GameDay Hotlinks

by @ 10:00 am. Filed under Blue Blooded Opinions

Good morning!  Can you feel that buzz in the air?  Feels like a great day to start a winning streak against the Low Down Vols.  I can’t wait for this game.  Commonwealth is going to have an atmosphere like we haven’t seen in a long time.  I’m predicting the Cats win 35-20.  Matt has (maybe unwisely) left me in charge today and I’ll be putting you all through the GameDay paces.  I figured we’d start the morning off with a nice batch of links, some relevant, some not, but all for your reading pleasure-

Friend of KSR, Chip Cosby, writes a piece that quotes Christian Johnson as saying that “(Fans) will tear Lexington apart.  The fans and the citizens of Lexington will run crazy until the sun comes up.  And I’m going to be a part of it.”

GoVolsXtra.com  comes up with 5 ways to beat the Cats.  None of them are good.  You won’t stop Randall Cobb on this night.  No, sir.

NBADraft.net recently updated its 2010 Mock Draft.  Of course,  The Great Wall of Kentucky still sits at #1, primed to steal Devin Harris’ starting spot in New Jersey (An aside: Is NJ going to actually win a game this year?  They sit at 0-16, one loss to the Lakers away from the worst start in NBA history.  Think about it, Johnny.  You might want to stick around for another year.)  What else is interesting about the mock is that one UK player is climbing, another is sliding.

So the truth starts coming out in the Tiger Woods saga.  Turns out, his smoking hot model of a wife probably wasn’t using the golf club for the right reasons.  And don’t judge me for reading TMZ.com.  Funniest tweet I saw yesterday was from former UK big man and current Denver Nuggets exec Bret Bearup- “It’s taken a while, but this morning I finally outdrove Tiger Woods.”

Finally, since it’s my day to run the show, I’ll post this link that I’m sure only about 4 of you will appreciate, and probably then only the people in my graduate program who read the blog.  It’s an article from ForeignPolicy.com that compares Bill Belichick’s call to go for it on 4th down against the Colts to the War in Afghanistan.  It makes the case that Darth Hoodie made the right call.

We’ll have plenty more throughout the day, including Matt Jones Live Blogging the UT game.  So go grab yourself an Orange Crush at Speedway and get ready to win our 8th game of the season.  Go Cats!

Watch College Gameday this morning, I really think that they all are going to cry just knowing that this is Tebow’s last home game.
There is more to this Tiger story. Are we really supposed to believe his wife had to rescue him from the car by smashing the window with a golf club? Sounds like a cover story to me.
I DO BELIEVE we will today with all my heart but I felt the same way in 2007 so I will remain hopeful.
No turnovers, few penalties and we win. UK 27 UT 20, Cobb 185 total yards, Locke 125 yards rushing.

Lots of Freshmen in the Mock Draft but I am surprised to see Renardo Sydney on there considering he has not played a minute yet.

  3. BigBlueDunks Says:

After reading the comments on GoVolsXtra.com and it is sickening how easy they think they will when this game! We have to end this streak tonight! I hope Cobb puts on his game face and shows UT what they missed out on. UT is way too cocky coming into this game and are about to get a wake up call!

  4. BigBlueDunks Says:

Win this game I need to proof read stuff before I send it lol

tigers story dont add up! how can you drive a 100,000 dollar escalade, and the air bags dont deploy when you hit a tree? me thinks his wife chased him out of the house with a golf club, smashing the escalade all along! rumor has it, tiger has been dipping his wick where it dont belong. cats will beat the robbing vols 24-17! GO CATS!!!

  7. Old Henry Man Says:

This could be a good, good night. I was at the game the last time UK won in Lexington.

  8. GoCats2 Says:

6)The amazing part to me is that ESPN does not mention that part of the story. He was in National Enquirer just 2 days ago about an affair he had in Australia last week! A minor car accident where you have to smash the window with a golf club? Because the doors were locked? It makes more sense for her to smash the window than to run and get the keys? The police said the FRONT end was smashed yet he BACKED into a tree! Come on ESPN! IF this was anyone but Tiger who is worshipped they would be reporting all these other details.

  9. TayPrinceJr. Says:

    5. Please say it ain’t so! I was hoping for a contract extension he did such a good job of promoting their football “tradition”.

  10. bigbluedude Says:

    8. he supposedly met this chick at austrailia and a couple other places. one thing about it, if they divorce, his wife will probably be the richest woman in florida! you think she would be interested in a broken down OLD vietnam vet? LOL

  13. KibblesnVicks Says:

i just want to add that Today is the day. UK has to win this game. its the biggest game in our history. We HAVE to get the monkey off our back. Lane Kiffin is the epitome of my HATRED for this team. TODAY the streak ends…it has too. GO CATS…ravage, kill, plunder and pillage the VOLS!!!

  14. ukwildcatwildfan Says:

    3) They have a right to be cocky, and until we can end this streak, there is no reason they shouldn’t be cocky.

  15. gcat4496 Says:

Yeah - All over the internet & Tabloid magazines that Tiger has been having an affair with some New York City event planner. So it must be he and his wife got into a big argument. She scratched Tiger up and busted his lip. He drives off as his wife chases him with a golf club. The distraction causes him to hit a fire hydrant and tree as his wife smashes up the SUV with a Golf Club. This story is getting crazier by the minute.

  16. gcat4496 Says:

I was thinking that Demarcus would be a lottery pick, but he is projected at #25 right now. Some are speculating that Bledsoe would go as well but he is not even projected to be drafted. It might sure things up for Cals 2nd year if Bledsoe and Demarcus return. I really see Eric as a 3 to 4 year college player, and if this holds true, the Cats will be solid at PG and the Center position for the next several years with Daniel and Eric. Cal will just have to continue to add some scorers and forward and guard to keep the mojo going until he lands his next monster class.

  17. IcemanG2 Says:

    Cousins is not returning.

  18. hooperstar54 Says:

so the nets could have an all kentucky backcourt with john wall and courtney lee. john, just stay, ull b #1 whenever you go, and who wants to play for the nets lol. pat leaves the country, boogie and jodie in milwaulkee? pistons tryin to get bak to the “badboys” days with lance stephenson? lol. says they also draft za-vee-ayy, y would they need both?

  19. bhtxcatfan Says:

Tiger’s wife with that golf club did what the PGA Pro’s can’t do….
She beat the hell out of him.

  20. gcat4496 Says:

No Samardo Samuels. This guy was the #1 rated player out of school and a projected lottery pick out of high school. After two years under Pitino he still can’t make it in the NBA?
