  1. Dennis Says:

Adreian Payne is the only true center we are recruiting. If we miss on him, I will officially start stressing on our 2010 class. I’ve always thought UK had the best chance to land him.

  2. soup Says:

    Go Celts!

  3. mocha Says:

must read for everyone, given the recent approval to use coal in the name of the lodge (article from USA today):
    http://blogs.usatoday.com/oped/2009/10/debate-on-coal-production-our-v iew-mountaintop-mining-leaves-giant-scars-in-appalachia.html

  4. ruppcrazy Says:

Dennis, I wouldn’t sress too much. Cal’s offense really doesn’t require a center and it’s arguable that it is better with 4 perimiter players and agood power forward.

Not to mention that there is no way that both Cuz and Orton will go pro after this year. At least one will stay.

  5. Dennis Says:

    #4 Good point, Thanks.

  6. UK81 Says:

Don’t worry about recruiting. We will lose 5 players maximum:

    Patterson
    Wall
    Krebs
    Harris
    Stevenson

Cousins & Orton will both be back. There will be 4 scholarships for 2010

    Poole
    Lamb
    Knight/Selby
    Jones/Payne

    Anyhow, that is my prediction.

  7. UK81 Says:

Also, add only Poole and lose the players listed above and that still leaves one strong team.

  8. AaronsUKBasketballBlog Says:

a little presumptuous to say Cousins will be back- he’s projected as a first round draft pick (possibly lottery) in every mock draft.

  9. UK81 Says:

    Hopeful

  10. NewWildcatOrder Says:

    8) I was about to say the same thing. If there’s a guy to ever get caught up and over looked do to the John Wall hype (which I love) its Cousins. If he has his head on straight this year, he will be unstoppable.

  11. NewWildcatOrder Says:

Supposed to be #8, not smiley.

  12. catcrawler Says:

THE ARTICLE ABOUT PATTERSON—- GO TO THE BOTTOM OF IT AND LOOK AT THE PROJECTED STARTERS.

  13. scfcats Says:

12 - Well they got 2 right, ha!

  14. TrinityPills Says:

12–I had to reopen this comments section after reading that article just to make the same comment. Has that guy seen any of these kids play?

    Wall
    Liggins
    Harris
    Patterson
    Stevenson

Do some reserach. Already there are two things wrong with that. Cal has mentioned that he might end up with 3 freshmen starting. This has lineup has one. I know he said “might” but I think his decision is between “2 freshmen or 3 freshmen”, not “1 freshmen or 3 freshmen”.

Second issue is Liggins. Hasn’t coach said he will be exclusively at the SF position this year? Simple research from media day would have found both of those nuggets.

    Good article on Patterson, though.

  15. Iceman Says:

    6) your crazy if you think Cousins will be back next year. No I don’t think he is good enough yet to go, but his attitude just tells me this is just a stepping stone for him.

  16. UK81 Says:

I would not count on Cousins leaving. Orton will push him and he gives every impression that he is enjoying college. Far from a done deal. Do not discount the Bledsoe/Cousins friendship.

  17. Indycatfan Says:

Well what I’m pissed about, they’re telling UK that Wall’s eligibility might be somewhat in limbo but Duke’s recruit Ryan Kelly is from the same AAU team right? and not a damn word on his. WTF?

  18. BluegrassHoopster Says:

MM is reporting that C.J. Leslie is visiting UK tomorrow…

  19. mocha Says:

17-were you holed up in a cave last week?
That subject was discussed at nause by ksr staff
and readers. But I agree with you, WTF indeed?

  20. mocha Says:

    ^^nausea

  21. Perfect Patterson Says:

I went back and looked at some of the youtube vids of Terrence Jones, and he is simply amazing. Anyone else think he would be a better fit than Payne at UK? I think he would be perfect in Cal’s team. I really want him at UK now, but it might be hard to steer him over away from the regional northwestern schools that are trying to keep him around.

  22. MONSTER_MASH Says:

This Wall issue is kinda starting piss me off..Will he have to sit out first three games?

  23. buddylove Says:

    Any word on Jai Lucas?

  24. mocha Says:

22 - i agree with you, it’s getting old. even if wall has to sit out 3 games, he will miss the campbellsville, clarion, and morehead state games.
no disrespect to those teams, but i would guess we can still beat them (i’m crushing VMI flashbacks from last year).
I wish someone in the NCAA would make a freaking decision and let’s move on already. Them keeping this alive is only pleasing
to the Tiptons and Fordes of the world.

  25. NewWildcatOrder Says:

    24) Exhibitions wouldn’t count. Suspension would start with Morehead.

  26. KYStout Says:

First three games missed would be Morehead (that’s what she said) Miami, OH<<==she said that too, and the first game of the Cancun Challenge against Sam Houston State.

  27. mocha Says:

25/26 - thanks for the correction, i wasn’t aware of that. sorry for my mistake.

  28. UKKILLA005 Says:

for some reason the odds on the college basketball national championship changed today…kansas is still the fav at +400..kentucky was second at +600 but now they are +800..and texas was third at +1000 but now at +700…something i find interesting.

  29. waltahtothealtah Says:

I wonder if Goodman’s article saying Texas is the deepest team in the country could have had something to do with that? Not sure if a small article could have that effect?

  30. asdfasdf Says:

KELLY was not on the same team when Clifton was registered as an agent

  32. UKCatFan01ABC Says:

Man, Todd looks like an alien.

  33. ukisgr8 Says:

Jerry Tipton is the scum of the earth and I feel dirty for reading his article. He’s trash.

  34. Indycatfan Says:

Well 19 it wasn’t a cave, but I was in Europe and wasn’t able to get all the news, but thanks for being the nice guy you are.
