right there.
Interen, the vast majority of your stuff is hilarious. Much appreciated, keep up the good work!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:10 am
I got tix online after a real load of crap dealing with incompetent fools (UK Ticket Office and Ticketmaster). Mine were in section 219, and I am pretty sure through ticketmaster only uppers were made available. The TO won’t confirm it, but I’ve got a ton of people who were all accessing this morn, and none got lowers. I think BlueBlitz is full of crap. Maybe he can join in the lower mentioned art project.
Those who kept refreshing over and over were more than likely locked out after x number of clicks. Ticketmaster does this to protect thier servers from bots. So those who couldn’t access Ticketmaster after a while, you got screwed. Blame UK.
When I fly in to Lex in Friday, I’m going to go lay a freah crap right on the ticket booth #1 tray. I hope to see some of you contribute to my art project called “UK Ticket Office Brown Tray Blues”. I’ve thought long and hard, and it’s really the only way I can show them how it feels to deal with them.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:16 am
Cocaine is a hell of a drug.
September 29th, 2007 at 10:21 am
Well I guess I was one of those that hit refresh too many times! I rebooted my PC, erased all my cookies, and I still cannot get on ticketmaster!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:28 am
212… ticketmaster did the same thing to me.. i called a friend and scroed 4 in section 241 row s
September 29th, 2007 at 10:28 am
btw ticketmaster really sucks!!!!!!!
September 29th, 2007 at 10:41 am
I heard Kige has some extra’s
September 29th, 2007 at 10:59 am
WVU- another “title wannabe” from the Big Least shows what a fraud that conference truly is. Loserville
and the rest of those second rate junior colleges need to join the OVC where the idiots can be competitive.
What a joke the Big Least is on every level. And now that Mackey is a crack selling ho, I am sure Loserville
and Tom “Prison Warden” Jurich will be beating down his door to give him a “second chance”. LMAO Man,
those Loserville idiots are pathetic.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:14 am
#210 I can confirm that Ticketmaster only sells uppers. If you want lowers you got to go to Memorial. I bought tickets online three years ago and got screwed. Ever since i have been going down to Memorial.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:19 am
As AD of the University of San Quenton@ Louisville, I am in formal negotiations with Mr. Mackey to become
a valued member of our second rate ghetto sports program. I normally wait until a thug has 6 or 7 arrests,
but if this dude is dealing rock already, he is perfect for our program.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:20 am
210…be careful who you say is full of crap. I have 2 tickets in section 43 and the papers from ticketmaster to prove it. The reason others probably are in upper is they went for 4 tickets and they probably sell them in blocks. Your IQ is probably less than my shoe size.
September 29th, 2007 at 11:56 am
put his worthless ass in prison where it belongs
September 29th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
Did he inhale? Has the pharmicology lobby weighed in yet? Does Anonymous’ oppinion ever matter? These are all points to consider when rushing to judge a misguided young man in dubious circumstance. Surely his personal judgement is equally questionable; attending Scott Co., selecting IU, keeping a pocket full o’ stones for distribution purposes, etc. I’ve not seen a tragic turn of career prospects this bad since Bill Keightly turned down the regional Quality Assurance managerial position for Krispy Kreme.
Surely this is a case for Matt Jones, Esq.(retainer pending)
September 29th, 2007 at 12:56 pm
Not making a big deal out of it but he was charged with possession of COCAINE, not crack cocaine, there is a big difference and much more serious penalties if it was crack.
September 29th, 2007 at 1:52 pm
Agreed there is a vast disparity in the sentencing guidelines of rock v. powder, no thanks to my administration. Also, there is a good varience between intercourse and a Presidential ‘mike check’.
Bubba
September 29th, 2007 at 4:11 pm
shoot him
September 29th, 2007 at 4:11 pm
shoot his sorry ass
September 29th, 2007 at 4:12 pm
typical though ain’t it?
you KNOW it is
September 30th, 2007 at 3:16 am
The godfather likes to keep it rocking and cracking all night long, but he dont be using the rock and the crack and all that junk to DANCE THE FUNK!!!!
September 30th, 2007 at 4:42 am
BigBlueBlitz - I think your real full of crap, and the only thing I’ll be careful of is to not follow you because it’s likely you’ll be dumping some more soon. Saying that you got lowers doesn’t prove you got lowers. If you were the only guy who got some then feel partially special. We all got screwed by the way that thing was handled.
What seats did you get? I could leave you a gift on your seat in memory of the UK Ticket Office!
October 1st, 2007 at 8:12 am
This is a sad story and not really one that makes for good humor from a bunch of grown men.
October 1st, 2007 at 12:57 pm
Who has extra and what do you want for them ?
October 2nd, 2007 at 7:38 pm
He can play for Pitino
October 3rd, 2007 at 11:38 am
When you hang with thugs, this is what happens. And the sad thing is he only got a ten day suspension from schoo from school. Everybody keeps saying where are the parents, he does’nt even live with his parents. He lives with a mentor, who hasnt taught him anything but crack sales. Maybe this kid will play again, we’ll have to wait and see. Somebody will take him, maybe Eddie Sutton will come back to coaching. But seriously, he will probably have to go JUCO for at least a year and keep his nose clean and show he’s changed before anyone will take a chance.
October 8th, 2007 at 3:16 pm
Dont Care wat n e of u all say bud is a gud person and deserves a second chance and imma stick wit em n till he starts hoopin again
October 10th, 2007 at 2:26 pm
UK sucks and they suck at basketball and Billy G is a pervert who dates my childhood friend’s college age sister thats poor and he should be strung up by his balls and to Jonathon Caldwell what up boy and to all you who are hating on Bud shove it cuz UK should be on their knees for a player like Bud Mackey and also to all of you Scott County haters when someone in this state beats us come tell me ooo i have a friend who has 4 tix and he will sell the set for $400
October 10th, 2007 at 2:27 pm
4 tix sec 28 row A
December 13th, 2007 at 2:16 pm
For all you scott county haters, quit raggin on our county so what bud messed up but can any of the other basketball players match the talent he has. Everyone makes mistakes but how you overcome that mistake defines the person you are. In my book bud messed up. SO bud step up quit that crap and do your thing and in the end you will be succesful.
