I recommend putting away anything breakable, valuable, irreplaceable, or sharp before watching these highlights from Saturday’s massacre. It seemed like it was meant to be. They are who we thought they were. And we let ‘em off the hook.

As noted in a thread further down, does anyone think Derrick Locke will really try to enter the NFL draft?

how does micah johnson’s monster hit in overtime not make this highlight reel? he went through the line untouched and smashed the running back. haven’t we been screwed enough lately?

What i dont get is how MJ said we could never compete in this league because we cant get recruits. We beat Georgia, AUburn, played SC close and shouldve beatin Miss St. and we played Tenn close. I’d say we are getting close. If the team stays together next year with a seasoned Newton watch out!

Nice post, Drew, I mean Patrick Barker.

It doesn’t show the coaching blunder of not playing Cobb to win the game.

Onto something a bit less nauseating. Now that Charlie Weiss is out of ND, who do you think will replace him?
Brian Kelly? Jon Gruden? Steve Kragthorpe?
November 30th, 2009 at 5:12 pm
Seriously? I liked you better last week. Jerk.

I have not been checking this site for the last few days–I couldn’t think about UK football for awhile after the pain from Saturday night. Has anyone explained why the live blog from the game ended after three quarters?

Just some opinions.
1. How can you not go to your heart and soul to finish the game?
This would be equal benching J. Meeks when you are down 3 with 10 seconds. Unexcusable, especially for the 2nd. time this year. The coaching decisions/play calling in crunch time have been costly to the Cats this year in games they could have won.
2. Recruiting excuses- This is a load of crap. How can Cincy build a dominating program in 2 years? Boise State? TCU? It comes down to investment/commitment to the program and the willingness to pay a coach that can get it done. I believe it takes more work and skill to get talent here, but it has been done other places. If you settle for mediocrety, that is what you will have.
3. I hate losing, especially to team of pumpkins to the south. I hate excuse making more. I realize the players have to execute whatever play is called, but our coaches primary job is to position them to win. They failed miserably at the end of the game in regulation and OT.
* I will say that I believe Papaw was the right choice at the right time. He has improved the overall talent level and brought stability to the program. Much better than the famed Stack I debacle that Curry had or the wreckless, insane approach of Mumme. However, I don’t believe the program will take the next step with Joker. Joker is a extremely nice guy and great to have in your program, but not as head coach. I believe he will be the Cragthorpe of UK and take us back to the 4-8 years.
This is just my opinion. I could be and hope I am wrong.

Notre Dame needs a dynamic offensive “genius”. Should we give them a good recommendation?

How was there no review of that pass completion for UT where the ball popped out??? One ref ruled it incomplete, the other said complete. Brooks should’ve called timeout to give the crew upstairs time to review, instead UT hustled to the line and got off a quick snap. The officiating in the game left a bit to be desired!

Happy 25-year Anniversary, Kentucky! It’s been hilarious to hear all of the UK fans complain over the last few days. The best complaint I’ve heard is that UT’s band played Rocky Top while UK’s band was playing their alma mater song, and that this was “disrespectful.” Give me a break. Maybe if you guys would beat UT once every 25 years, they would show that type of respect. We witnessed UT fans being yelled at, spit on, having food and drinks thrown at them, and being physically assaulted in Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday night. It was a disgrace to the University of Kentucky. I’m not stereotyping UK fans as all being classless, because I know many respectable fans of the Cats. However, I’ve never witnessed such animosity from opposing fans, not even in Gainesville, FL. Maybe UK sees this game as a big rivalry, but Tennessee doesn’t view it that way at all. We’ve won every game since 1985. Not much of a rivalry there on UT’s end. Maybe all you ignorant UK fans should wait until UK football actually beats Tennessee… then talk trash.

your on a UK website, talking shit about the team and fans. What the hell do you expect??

I sat in a section with numerous other UT fans around, never heard a bad comment directed at them whatsoever. Walked about 15 minutes to parking alongside bunches of UT fans, never saw or hear anything bad directed at them.
On the other hand, I’ve been seriously physically threatened at Ole Miss and LSU road games, for simply walking down the concourse wearing UK colors. What I saw at Commonwealth Stadium was tame and cordial…
