Hey, this is not a test! This is rock and roll! Time to rock it from the Delta to the D.M.Z.! I am your host with the posts and we will be your guide for an exciting Saturday in UK sports here at WKaaaaaaaayEssArr. These radio jokes doing anything for you? I’ll move on.
With two big games on the agenda, I want to officially welcome you to Kentucky Christmas. UK hosting Rider tips off at 1:00p on Fox Sports South. Football kicks off at 7:45 tonight on ESPN2. Let’s get to some morning links, shall we?
-Chip Cosby, he of the fine wardrobe, has an article detailing the mindset of the Cats as they head into the Georgia game. In the article, Brooks says the Wildcats need to run the ball, win the turnover battle, and not give up big plays. Sounds like a plan.
-Speaking of Cosby, he gave an interview to David Hale and picked the Cats to lose by 10 based on Cobb’s injury. The Cats are 9.5 point dogs so Cosby likes Georgia to cover.
-Keeping with football, Cobb is still a game time decision. Tough call here. Do you play a gimpy Cobb and risk further injury or save him for Tennessee? I am leaning toward the latter. Additionally, reserve DL Antawane Glenn has the flu and will not play.
-Switching to basketball, two big upsets last night as Syracuse upends North Carolina and Ohio State outlasts California. North Carolina is playing sloppy and gave up 18 turnovers to the ‘Cuse on the heel (heh) of coughing up 19 to Ohio State in the previous game. That is simply Gillispie-esque.
-In news that will make your stomach turn, Tennessee is flat destroying opponents. Ugh. I want SEC teams to do well against non-conference opponents, but I can’t support this kind of bravado. Bruce Pearl must be insufferable right about now. On a lighter note, Ole Miss beat Kansas State to remain undefeated.
-For those following the Bowie/Idle Hour story, the club is going to review Bowie’s application next week.
As an aside, if you are having trouble finding the games, I have a bit of advice. Satellite companies have sports pack add-ons (Dish or Direct TV). They are cheap and you don’t have to worry about which Fox Sports channel the Cats might (or might not) show up on. Plus, you get all those other regional channels so you can catch up on those Monmouth v Wyoming match-ups you have been missing. To all you people in Lexington that have Insight, you get ESPN 360 for free. You never have an excuse to miss a UK game. Lucky.
We will have more posts as the day goes on. Matt Jones will have a Live Blog during the basketball game and a rag tag group of Goonies will host a football Live Blog at 7:00p. Will UK sweep the day? Will our basketball team extend the all-time wins lead over North Carolina? Will the Wildcats enhance their bowl position? Will Drew Franklin do the truffle shuffle? Lots of questions will be answered today. Stay tuned.

I don’t think anyone ranked beating Cal is a big upset. They were the most over ranked team coming in to this season short of Mississippi State without Sydney.

As an aside, ESPN 360 is free for all Insight viewers, including Louisville and Northern Kentucky, not just Lexington.

Okay, Idle Hour will welcome Mr. Bowie with open arms … just no package deal including Dinner Bell Mel. The 19th hole buffet must remain members only.
