Good news for all of you iPhone users, Kentucky football now has its own iPhone application. A new company, GameDayApps, has released its first App, “Kentucky Football GameDay”, on to iTunes. The app will provide anything you need to know, from directions to the stadium, to the line on the game, or who that freshman is that just made the tackle on special teams. It will also feature live news updates, a direct Twitter feed to players and coaches, and links to your favorite Kentucky sports websites a link to Kentucky Sports Radio.
To find out more, check out the GameDayApps website, or just go ahead and download the Kentucky Football Gameday app in the iTunes store. If for nothing else, cough up the $2.99 to support Bobby Perry and the three other former UK basketball players who are among the company’s founders. Can I get a Go Cats?

Nice try, but it’s still not worth being forced to use AT&T in order to get an iPhone.
But I really wish I could find a UK theme for my Blackberry Tour.

Thanks for the comments all. We are DEFINITELY planning on a Basketball APP. It is almost finished. We submit it to Apple this Friday and wait for Approval. That’s what took so long to get this one finished. And, as you’ll see, it took a while to put all the data and news and facts in. We hope to do well with it, but also pump up sites like KSR and general accessibility to UK Football and Basketball. Other sports teams have nothing on Itunes and we can lead the way here. Thanks again for the comments. We will be asking your help for what to add for the next version soon. Until then we are gonna work on getting Basketball into Apple by Halloween! Thanks all!

I just checked it out. It has the rosters, directions, weather and news for BOTH teams playing! The coaches and players twitter accounts are an added bonus, as well. Everything a fan needs to get ready for game day. Looking forward to the basketball app coming out!

Biggest news of the day: I found Joe Craft in my family tree, but it’s through some decendants from Letcher County about late 1890’s

TayPrince Jr. it DOES work for Ipod Touch as well. We definitely designed it that way. Of course the only thing it cant do is call the stadium, but thats it as far as differences.

Thanks, I just bought it.

Man Bobby, KSR isn’t linnked up yet. ASOB would be a nice feed as well. Nice app though. GL

Bobby, are you guys planning on launching one for every school or are you just sticking with UK? That’s a gold mine of an idea.
October 27th, 2009 at 4:46 pm
I see where it is Bobby, my bad. I was looking at the news feed. Might add a Wildcat roar when the app opens on v 2.0 though

#19 - We already have some other Football Schools awaiting approval. We are definitely releasing more quickly. The hope is to have all the SEC and UK basketball finished and either approved or awaiting approval by Thanksgiving. It is a heck of a process to get through, but we think it brings a lot to the table. Thanks for the kind words.
