Play for the freaking win. The way they were moving the ball Cobb could have single handedly won them this game. I don’t get it, I don’t. It’s spineless.
I should be happy this is in OT after the second half, but this game should be over now. If they lose this game it goes squarely on Joker. Those final plays were inexcusable on any level.
I believe in Newton as the future, I do, but he needs to be a minimal factor here. You’ve ridden Cobb all year (when effing Joker LET YOU anyway), do it here.
105 - Normally I’d be one saying it’s a cheap excuse and the team just should have played better, but no, you’re right. You’re 100% right. After that fumble Kentucky had the game won. They could not stop Randall to save their lives, and Joker takes it out of his hands. Joker stopped getting him the ball and played for the tie. At home. In side the red zone. With all the momentum.
Are you sh*tting me? Then the play calling in OT left it on the foot on Lones, when once again, Cobb is no where to be found.
Joker Phillips deserves to be a head coach as much as I do. What a joke.
#106-last year UK was CLEARLY the better team. This is UT was. Stats don’t lie. Yes, the UK play calling wasn’t all that great. But the 1st have was pretty even, but the Vols dominated the 2nd half.
Can we get a recruiting position for Joker and get somebody in there that can actually run an agressive offense?? I long for the day when I see Kentucky make a pass out past the first down marker. IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING THAT IS WORKING!!! USE IT!!! SCREW YOU JOKER PHILLIPS!!! GRRRR!!!
110–The future looks like Kentucky football the way it was before we had papaw. Once papaw retires to the farm we’ll be back in the glory days of Bill Curry, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. I can’t wait…
Good pick for our next head coach, Barnhart–I hope you sleep well.
With South Carolina and Georgia pulling off wins, there are 5 (6 if Arkansas loses) 7-5 SEC Teams, We went from Outback on New Years day to Tennessee or Shreveport. WOW…
And how many times did Locke touch the ball in the second?
3?
TENN dominated the 2nd, because of play-calling. Newton throws, what 10 incompletes in a row? Yet Joker keeps calling for him to throw it.
The last drive of regulation should have been all Cobb with a little Locke thrown in. Nothing but. Burn every timeout you have to give them a “breather”. But all that should be called is plays where they touch the ball.
This was very close to being a 10-2 season. If we had won at USC (we do if Hartline doesn’t go down) and then at home against MSU (cant believe we lost that one) and now tonight!!
It really can’t be said enough — Joker is a detriment in close games. He kept this streak alive in 2007 by playing for the tie in regulation and he does it again tonight. Going further, this whole coach-in-waiting thing should be rethought. Let him go off and be a head coach for a few years somewhere else; let’s see if he actually has what it takes before we hand him the reins. Have Brooks stay on another 2-3 years. You can’t tell me there aren’t plenty of other coordinators out there who could recruit just as adequately as Joker and call a much much much better offensive game.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:18 pm
Lane Kiffen is Bruce Pearl’s BUTT BUDDY!
November 28th, 2009 at 9:32 pm
great game tonight so far.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:34 pm
Penalties, over throws, zero defense. Any possible way to take away a win they should have, they’ve done it. Unreal.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:41 pm
Had to turn it off. Love the Cats, but this streak is just busting my balls.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
Arm tackle someone again. Why not, it’s all they’ve done. They’re letting Hardesty make them his bitch.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:47 pm
We’re a horrible run defense
November 28th, 2009 at 9:48 pm
How is it the live blog goes down after three quarters????
November 28th, 2009 at 9:53 pm
#7–jones wanted to focus on the game.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:53 pm
I don’t blame Matt for cutting this one. This game is making me sicker than the blowouts against Florida and Bama with Flatline at the helm.
And on cue, Newton overthrows another first down.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:54 pm
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH… run more than one play a minute.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:54 pm
I’m looking forward to when Joker, inventor of the Prevent Offense, is head coach.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:55 pm
Horrible sense of doom has overcome me.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
That wasn’t obvious Burden
November 28th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
Pass interference call…Horrible play by Burden…
November 28th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
And Tennessee is going to properly bleed the clock
November 28th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
That wasn’t interference.
November 28th, 2009 at 9:59 pm
THANK YOU Micah. Someone playing some freaking defense.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:01 pm
Gotta think UK is feeling good now. Got the ball with a chance to win. I sure hope the UT D keeps it from happening…..
UT has outplayed UK in this game. But plenty of times in the last 24 years UK outplayed UT and lost. Time will tell….
November 28th, 2009 at 10:01 pm
Thank the lord Micah hammered him in the backfield. Come on offense.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:02 pm
I don’t care if he’s fumbled a dozen times in this game. This drive should be Cobb, Cobb, then more Cobb.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:03 pm
Are you effing kidding me with these plays? SERIOUSLY?
November 28th, 2009 at 10:03 pm
Newton is the guy people had been waiting for?
November 28th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
WHat the FCUK….two pass plays??? we have time…why not run the ball on 2 and 10
November 28th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
Joker is an idiot
November 28th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
21. Couldnt agree more. I thought the might mix in a few runs to begin with
November 28th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
Morgan Newton…wow…just tuck the ball and run it…
November 28th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
If all our recievers were 7 foot we’d be fine, who is he throwing to, the Jolly Green Giant?
November 28th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
**they
November 28th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
Cobb doesn’t touch the ball in the clutch again. Joker Phillips ladies and gentlemen.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:06 pm
OMG…..Kentucky has it
November 28th, 2009 at 10:06 pm
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! FUMBLE!
November 28th, 2009 at 10:06 pm
I called it, Tennessee on offense was our best chance to move the ball.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
Run the f’in ball. get a first down
November 28th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
In 2001 it was a fumble by a TE from Danville. In 2009 it’s a fumble by a TE from Berea…..
November 28th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
Wooooooooo. Get a f’in TD
November 28th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
Thank you, defense, for overcoming Joker’s moronic playcalling
November 28th, 2009 at 10:08 pm
Cobb touches it and the ball moves? SHOCKING!
November 28th, 2009 at 10:08 pm
No overtime!
November 28th, 2009 at 10:08 pm
37. Yeah, very. Hopefuly they bleed more clock snd get a TD
November 28th, 2009 at 10:08 pm
Ridiculous swing in BIG MO!!!!
November 28th, 2009 at 10:09 pm
I so do not want this on the foot on Lones. In the end zone, win or bust.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:11 pm
We’re playing for the tie?!
November 28th, 2009 at 10:11 pm
Put Cobb at quarterback. Geez
November 28th, 2009 at 10:11 pm
…we’re playing for the tie.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
Newton! Newtown! WTH!!!!!! Why Newton on that f’n play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
November 28th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
I’d rather have had Kragthorpe having called the plays on this last drive.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
Cobb is moving the ball like mad, and they go back to Newton on 2nd and 3rd. Joker is a freaking albatross.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
fake?
November 28th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
Horrible play call, you don’t want a game like this in overtime
November 28th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
45. Exactly. WTF?? Why wouldnt you out Cobb at QB and run the wildcat. Dumbest play calling of the year
November 28th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
It’s good!
November 28th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
Cr@p. Probably OT.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
Ridiculous…M. Newton should have never touched the goddamn ball…
November 28th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
We should have just won the game WTF
November 28th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
Play for the freaking win. The way they were moving the ball Cobb could have single handedly won them this game. I don’t get it, I don’t. It’s spineless.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:14 pm
Lones only lived in KNoxville for a year or 2 (I think?)
November 28th, 2009 at 10:14 pm
Joker and PawPaw were playing for OT. Only reason why they would give Newton that ball.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:15 pm
yes…thank you announcers…the two states do border each other…and thus recruiting areas overlap…Mind BLOWING we know…
November 28th, 2009 at 10:15 pm
57- Why do you play for OT?!
November 28th, 2009 at 10:15 pm
OT it is.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:16 pm
Freaking ridiculous.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:16 pm
How bout a pick 6 in overtime?
November 28th, 2009 at 10:16 pm
I don’t like this game going to overtime, the chance to win was right in front of us… How many chances are we really going to get?
November 28th, 2009 at 10:16 pm
#59 I have no idea why they would play for OT. Gotta ask Joker and PawPaw.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:16 pm
YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!! HELLLL-O!
November 28th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
I don’t have a problem with Newton getting one carry, but Cobb has to get 2 of 3 on a 3 down set.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
#58–Did you know Cobb was is from Knoxville? That Heshimu means warrior? That Tubby got his nickname….
November 28th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
You play to win the game. I heard that somewhere before.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
I should be happy this is in OT after the second half, but this game should be over now. If they lose this game it goes squarely on Joker. Those final plays were inexcusable on any level.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:18 pm
Again, Joker runs the prevent offense. Cobb said last time that when the game is on the line he doesn’t need a breather.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:18 pm
This girl on the education connection is the best part of going to commercials
November 28th, 2009 at 10:18 pm
65 you beat me to it.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
They say good coaches learn from their mistakes, but obviously Joker didn’t learn anything from the South Carolina game.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
Fantastic television work. Miss the entire coin flip.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
Hold UT to a kick at least here.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
I believe in Newton as the future, I do, but he needs to be a minimal factor here. You’ve ridden Cobb all year (when effing Joker LET YOU anyway), do it here.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
73 Or the Mississippi state game or the alabama game or….
November 28th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
ooops, Cats on O first.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
Newton to moncell allen, screw playing to tie we’re playing to lose.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
72 — that Herm Edwards quote and Jim Mora “Playoffs!” are my all time favorites…
November 28th, 2009 at 10:21 pm
I think our best option to win is to leave it to the arm of Newton
–Joker Philips
November 28th, 2009 at 10:21 pm
What in the f*** are these PLAYS? Since they got down deep in Tennessee territory it’s been a whole lot of ARE YOU KIDDING?s.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:21 pm
I saw that option play coming when Locke lined up behind Cobb. Shocker.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:21 pm
we’re gonna lose this game
November 28th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
abortion.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
Thanks for the loss joker.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
Lones. Lones. Lones.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
Thank you, Joker.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
This game is over. Joker Phillips, thank you. Thank you for single handedly handing Tennessee #25. What a f***ing way to lose this game. It was ours.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
How set in stone is the contract that has Joker being our next coach?
November 28th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
Joker needs to go.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
PICK PICK PICK
November 28th, 2009 at 10:24 pm
Liked the Corey Peters slap on the rear of the ref.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:24 pm
Maybe Lane does not want to win either.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:25 pm
OK, so he does. Dagger.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:25 pm
F*ck you Joker Phillips.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:25 pm
Joker. This one is on you.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:26 pm
I hate you Joker, honestly, does he really have to be our next coach?
November 28th, 2009 at 10:26 pm
I love you guys, I really do but
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

November 28th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
PREVENT OFFENSE!!! That you, Joker.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
I’ve not been one to question Joker, but I can’t fathom why we ran anything but WildCobb at the end of regulation.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
So much for all the crap talked by the KSR boys……
Great game, but the better team won. This year.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
That is just ridiculous. I will go out immediately and buy two UT hats. One to cr@p in and the other to cover it up.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
What a shitty end. Why an option out of the wildcat such shitty playcalling.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:28 pm
102- No we had that game won, Joker lost it, not the team.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:28 pm
macon_volfan: if you mean better coached team…then yeah.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:28 pm
o well at least we will spank some tennessee ass in basketball. Maybe Wall goes for 55.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
104- We shouldn’t have been in that OT anyway.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
Wilcat…big yards….Wildcat…big yards….Redzone…F The Wildcat
November 28th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
SO,this is the 2nd game Joker’s playcalling has cost us, right?
The future looks bright.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:30 pm
105 - Normally I’d be one saying it’s a cheap excuse and the team just should have played better, but no, you’re right. You’re 100% right. After that fumble Kentucky had the game won. November 28th, 2009 at 10:36 pm
The one Wildcat call in OT was so obviously an attempt at an option, I was calling it in my living room. Monte Kiffin had it easy on that one.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:36 pm
Can we get a recruiting position for Joker and get somebody in there that can actually run an agressive offense?? I long for the day when I see Kentucky make a pass out past the first down marker. IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING THAT IS WORKING!!! USE IT!!! SCREW YOU JOKER PHILLIPS!!! GRRRR!!!

i cant believe cobb wasn’t in there for that final series, that was ridiculous, joker is a joke
November 28th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
If the coaches ever acted like they wanted to win a game it would be one thing. All of our playcalling seems to be designed to not lose, never to win.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:44 pm
117. I call it the Prevent Offense.
November 28th, 2009 at 10:44 pm
Go post on a UT site and let UK fans vent!! Seriously!
November 28th, 2009 at 10:45 pm
With South Carolina and Georgia pulling off wins, there are 5 (6 if Arkansas loses) 7-5 SEC Teams, We went from Outback on New Years day to Tennessee or Shreveport. WOW…
November 28th, 2009 at 10:46 pm
Time to put the “For Sale” sign on Joker’s lawn…
November 28th, 2009 at 10:49 pm
Arkansas missed FG: BCS: Fla & Ala, Capital One: LSU, Cotton: OleMiss, Outback: Tenn, Peach: Georgia (4-4 in league), Liberty/Music City/Shreveport/Birmingham: choices of 7-5, 3-5 Kentucky So.Car., Arkansas, Auburn

2nd game this year lost due to poor coaching.
