John Wall has been cleared by the NCAA and will have to miss one exhibition game (Campbellsville) and one regular season game (Morehead State). He will also have to repay $787.58 of expenses. Go Cats.

WALL DANCE!!!!
October 30th, 2009 at 7:48 pm
So we get Bledsoe some valuable collegiate experience as lead point against a tougher than usual jobber team, then Wall gets to come in and take over the WORLD.
Woohoo!
October 30th, 2009 at 7:48 pm
WOW…That sucks he has to sit at all, but I guess it could have been much much worse. Just glad all this is over so we can start gettin shiat right!
October 30th, 2009 at 7:48 pm
Someone needs to make a youtube video of this so we can “John Wall” people.
October 30th, 2009 at 7:49 pm
Thank God. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 30th, 2009 at 7:52 pm

October 30th, 2009 at 7:53 pm
Now we are invincible! Suck it, Tipton!!!
October 30th, 2009 at 7:54 pm
Now we can all move on to the season. The NCAA sucks but finally this is over with. GO CATS! Happy Halloween.
October 30th, 2009 at 7:54 pm
I love how the NCAA figures to the penny.
October 30th, 2009 at 7:58 pm
Hells yeah!
October 30th, 2009 at 8:00 pm
Go Cats!
3- I agree, will help the team for Bledsoe to get the experience in a couple games, especially if we have a game where Wall gets in foul trouble and his minutes are limited
October 30th, 2009 at 8:01 pm
Hell yeah, even Tipton can’t put a negative spin on this….or can he?
October 30th, 2009 at 8:06 pm
Best News In The World , Tipton will proably hit the bottle over this one LOL. I bought my package for the Final Four today, Gonna be a GREAT YEAR.
My Ky Flag is flying high in Florida , really pisses my neighbors off LOL.
October 30th, 2009 at 8:06 pm
I dont think he will be needed in those games, but I am sure it’s gonna suck for him to be sittin. It’s just gonna make him more hungry though.
October 30th, 2009 at 8:08 pm
All this over $800?!?! They should make the dumbass AAU coach pay that money back not the college kid…Now lets all WALL dance to a 2010 championship!!!!
October 30th, 2009 at 8:10 pm
So this was the bad news?
October 30th, 2009 at 8:10 pm
I bet they spent more than $800 on the dang investigation. Cambellsville and Morehead lucked out. Clarion got screwed.
October 30th, 2009 at 8:11 pm
Thanks #7-Truly Epic
October 30th, 2009 at 8:12 pm
What a joke this whole thing was…go get em John Wall
October 30th, 2009 at 8:14 pm
Coal is to blame somehow in all of this.
October 30th, 2009 at 8:18 pm
So, any news on Jones and Leslie’s visit?
October 30th, 2009 at 8:24 pm
Suck on that Forde and Tipton. I can see Tipton’s article in the Monday H-L proclaiming that Pat will drive Wall to the NCAA headquarters in his new truck to drop off the $787.58. But I’ll bet that Tipton and Forde will drink up more than that over the weekend. Suck It you Losers!!!!!!
October 30th, 2009 at 8:27 pm
In true DX style “Jerry Tipton we got two words for ya!!.. SUCK IT!!!”
October 30th, 2009 at 8:28 pm
I’m still kind of leary that they say he can miss a few games and pay back a hair under $800. Aren’t these the same people who cleared Rose to play at Memphis? Get it in writing Cal….but at 99.9%….. it isn’t worth the paper it’s writen on. Universities across this great country…Play your starting five, you’re gonna wish you’d put 8 guys on the floor……The Cats are back….
October 30th, 2009 at 8:31 pm
They should just hand the charity a grand through the window of Pats black Lincoln Mark LT.
October 30th, 2009 at 8:31 pm
The good news is John Wall will only miss one real game. The BAD news is…I rarely ever get to go to a game…and I went out of my way to get tix for Morehead State….got 6th row of upper…not bad…and now…I won’t get to see Wall…there..that’s my whining moment…on the bright side, I still get to be at the first game of the Calipari Era…and I got to see Wall and BBM and at the Blue-White game…but I am definitely going to go after tix for as many games as I am able…as we’ll have Wall for just this one year…but all in all…this is great news…and I am just really glad that it is settled and we know the deal…
GO CATS!!! (=^_^=)
October 30th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
and = at
and I got to see Wall AT BBM and at the Blue-White game
oops…
October 30th, 2009 at 8:40 pm
F**K YES!!!!!! Thank God that is over with. Words can’t describe the great mood this has put me in after the rumors from earlier. I’m not gonna go all Les Miles down at LSU or anything but I’m very happy and I’ll leave it at that!!!!! GO CATS and J-WALL!!!!!!!!!
October 30th, 2009 at 8:45 pm
#27/28-I feel your pain bud. Entered lottery and got lowers for the Morehead State game, lol. Even without Wall I cannot wait. Bledsoe is more than capable of handling the point. Our boys in blue are still going to put on a show.
October 30th, 2009 at 8:50 pm
I want accountability, for everyone that fanned this flame….ESPN, MM, Tipton, everyone
October 30th, 2009 at 8:50 pm
Bledsoe is the real deal. Most teams would kill to have him running their point. We’ll have some bumps early, but wait until this crew gets 8 or 10 games under their belts. I PITY THE FOOLS!!!!!
October 30th, 2009 at 8:52 pm
Pitino is so upset about this news, that he may be forced to go out and pork another bimbo.
October 30th, 2009 at 8:52 pm
Two games is two too much. Thankfully, it wasn’t worse. It still ticks me off that there has been no mention of an investigation of the Duke player who played for the same AAU coach. Why not?
October 30th, 2009 at 9:00 pm
Im glad i worried for nothing, im glad i was wrong, and Im glad this is behind us.
Time to kick some a*s
October 30th, 2009 at 9:06 pm
great news!
October 30th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
[...] UPDATE: John Wall has been cleared by the NCAA. He must sit out one exhibition game against Campbellsville and the home opener against Morehead, then is eligible for the rest of the season. He must also repay $787.00 in expenses. Kentucky Sports Radio Blog Archive Wall cleared by the NCAA [...]
October 30th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
for the last time there is no mention of the Duke kid because the NCAA was investigating benefits supplied to pay for a trip to UK twice. the duke kid didnt visit UK and i doubt it cost much to get the duke kid to his visit from Raleigh to Durham opposed to Raleigh to Lexington.
October 30th, 2009 at 9:17 pm
38 He didnt play for Clifton while he was registered as an agent
October 30th, 2009 at 9:19 pm
38 - Is it not possible that the Duke kid did receive monetary benefit from the coach, other than through an unofficial visit to Duke? Like to another school or even some other benefit? The issue that spurred the Wall investigation was that the coach was a “certified agent”. He was also a “certified agent” that coached the Duke kid. How would the NCAA know that the Duke kid didn’t receive any monetary benefit from this coach unless they investigated? You follow?
October 30th, 2009 at 9:19 pm
not sure y ur replying to mine like i was wrong when i was also correct…..but ok
October 30th, 2009 at 9:20 pm
now we got wall cleared all we need to do is get Lucas cleared and Indy here we come lol
October 30th, 2009 at 9:21 pm
Hell yeah… Go Big Blue
October 30th, 2009 at 9:21 pm
39 - I have not seen that published anywhere. But if that is the case, then I suppose that is a logical explanation. Although it smells like Corey Maggette all over again.
October 30th, 2009 at 9:22 pm
40- ur saying every recruit who commits should be investigated?
October 30th, 2009 at 9:23 pm
I’m just glad that it’s over and that Wall is the real deal who will lead us to the Final 4.
October 30th, 2009 at 9:23 pm
gotta go……
ps JOHN WALL!
October 30th, 2009 at 9:25 pm
45 - No, of course not. But whoever played for the AAU coach when he was a certified or registered agent that is now playing NCAA basketball should be investigated. If not, then ho can just Wall be singled out? That is what is called discrimination.
October 30th, 2009 at 9:27 pm
So I take it this is the “bad news coming today” from UK, huh? According to Maggard, anyway.
What a freaking joke. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Anyone who subscribes to his CRAP is naive as hell. I’d be utterly embarrassed right now to be associated with that site.
October 30th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
21. Coal is the most important resource….ah, screw it. GO CATS!

Coal costs our state more than it brings in and… well, heck. GBB!
October 30th, 2009 at 9:42 pm
Is anyone watching the WVU v USF game on ESPN2? Just wondering because you will not believe what they said during an ‘update’ …..the newscaster said this about the John Wall situation, he called it a “recruiting indiscretion” ..makes it seem like Cal did something wrong….I was stunned but then I remembered I was watching ESPN and that explained everything…
October 30th, 2009 at 9:47 pm
54.
Seriously? Why does ESPN continually get away with defaming the UK Athletics brand?
October 30th, 2009 at 9:48 pm
7.) that is awesome
October 30th, 2009 at 9:49 pm
54 - I noticed that also. But you know, that’s nothing new. The national sports media in general, not just ESPN, doesn’t like Kentucky basketball. But they just love North Carolina, Duke, and some others. They let up some during the Tubby era, but mainly because they liked Tubby and we were no longer at the top during much of that time. I expect the dislike to escalate now that Coach Cal is here. If we become the #1 program again, I will live just fine with the dislike.
October 30th, 2009 at 9:54 pm
We are the Evil Empire now with Cal. It’s like the Raiders of the 70’s. We got swagger, we’re good and everyone else wishes it was their team.
October 30th, 2009 at 9:56 pm
Nobody wants FREE TICKETS?!?!?!?!

Crappy news - Jodie Meeks was placed on the “inactive list” due to the
coach’s decision for his first NBA regular season game. That sucks for
Jodie:

I’m I the only one that saw the Miss.ST. fan in the comments on Drew’s TAWWTTW, talking alot of SH*T about UK B-Ball.
October 30th, 2009 at 10:59 pm
Would it be possible for Coach Cal to schedule another exhibition game prior to the Morehead State game, thus making Wall eligible for Morehead State ? I heard Renardo Sydney will have to sit 2 exhibitions & then will be eligible for their season opener…
Do it in Freedom Hall in place of the cancelled practice(Win/Win for Wall & Fans) !
October 30th, 2009 at 11:07 pm
Mis St. is really gonna challenge us in the SEC of he’s elegible. They will also be DEEP, but they don’t have John Wall.
October 30th, 2009 at 11:41 pm
WOW….Forde really had a barn burner of a story.
October 30th, 2009 at 11:43 pm
UK does play 2 exhibition games, the other is Clarion..so it kinda doesnt make sense. But Miss St no doubt will have a good front court, but what about their back court? They will be good though, it will be a good game playing them…could very well the SEC championship game.
