When the ball tipped off against Campbellsville Monday night, I’m sure you thought to sighed a sigh of relief and finally found peace in the fact that you weren’t going to suffer through any more pre-season previews. Well, not so fast my friends! Two more extensive previews of yoru Wildcats were released online today and you wouldn’t really be a true fan if you didn’t read them. And besides, it’s not like you have to be prodded to read about the Cats. You love Kentucky basketball. You know you love Kentucky basketball.
So read up.
The Faux Hawk continues to give the Cats love this year and his SEC preview is no different as he picks the Cats to win the conference and for a couple of players to be active in the awards. Of course, he picks his National Player of the Year, John Wall, to win the conference award and factor into the first team. Parrish picks Patterson to perform practically perfectly, placing Perry Stevenson’s protege on his premiere pre-season posse. He also puts DeMarcus Cousins on the second team.
Not to be outdone, Rivals’ Steve Megargee breaks down the Cats and says that he wouldn’t be surprised if they made a run to the Final Four this year behind their talented freshmen. He also crowns them as his #2 pre-season team.
Go Cats.

hahaha, Beisner, was that part of the coachcal.com deal? You have to slowly convert what you say from his website?

Even though I love my cats and I am thrilled about this season, I am not sure we deserve the preseason #2. We will later in the year, but I don’t think it is fair at this point.

I’m daydreaming about how lethal this team would be with Wall at the point, Meeks on one wing, Dodson on the other, Patterson, and Cousins working the paint, and Orton and Bledsoe providing lots of pop off the bench. That would solve the outside shooting problem.

I think our preseason top 5 ranking is very justified. The Cats aren’t the only top team that is rough around the edges right now. There are Kansas, Michigan State, UNC, etc. fans who are probably saying the same thing about their team and the ranking they hold also. It’s early, the “experts” know it, and these rankings are based on that.

Nolan Smith to miss two games for playing with pros. No mention by Ford? No front page news on ESPN?
